Director Xie also knew he was just anxious.

So he didn’t hold it against him.

He nodded. "That’s right. She is Fu Mingxue—the same Fu Mingxue you’ve heard of."

The moment he spoke, not only did Lu Xinghua’s eyes light up, but the other two maintenance engineers had the exact same reaction.

They had heard of her.

Just then, Fu Mingxue spoke up:

"So, may I inspect it now?"

Lu Xinghua’s attitude did a complete one-eighty. "My apologies. My tone earlier was out of line. Please, go right ahead!"

He was even being formal now.

Fu Mingxue wasn’t about to hold it against him.

’Besides, she knew her age and gender often made people skeptical at first.’

’But it didn’t matter; she didn’t mind at all. After all, she relied on her skills.’

Fu Mingxue climbed up to the fighter jet.

Lu Xinghua led the way.

"Take a look at this. The other damaged areas on the fighter have all been repaired. This is the last bit. We’ve tried to fix it several times, but it’s still not working."

As Fu Mingxue examined the area, she asked Lu Xinghua a few questions.

It was dark by now, but fortunately, the area was illuminated by powerful floodlights, so it wasn’t much of a hindrance.

Fu Mingxue reviewed the data from their diagnostic reports.

Afterward, she inspected it for a long time—and thankfully, she found the problem.

Lu Xinghua couldn’t believe it. ’So that was the problem all along.’

He had fallen silent, just watching intently from the side.

However, even though the problem had been identified, the repair would still take some time.

Fu Mingxue didn’t finish until two in the morning.

"Done!"

She had been in one position for so long that she could barely straighten her back.

"I’ll run a pressure test." Lu Xinghua held a pressure gauge in his hand.

Fu Mingxue watched from the sidelines. An hour later, the jet started up.

The pilot gave a hand signal.

Lu Xinghua immediately exclaimed, "Mr. Fu, it’s working! The jet can take off! This is fantastic!"

He then bowed to Fu Mingxue. "I’m sorry. I must again apologize for my inappropriate words and behavior earlier!"

’From now on,’ he thought, ’I must remember not to judge a book by its cover.’

His grand gesture made Fu Mingxue a little embarrassed.

She quickly said, "It’s nothing, I don’t mind. Besides, you’ve already apologized, so there’s no need to keep dwelling on it. It’s getting late. We should head down the mountain."

"Right." Lu Xinghua had to head down as well.

The pilot flew the jet away.

Everyone else had to head down the mountain.

By the time Fu Mingxue got home, it was already broad daylight.

Director Xie dropped her off and left. He still had to arrange for the others to be taken home.

"Mom, I’m home."

Mrs. Fu’s heart ached seeing her covered in mud from the mountain.

"You were out all night again?"

"Yeah, Mom. I’m going to take a shower first."

There were a lot of mosquitos on the way down the mountain, and their bites were making her very uncomfortable.

She probably had several bites on her face as well.

Seeing how dirty her daughter was, Mrs. Fu quickly urged her, "Then hurry up and wash. I’ll make you some breakfast."

She worried whether her daughter’s body could handle pulling two all-nighters in a row.

Fu Mingxue was even more tired this time than she had been yesterday.

It was mainly due to the long walk on the mountain road.

After her shower, she started to feel drowsy.

"Mom, I’m not going to eat. I’m just going to get some sleep—"

Mrs. Fu quickly stopped her. "How can you sleep without eating anything? Have a little something to fill your stomach, then you can go to sleep."

So, Fu Mingxue had no choice but to eat something first.

Thankfully, she was still mindful of the time during her nap and woke up around noon.

Just as she was getting up, she suddenly heard a familiar voice.
