Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 281: Doctor Xie Is Not Pleased
The hospital director beside her spoke up immediately:
"I asked Doctor Xie to come over. She just finished in another operating room and happened to overhear you. Why don’t we let her go in and check on the patient first?"
Mrs. Qin had met Doctor Xie before. She also knew from Fu Mingxue that although the doctor was young, her medical skills were truly exceptional.
She immediately pleaded with Doctor Xie, "Doctor Xie, please, save my granddaughter. She’s so young—"
Doctor Xie glanced at her. "It’s my duty as a doctor. Now, all of you, please step aside. Don’t waste any more time."
At her words, everyone backed away to the side.
Doctor Xie went straight into the emergency room, followed by the other doctor and the director.
The fact that the doctor was a young woman didn’t bother Mr. Qin.
After all, geniuses exist, and he never underestimated a talented young woman.
Take his younger daughter-in-law, Fu Mingxue, for example. Wasn’t she incredibly skilled in her own field?
His own daughter was an excellent pilot, after all!
Doctor Xie didn’t emerge after going inside, but other doctors did come out to have the family sign a surgical consent form.
Time dragged on, second by agonizing second.
Though it was now the dead of night, no one felt the slightest bit sleepy. Their hearts were filled with nothing but worry and tension—
Six hours went by. It was now five in the morning.
Dawn was breaking outside.
Just then, the emergency room doors opened.
A doctor emerged first.
The Qin Family swarmed forward. "How is she?"
"Congratulations. The surgery was a success. The patient is being moved to a room now."
Mrs. Qin pressed her palms together, silently thanking the heavens.
The rest of the Qin Family were also overjoyed.
Just then, Qin Ruqiao was wheeled out.
"Qiaoqiao—" Qin Wenze rushed forward. When he saw his daughter’s lifeless, injury-covered face, he was hit with an unbearable wave of heartache.
’In just a few short days, his Qiaoqiao had been hurt so badly she was barely recognizable.’
Mrs. Qin was even worse off. The moment she saw her granddaughter, she staggered, about to collapse.
Fortunately, Mr. Qin, who was beside her, caught her just in time, preventing her from falling.
"Qiaoqiao—" Mrs. Qin’s voice trembled.
Tears streamed down her face.
’She wished she could take all of her granddaughter’s suffering onto herself.’
Just as the Qin Family was overcome with grief, a cool, detached voice cut in:
"Don’t crowd around her. We need to get her to the ICU for observation first. If the patient shows no fever or other signs of infection within the next twenty-four hours, she can be moved to a regular ward."
"One family member is enough to stay; the rest of you don’t all need to wait. No one is allowed inside the ICU. Also..."
Doctor Xie turned to Qin Wenhao, her displeasure obvious. "Qin Wenhao, your wounds have split open this badly, and you still don’t plan on getting them treated?"
Only when she spoke did Mr. Qin notice the numerous bloodstains on his son, already dried to a dark brown.
He was startled.
’A whole night had passed, and they hadn’t even noticed that their son’s wounds had reopened.’
"Wenhao, are you all right?"
"I’m fine—"
"Am I treating you, or should I find another doctor to do it?" Doctor Xie’s expression was grim.
Mr. Qin quickly interjected, "Doctor Xie, I’m so sorry. My son was injured last night fighting off the thugs who took his niece. We were so worried about the child that we didn’t even notice. I’ll have him see a doctor to treat his wounds right now."
Hearing that he had been fighting thugs to save the child, Doctor Xie’s expression softened considerably.
After all, the little girl she had just operated on was in truly terrible shape.
"Fine. Then go, quickly."
