Director Xie got her a pen and paper.

He was somewhat shocked when he saw Fu Mingxue produce a very realistic portrait sketch with just a few strokes.

"Here’s the sketch. What do you think? Will this work?"

Fu Mingxue handed over the finished portrait.

Director Xie looked at the sketch in his hand. ’This is absolutely perfect.’

He felt that Fu Mingxue could go work as a sketch artist for the criminal investigation department.

Not only was the drawing incredibly realistic, but she was also exceptionally fast.

"Yes, this will do. Just leave this matter to me."

"Thank you, Director Xie." Fu Mingxue knew this wasn’t the time to worry about troubling others.

After all, finding the child was the most important thing.

"No need to thank me. It’s what we should do. I’ll get right on it."

Seeing that things were settled, Fu Mingxue left.

When she returned to the family residences, Mrs. Fu was a little surprised.

"Why are you back so early?"

"Something came up. Oh, Mom, Qin Wenhao’s daughter was lost by her mother."

Mrs. Fu was utterly shocked. "The child is missing? Her own mother lost her?"

’Good heavens! She must have done it on purpose!’

Fu Mingxue explained briefly, then said, "I still have to tell Qin Wenhao about this."

Mrs. Fu nodded hurriedly. "Yes, you have to. You should go quickly."

’I hope they find that little girl soon.’

Fu Mingxue wheeled her bicycle out, got on, and rode off.

Left behind, Mrs. Fu was still slowly processing what she had just heard.

’Good heavens. If her own mother really did it on purpose, that Lan woman is truly terrifying!’

’She had always thought abandoning a daughter was something that only happened in the countryside, where so many people who kept having girls only wanted a son.’

’She never imagined it would happen in a big city.’

’If it was really his ex-wife who abandoned their own daughter, it must have been for revenge.’

Fu Mingxue’s electric bike was quite fast, of course.

She arrived at Qin Wenhao’s hospital room.

"Sister-in-law!" Zhao Liang’s shout directly woke Qin Wenhao, who had been sleeping.

His eyes were filled with surprise and delight.

"Honey, what are you doing here?"

"Mom called..." Fu Mingxue told him about the missing child.

Qin Wenhao burned with rage as he listened.

Fu Mingxue saw how agitated he was and quickly tried to calm him down. "Don’t get so worked up. Be careful you don’t tear open your wounds. Dad and Big Brother didn’t tell you over the phone precisely because they were afraid you’d react like this."

"Director Xie said he’ll handle it."

Qin Wenhao suppressed his anger. "Director Xie has a wide network of connections."

Still, if she was really taken out of Beijing, it would be very difficult to find her.

After all, the area is vast, and there’s no telling where she might have been taken.

Moreover, with underdeveloped transportation and communication, information travels much more slowly.

By the time they got any news, she would likely have already been moved elsewhere.

"No, this won’t do. I have to get discharged."

Seeing him about to get out of bed, Fu Mingxue held him down. "Wait. I’ll have a doctor come and check on you first. If the doctor says you can be discharged, then you can leave. If not, you’ll have to stay for a few more days."

"Didn’t you just say Director Xie has a lot of connections? I just drew a portrait of Qiaoqiao for him, so it’ll be easier for him to have people search for her."

After saying this, she turned her head to look at Zhao Liang.

"Zhao Liang, could you please go get the doctor?"

Zhao Liang had heard everything. He nodded immediately. "I’ll go get the doctor right now."

Fu Mingxue looked at the still-anxious Qin Wenhao and shared another one of her thoughts.

"My guess is that Lan Qingman hid the child."
