Fu Mingxue and Qin Wenhao—truthfully, they hadn’t spent much time together.

So, now that it was just the two of them, things were a little awkward.

After a moment’s thought, she found a topic of conversation. "How did you get injured on your mission this time?"

Then she quickly added, "If it’s not convenient to talk about, then don’t."

’Truth be told, she wasn’t that eager to know.’

She was just making small talk.

"It’s nothing I can’t talk about. I was on a mission at the border and got hit during a firefight."

Qin Wenhao said it casually.

After all, while it wasn’t a secret, he couldn’t go into the details.

Fu Mingxue: ...?

’That’s it?’

At that moment, Qin Wenhao changed the subject. "Oh, right. I heard you installed a small electric motor on your bicycle?"

Fu Mingxue nodded.

"Yes."

"Not only that, I also assembled a tricycle for my mom today."

Qin Wenhao asked, "A tricycle? You assembled it?"

Fu Mingxue nodded. "That’s right. It’s perfect for my mom. It’ll be convenient for her to go grocery shopping and things. Later on, when the two kids are old enough for school, she can use it to take them."

Qin Wenhao: ...?

’His wife really thought far ahead, talking about taking them to school—weren’t Qin Hao and Qin Ke not even a year and a half old?’

’Besides, even when they were old enough for school...’

’Would they really need their grandmother to pick them up?’

’Don’t they have their own two legs to walk home?’

"You’re amazing! You can even assemble something like that."

Fu Mingxue was a little proud. "That’s nothing. There’s a lot I know how to do."

’As long as she put her mind to it, she could create a lot of things.’

’After all, she had lived a whole other life. Even though she’d been trapped at home in her past life, she had been so busy she barely had time to watch TV.’

’But she had still seen plenty of things.’

’What’s more, even without her memories from a past life, inventing little gadgets was a simple matter for her.’

Qin Wenhao watched her proud expression, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly.

’He’d really married a treasure.’

’He thought back to the beginning, when she had proposed they get married—he recalled that his first instinct had been to refuse.’

’Thank goodness!’

His gaze softened even more. "Did you install a small electric motor on it, too?"

Fu Mingxue shook her head. "No, for the one Mom’s riding, pedals are better. It’s safer."

Qin Wenhao agreed. "You made the right call."

The husband and wife truly had few things to talk about.

Fu Mingxue couldn’t talk about things from the factory, and Qin Wenhao wouldn’t talk about what happened in the military.

And so, they ran out of things to discuss.

Still, the two hours passed quickly.

Although Qin Wenhao was reluctant to see his wife leave, he knew she had to work the next day.

So, he said, "It’s getting late, you should head back."

Fu Mingxue’s reply was brisk. "Alright. You focus on recovering. I’m leaving now."

Qin Wenhao: ...?

’I mean, I know, but—couldn’t you at least act a little reluctant to leave? Why do you look like you can’t wait to get out of here?’

"Be careful on your way home. Stay safe."

"I will. I’m off." Fu Mingxue walked out.

Zhao Liang was sitting outside. Apparently, he had come back earlier, seen Fu Mingxue was there, and decided not to go in and disturb the couple.

Seeing Fu Mingxue come out, he immediately stood up. "Take care, Ma’am!"

"I appreciate it," Fu Mingxue said to him before leaving.

When she returned home, Mrs. Fu was still awake.

"You’re back. How’s our son-in-law?"

"He’s fine. Are the two kids asleep?"

"Yes, they just fell asleep."

Mrs. Fu’s words dispelled any notion Fu Mingxue had of going to see them.

She had originally planned to play with the two children for a little while.
