Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 219: In Surgery
Meanwhile, Fu Mingxue was completely unaware of the uproar within the Qin family.
She raced to the hospital.
"How is he?"
"They’re operating on him now. Try not to panic—Qin Wenhao will be fine. The hospital said they’re bringing in a specialist to lead the surgery."
The speaker was Director Xie.
But how could Fu Mingxue not be frantic?
"Where is he injured?"
"In this area." Director Xie pointed to a spot on his own chest.
Fu Mingxue: ...?
The color drained from her face.
’Damn it, that’s his heart!’
’Can he even be saved from that?’
"Ma’am, it’s all my fault. Qin Tuan was trying to save me—" Just then, a tear-choked voice suddenly rang out.
Fu Mingxue looked over at the speaker. His face was covered in injuries, mud, and blood, and his eyes were red and swollen from crying.
His clothes were tattered and soaked in blood.
Clearly, he was wracked with guilt.
"This isn’t about blame, so you don’t have to beat yourself up over it. It’s something every soldier is willing to do. It would have been the same no matter who was there."
Hearing this, the young soldier only cried harder.
But Fu Mingxue was in no mood to comfort anyone else.
Just then, two people hurried over, led by a very young woman.
When Director Xie saw them, he rushed forward and asked, "Dean Zhang, were you able to get the specialist you mentioned?"
Dean Zhang pointed to the young woman beside him. "This is the cardiac surgery specialist."
"Her? A specialist?" It wasn’t that Director Xie was distrustful, but the young woman was just so young.
"Rest assured, we aren’t being reckless. Doctor Xie is twenty-seven, but she’s a genius in the medical field. She graduated from the best medical university abroad at seventeen—"
Before he could finish, Fu Mingxue spoke up. "I trust her. Since she’s the specialist the Dean requested, then please, Doctor Xie, save my husband."
Doctor Xie... At first, Fu Mingxue hadn’t made the connection.
But as soon as she heard the surname, she knew exactly who this was.
In her previous life, this particular Doctor Xie was a top-tier medical genius, an incredibly influential figure in the medical world.
Tragically, this Doctor Xie would later die an untimely death, at what seemed to be only thirty-eight years old.
She’d heard that this Doctor Xie had only returned to the country in June of this year.
She was almost sent down to the countryside—in any case, she had faced many hardships.
At Fu Mingxue’s words, Xie Jinman couldn’t help but glance over at her, momentarily stunned—mostly because the young woman was so beautiful.
Director Xie decided to trust Dean Zhang, believing he wouldn’t act recklessly.
"Then please, proceed!"
’He hoped this young woman who shared his surname would succeed in operating on Qin Wenhao.’
Xie Jinman retracted her gaze and headed straight for the operating room.
Dean Zhang went with her.
"The surgery will likely take some time. Ms. Fu, why don’t you get some rest?"
"I don’t need to." Fu Mingxue’s heart was churning with anxiety. She just wanted Qin Wenhao to be safe.
Still, knowing that particular Doctor Xie was in there, she felt much calmer.
’It has to be a success. After all, that Doctor Xie is incredibly capable.’
The minutes and seconds ticked by.
A soldier brought dinner, but Fu Mingxue didn’t touch it, saying she had already eaten.
Even if she hadn’t, how could she possibly have an appetite at a time like this?
Then she remembered something. "Director Xie, I need to call my parents-in-law—"
Director Xie quickly replied, "We already called them. The Qin family has been notified."
Since they had already been called, Fu Mingxue didn’t make another call.
About eight hours passed. The time was now two-thirty in the morning.
The doors to the operating room finally swung open.
Nurses wheeled Qin Wenhao out.
Fu Mingxue, Director Xie, and the others immediately rushed forward.
"How is he?"
