The torment she suffered by his side over the years was enough to repay the hurt her father caused him. She could finally be free.

She asked him not to look for her, as she wanted to think alone.

She left without a sound, without any warning. He knew everywhere she could go and searched them all, but couldn’t find her. After Mei Langchi and her mother learned she had left, one sat there with a blank expression, while the other covered their face in agony, constantly blaming him for exchanging their daughter.

He said nothing and left their home with a cold face.

She left, and he didn’t hold any affection. The hurt Mei Langchi and his family caused him back then had been avenged; it was enough.

If she wished to leave, then let her leave. He never held any attachments. To make it clean, Li Qinghua signed the agreement directly.

Yet, slowly over time, after work, he’d unconsciously come to the courtyard where Mei Ziqi lived, and sometimes he quite missed the meals she cooked. The meals outside tasted bland. He even experienced a bout of anorexia, feeling no appetite for anything.

Because of this, after Mei Ziqi left, he lost quite a bit of weight.

However, upon seeing the flowers she tended to, his mood would often improve. If he had some free time, he’d even use the watering can Mei Ziqi often used to water her plants.
