Chapter 260: “I’m Only Here To Talk….”

  • Next Chapter

On the peak of a not-so-distant tree stood a young man, no older than 30 years of age. He had bright orange hair and flashed a smile, showing a distinct pair of fangs. His fangs were abnormal in every sense. They were shaped like lightning bolts, moving in a zigzag form.

The man’s name was Heimer Hannoly. He smiled as he knew his tamed beasts were already on their way to his opponent, who had just entered the battleground.

Heimer had been in the forest for about 17 days now, with no opponent and no way to leave, since the tower rules clearly stated that once one had entered into the battle arena, until victory or defeat was accomplished… leaving would immediately be seen as forfeiting.

Heimer was not bothered. He was content to take his time. He was not after any record, and neither was he in a rush. Whenever he got hungry, he would conjure one of his many, many tamed beasts and slaughter them for their meat alone.

Heimer, unlike many other beast tamers, did not care much about his tamed beasts. In fact, it was the only reason he sent them to the battlefield first: to test the hands of his enemy before he could partake in the battle himself.

“Hmmm, white hair, a chiseled jawline, porcelain skin, and strong muscles… He’s tall too.” Heimer bit his finger as he used his skill , to monitor his opponent, who had just stepped into the arena.

Another thing was off about Heimer from Jacob’s point of view. The man had piercings with sizably round rings on his nipples. Jacob already knew the man’s sexuality by the way he stood and his mannerisms.

“That’s my type of man. I bet he has all the men drooling over him.” Heimer whispered to himself again. “It’s too bad he’s standing in my way. Maybe… in another life, handsome.”

Heimer’s eyes glowed with a faint orange hue as he immediately telepathically ordered his beasts to attack Jacob.

Jacob stood there, already aware of what was going on. About 12 beasts simultaneously leaped out from the bushes, all waving deadly fangs and claws at him.

The young man merely smiled. He knew it was hubris to attack him with a bunch of red-fanged beasts, as he was an even more superior beast tamer than Heimer would ever be.

With nothing but a single thought, each and every one of those beasts seemed to immediately snap out of the trance that they were in, falling at his feet in reverence.

They cowered for a bit, as they clearly seemed not to enjoy being under Heimer’s control, and as such, they scattered in different directions.

Jacob dusted invisible dust off his body as Heimer watched him from a not-so-far vantage point, frowning slightly at the idea that Jacob could just switch ownership of his pets as though it were nothing.

Heimer was smart. He could see the extent of Jacob’s taming powers already. He knew that even if he were to summon his most powerful beasts, this man would find a way to tame them, and it would be ages before Heimer would find such creatures again.

He knew unquestionably that he would have to face the young man head-on.

He had drifted off into thought, and the next thing he saw, using his Eagle Vision, was Jacob pointing directly at him from where he stood.

A little startled, Heimer grunted and turned around, only to come face-to-face with the young man he had just seen.

Jacob stood there, the wind blowing through his hair as his bluish-gold eyes were locked onto Heimer.

There was no noticeable expression on Jacob’s face, but there was a faint glint in his eyes as he looked at the man.

“You didn’t really think you could win without facing me, did you?” Jacob broke the silence, not moving a single muscle as he stood comfortably on the peak of a tall tree, just about the same height as the one that Heimer stood on.

“Hm, you are even more handsome up close. To be fair, I waited 17 days for you to show up. I only wanted to see what kind of skill you possessed, and now I know.” Heimer flashed a knowing smile, standing with his hands on his hips in somewhat of a fashionable pose.

Jacob did not care much for these things.

“You know what skill I possess?” Jacob inquired as he raised a brow.

“Yes, I know your skill, and I already know it will be extremely difficult for you to defeat me. I don’t like to toot my own horn; I only speak the facts.”

Of a truth, Jacob had already appraised this young man and found him to possess an Infinity Barrier skill. So, in essence, he could only be touched one time out of an infinite amount of times, essentially meaning that most people would not even be able to hit Heimer in a battle.

This was suggested by the fact that—just like Jacob—the young man also had zero damage inflicted on his body.

Heimer was a peculiar opponent, certainly powerful. One had to get through his barrage of beasts before facing him, only to realize that it was almost impossible to touch him.

There were a lot of trees in this forest, and Heimer moved like a monkey as he swung on several branches just to get to Jacob.

Jacob merely watched, his infinitely comprehensive mind calculating.

…

If he truly had Luck Manipulation, then hitting Heimer would not be an issue, as he could just manipulate his luck to increase infinitely, making it so that he landed only one hit out of an infinite number.

It seemed crazy and impossible to do, but Jacob dabbled and reveled in doing the impossible.

Heimer launched a two-footed kick at Jacob, whom he thought had let his guard down, but Jacob was prepared.

Heimer was fast, very fast. Just as Heimer’s feet lunged towards Jacob at full force, the young man merely shifted to the side, balancing on the top of the tree with only a single toe as he grabbed Heimer by his legs.

The orange-haired man stared in utter disbelief as he was caught midair.

Jacob raised his arm and slammed a hard elbow into Heimer’s abdomen. The impact caused a huge puff of air to dissipate into the surroundings as the orange-haired man crashed painfully into the ground, creating a man-sized hole where he now lay.

The sound echoed so loudly that it caused birds to fly out of the trees and random animals and beasts to roar in shock.

Heimer now lay in a hole in the ground, completely passed out.

Jacob knew this was going to happen, as he already knew that because Heimer possessed the Infinity Barrier skill, he had never worked on training defensively, and as such, was not able to take very hard hits.

Heimer suddenly started to bleed from his mouth, suggesting that one or two of his organs had been damaged from that hit alone.

Jacob had completed the 51st floor.

…

Elyssara watched in utter excitement as Jacob had just cleared another floor, insultingly easily.

The young man casually pushed his hair back from his face and turned around, leaving no affection for Heimer whatsoever.

Elyssara could not hide the pleasure on her face as she now sat in a puddle of her own wetness. The thought that such a powerful human man could turn her down, even with how beautiful and endowed she was, had turned her into a depraved, savage animal who could not help but pleasure herself as she watched him defeat enemy after enemy.

But no matter how much she pleasured herself, it was never enough. She needed to feel him, kiss him.

Romstad was fully aware of what Elyssara was doing on her seat. It was obvious with how flushed her face was, but he paid her no mind.

In more than a millennium, this was not the first, nor the thousandth time she had done something like this. She would always find some man to lust over.

This hurt Romstad and his ego because he had always wanted Elyssara, and he had made sure to tell her almost every time. But she seemed more interested in humans for some reason.

Jacob kept on moving through the floors, beating his opponents as easily as possible, having to fight through different terrains. But the young man was easily adaptable, and as such, the terrains did not bother or affect him much.

He finally decided to rest after he had completed the 64th floor and return to his room, as dusk was fast approaching.

He bade Uga farewell and turned into his room. He headed straight to the shower, washed his hair, and conjured a new pair of clothes for himself out of thin air.

He was out of the washroom in no time.

He walked out of it, drying his hair slowly with a provided towel, when he caught a glimpse of a woman standing in the middle of his room.

He immediately sighed as he recognized who it was.

‘What the fuck does she want this time?’ he mused, a visible frown spreading across his face.

“Wait, Jacob. I’m only here to talk…”
