Reborn In A Cultivation World With All Cheat Abilities
Chapter 231: First Floor Fight
Landrey had long forgone the idea of grabbing Jacob and squeezing the young man to a pulp. Now he would simply attack him with a flurry of unpredictable strikes. In his experience, it was impossible to evade every single one.
The man-wolf did not hesitate. His right arm began to glow with a dark red hue as he growled ferociously, raising it gradually. Several shadow-like structures began to manifest from the ground, taking the shape of large direwolves with different features, all snarling hungrily, ready to devour any prey that stood before them.
They had eyes blacker than night, fangs sharper than daggers, and burning hot saliva dripping from their jaws, evaporating as soon as it touched the ground.
"This is my pack…" Landrey was still in his werewolf form. He caressed the two wolves beside him while two more stood in front. But Jacob remained unfazed. He was watching every single movement, every single breath, every muscle contraction. "I have trained them specially to hunt, and they never fail me.
"Tell me your name, stranger, so that when I defeat you, I can tell people of the great warrior I faced on the first floor of the Tower of Sun."
Landrey's voice was deathly calm, a little deeper than it had been before, but there was a serenity about it. It was neither angry nor cold.
"My name is Jacob Ironfell." Jacob wiped an imperceptible speck of dust from his shoulder and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Jacob Ironfell, no one has ever been able to break through my attacks so easily. I commend you, but there is no longer any time. This battle must end now."
At the sound of the last word, the four wolves charged at Jacob all at once, with Landrey creeping up behind them. But Jacob remained unfazed. Jacob possessed a primordial beast-taming bloodline that had since evolved into authority over all living creatures, a skill that did not care whether these creatures were summons or not.
Jacob smiled knowingly, and just as the wolves were about to reach him, he said a single word, a single word that echoed deep into the soul of the man who had summoned these beasts of the earth.
"Heel."
The conviction behind the command was enough to bring even the most ferocious of monsters to their knees. The wolves instantly began to whimper and stopped in their tracks as the darkness faded from their eyes in a single moment, replaced by a bright flash of light.
The four wolves then turned to face Landrey, whose face was filled with stupefaction. He was stunned by such a phenomenon. They all growled at him with anger in their eyes, moving toward him slowly.
"No! Attack! Obey me!" he screamed, but there was no response from his former underlings as they now faced him with clear intent.
"Attack," Jacob said calmly.
As a result of Jacob taming these beasts, their allegiance to him had caused them to evolve exponentially, and they now stood ten times stronger and faster than they had been previously.
The four wolves all dashed at Landrey with murderous intent. The first one lunged, but Landrey looked as though he would counter the attack. Jacob had been watching him carefully and intently. He knew what the man was capable of.
…
Jacob decided to try out his skill at that moment. The skill stated in great detail that his attacks had a 100% chance of landing any physical strike. He wanted to see just how accurate that claim was.
In theory, if it truly was 100%, then he would not even need to directly hit the person to physically injure them. All he had to do was think of hitting the person, and he could physically attack them from wherever he stood.
The first wolf aimed for Landrey's hand. Just as he was about to counter, Jacob launched an attack straight through the air from where he stood, causing Landrey to cough up a glob of blood over his chin as a wave of heavy pressure crashed against his chest. The hit caused him to abandon his counter, and just before he was sent flying, the wolf managed to rip his left arm off.
"Aaaagh!" Landrey screamed as another crater was created in the ground as a result of his body slamming into it.
The wolves did not relent. They kept attacking him, but at just the right moment, Jacob would disrupt his counterattack, causing the wolves' attacks to have a 100% strike rate.
Landrey was bleeding all over the floor, with a torn arm, scratch marks, and bruises covering his body. He was clearly in pain as he knelt on the floor.
Jacob had already manipulated the luck in this battle in his favor, so he already knew that no matter what Landrey did, he would escape this duel without so much as a scratch. He called the wolves to heel again when he felt they had done enough. He did not plan on killing Landrey, but maiming him was not out of the question.
The man knelt there in wolf form, bleeding all over the concrete and looking down with a dark expression. It was not long before he raised his head and spat out a tooth enveloped in dark crimson blood.
"You underestimate me, Ironfell. You think you have won, but I'm no stranger to pain." Landrey's voice was still deathly calm even in the midst of it all. Jacob knew that only years of training could give a man such control over his emotions.
He knew that Landrey was not actually maimed yet because when he looked into the man's abilities and traits, he found something rather interesting. Something that told him that physical attacks would only do so much against his opponent.
<Instant Regeneration>
Landrey had already begun to rise from his knees, his eyes burning bright red. The thick fur covering his body now stood on end all at once. His body glowed bright red with an aura that would bring any inferior being to their knees instantly.
"You have no idea what I'm capable of…"
