Chapter 1606: Chapter 666: He Who Harms Others Ultimately Harms Himself

Night grew deep.

Chi Ye flipped over the last page of the Merit Book and suddenly felt a bit famished.

Having declined a dinner invitation from Demon King Tongtian and his daughter, Chi Ye had spent the whole day in the tent.

Apart from the half-hearted breakfast, he hadn’t eaten anything all day.

Chen Yi, that rascal, was nowhere to be found.

Midway through, the maid did come in to change the pot of tea.

Chi Ye picked up the tea and drank several gulps.

The water was warm and had a subtle tea fragrance, surprisingly similar to the scent of that little maid.

After drinking half the pot, Chi Ye inexplicably felt restless.

He tossed the teapot aside, glanced at the freshly cleaned bed, his gaze darkened, and suddenly felt a scorching sensation rise from his abdomen.

This feeling... Chi Ye realized something was amiss.

He quickly channeled his energy and instantly understood.

His eyes suddenly darkened, recalling that when Wuyue delivered the tea earlier, her behavior seemed a bit odd.

He had been drugged.

The esteemed Demon Emperor of Beiyu Palace, Chi Ye, had been drugged by a maid who couldn’t even truss a chicken.

Chi Ye was furious, taking strides to leave the tent, his expression fierce as though he could tear someone apart in an instant.

But just then, a fragrant breeze blew in.

Shui Yaoyao, wearing only a watery-red leather cloak, walked in.

"Brother Chi Ye, where are you going?"

Shui Yaoyao’s voice was alluring as she slowly pulled off her cloak.

In the lamplight, under the cloak, there was nothing else worn underneath.

"Shui Yaoyao, you told that woman to drug me! Don’t think just because you’re Shui Yi’s woman, I won’t dare kill you."

Chi Ye was so angry that veins bulged on his forehead, not knowing whether to curse Shui Yaoyao’s audacity or the foolish woman’s willingness to act as Shui Yaoyao’s accomplice.

"Brother Chi Ye, I only did it because I like you so much. Are you feeling bad? Shall I help you?"

Shui Yaoyao sauntered closer, her face full of infatuation.

She adored Chi Ye deeply, longing for hundreds of years to be with him.

Yet Chi Ye was impervious; if she didn’t take advantage of her father’s birthday banquet to make this irreversible, she’d never have another chance.

Shui Yaoyao made a move, lunging towards Chi Ye.

But Chi Ye snorted coldly, completely ignoring Shui Yaoyao’s embrace and swiftly captured her.

"Brother Chi Ye, what are you doing?" The drug Shui Yaoyao gave Chi Ye was a secret potion of the court, powerful and formidable, and she never expected Chi Ye could suppress its effects.

"Doing what? Shui Yaoyao, if you dare drug me, guess what I’ll do."

Chi Ye seized Shui Yaoyao’s acupoint, clamped her chin, forcing her mouth open, and poured the remaining half pot of water into her mouth without a word.

Shui Yaoyao choked heavily, tears and snot flowing. She wanted to struggle, but her cultivation was no match for Chi Ye’s, her whole body tightly bound by his dominant demonic power.

"Chi Ye, the potion was given to me by Empress Dowager Chi... you can’t..."

Having forcibly given her drugged water, Chi Ye wrapped her in the cloak and dashed out of the tent.

Outside, none of the Chi Prison Army guards were present; evidently, Shui Yaoyao had done something when she entered.

Chi Ye forced himself to calm his anger, knowing he was set up by his own mother, Empress Dowager Chi. So calculating she was, even toward her own son.

Given this, don’t blame me for being ruthless, forget old subordinates, forget founding heroes, damn them all.

With Shui Yaoyao in tow, Chi Ye whipped past hundreds of feet before she could scream.

Chi Ye landed before a filthy shed akin to animal stables.

The shed outside reeked, and over the ground lay raggedly dressed prisoners.

It was the place meant for imprisoning male war prisoners from the Human Clan.

This sort of place, Shui Yaoyao would never typically visit.

Upon realizing where she was, Shui Yaoyao understood Chi Ye’s likely intentions.

"No, Chi Ye, you can’t do this to me!"

Shui Yaoyao screamed.

She loved Chi Ye deeply, willing to throw herself at him, yet Chi Ye planned to push her... Was his heart made of stone?

She suddenly couldn’t make a sound, eyes wide in terror, as Chi Ye tossed her into the prisoner tent.

The prisoners, startled by the commotion, saw a naked woman from the Demon Clan roll in.

These prisoners hadn’t tasted the pleasure of a woman in ages; they all rushed at her.

Shameful tears rolled from Shui Yaoyao’s eyes, but the drug in her body took effect, allowing the prisoners to do as they pleased with her.

Chi Ye’s lips curled cruelly, and he swiftly exited the war prisoner tent.

Within him, intense drug effects surged like a tidal wave.

He cursed, knowing he desperately needed a woman to relieve the heat.

If it weren’t for that damned little maid, he wouldn’t have been so humiliated.

The more Chi Ye thought, the more irritated he became, the urge within him growing stronger.

He recalled the little maid lived by Shui Yaoyao’s tent.

Since she stirred the flame, she must be the one to quench it.

A dark shadow darted into Wuyue’s tent.

"Damn it!"

The tent inside was empty.

Chi Ye, enraged, kicked apart Wuyue’s bed, the drug effects escalating, feeling as though he might combust.

Chi Ye had never been in such a predicament before.

He staggered toward his own tent.

At the tent entrance, Chi Ye was feverish as if burning, his eyes turning blood-red from the drug.

But just as he stepped into the dark tent, intending to summon the Chi Prison Army, he noticed something.

Outside the tent, familiar footsteps caused Chi Ye’s blood to instantly boil.

It was that little maid.

Everyone’s footsteps are unique; the maid walked lightly, like a cat.

Chi Ye was like a starved wild beast discovering a tempting prey.

The footsteps at the door showed some hesitation, Chi Ye, suppressing his wild cravings, lay on the bed.

The tent flap was drawn open, Wuyue cautiously peered in, seeing Chi Ye lying still, she sighed in relief and tiptoed inside.

Wuyue first checked the water pot, confirmed it was empty, then relaxed. She checked Chi Ye’s bedside, the Merit Book still laying in place.
