"There’s nothing wrong with having a nice dream... And if it really turns out to be a priceless treasure, then I’ll definitely give it to you," Chen Tianyu said as he leaned closer beside her.

Lin Xingxue tilted her head to the side, not really understanding what he meant.

But before he could ask, in the next second, Chen Tianyu had already explained the meaning of his words. "After all, with my strength, I can keep getting stronger even without the help of any equipment."

Lin Xingxue: "..."

The corner of her mouth twitched a little as she rubbed the side of her forehead with her hand. She should have known that this guy would not say anything serious!

"Here we are," Song Yuan said as he stopped in front of the door to the old building, bringing back Lin Xingxue’s attention.

She looked around the surroundings in confusion before asking, "Vice Principal, what is there in here?"

"You’ll know once you get inside," Song Yuan replied calmly. Then, without waiting for their reaction, he opened the door and stepped inside.

However, the moment that he stepped inside the building, his figure had strangely disappeared from their sight, as if he was swallowed by the building.

The moment Chen Tianyu saw that, he instinctively stepped backward and hid behind Jiang Zihan. He sneaked his head out and pointed toward the door, his hands trembling. "Shiyan, did you see that? He just disappeared!"

Jiang Zihan felt a bit helpless. Why did Chen Tianyu always hide behind him? Does he actually provide a sense of security to him?

Before Jiang Zihan could think of a way to comfort the person shivering behind him, a powerful breeze suddenly swept toward him, catching them off guard.

Su Li frowned as she closed her eyes, but she wasn’t able to detect a single trace of magical energy within the building.

The doors started moving violently because of the wind, letting out a squeaking sound. Then it suddenly opened up completely and tried to drag them toward the entrance.

Jiang Zihan: "!!!"

He instinctively held onto the door at the last second, but because the force of the wind was way too strong, he could barely hold himself steady. Chen Tianyu had already closed his eyes and clung tightly to him; the extra weight made it even harder for Jiang Zihan to hold on.

Without another way, Jiang Zihan quickly activated his magical energy, though he was shocked to find out that even so, he was still not able to steady himself. In the end, he was dragged into the building, and his consciousness drowned in the darkness.

His teammates were no better than him, and were all dragged into the building one after another. After that, the door suddenly shut behind them as the wind also stopped. Everything returned to silence, as though nothing had happened just before.

——

It’s so cold over here...

Can someone come save me?

Please... anyone, save me...

Jiang Zihan suddenly snapped his eyes open, and sat down immediately. He panted heavily, as if he had just experienced a nightmare. After he forced himself to calm down, he turned his head and looked at his surroundings. All he could see was the endless darkness with nothing else.

Jiang Zihan: "..."

This again...

He had literally experienced this kind of darkness more than three times already... ever since he transmigrated into this world. Can’t they come up with something new instead?

Based on his previous experience, he knew for sure that he would not be able to leave this place so easily, though there usually isn’t anything dangerous over here, so he just found a place (although it looks exactly the same everywhere) that seems comfortable and just laid down to the floor. He had been a bit tired, especially after the continuous battles for the competition, so it’s a good time for him to take a break.

While he was closing his eyes, he somehow had a feeling that he forgot something, but since he couldn’t remember it, then it shouldn’t be important.

[A/N: Chen Tianyu: You forgot about me!!]

Unfortunately, this place seemed determined not to let him relax so easily. Not long later, he heard some weird noises coming from far away.

Jiang Zihan frowned a little as he sat back up and stared at the endless darkness cautiously. What sound was that?

He instantly wanted to gather his magical energy above his palm, but as always, he was not allowed to use his Hunter ability in this place. Even his physical condition had reverted to what it had been when he had just transmigrated to this world... or rather, even worse than that.

The sound was closer and closer, sounded like something heavy was being dragged across the floor. His instincts were telling him that something dangerous was coming close and telling him to run, though he had no idea where he could run to.

The noise grew louder. A few minutes later, it stopped a few meters away from him. He looked up and realized that it was Mo Shiyan.

Before he could let out a sigh of relief, he felt that something wasn’t right. The person in front of him wasn’t Mo Shiyan. Or more precisely... He looked exactly like the "Mo Shiyan" Jiang Zihan had once taken care of when he was still playing the game.

That expression... he was more than familiar.

"Shiyan...?" He called his name tentatively, though there was no response.

"Mo Shiyan" raised his head and stared straight at him. That gaze caused him to shiver a little, which he subconsciously stepped back a little.

Fortunately, the person in front of him did not make any other movements, though just him standing here caused Jiang Zihan to feel a bit uneasy. "Mo Shiyan" observed him from head to toe, and Jiang Zihan did not even dare to breathe.

He is now more than certain that the "Mo Shiyan" standing in front of him was the person that he wasn’t able to save when he was playing the game.
