Jiang Zihan: "!!!"

He suddenly felt a sense of danger coming from that beam of light. He knew that he would be severely injured if he didn’t dodge this attack, but there’s not enough time for him to dodge.

He bit hard on his lower lip, trying to calm himself down. Then he suddenly raised his left hand and clenched his fingers tight.

Not sure if it’ll work as I expected, but I could only try!

In the next second, the ice crystals within his Domain started trembling as it was drawn together by an invisible force. They quickly gathered together and stacked up layer by layer, forming a protective ice barrier in front of him.

BOOM!

The beam of light hit straight onto the protective barrier, which the first layer of the barrier shattered almost instantly. Then the second layer shattered too, followed by the third...

Facing such powerful force, the ice barrier had barely held for thirty seconds. Gritting his teeth, Jiang Zihan forced himself to jump to the side and roll across the floor to dodge the attack.

However, the beam had still grazed his shoulder, which caused a large wound to appear on his shoulder immediately.

"Hiss—"

He couldn’t help but let out a soft gasp because of the pain. He placed a hand on top of his shoulder, and he panted heavily. The searing pain had caused him to frown when he suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood. He immediately wiped off the blood that rolled down the corner of his mouth, and then stared straight at the monster in front of him.

What terrifying power it has!

If he didn’t gather those layers of ice in front of him before (in order to weaken its power), that strike would nearly have killed him.

Seeing that the monster was preparing for its next attack, he knew that he could no longer wait. A fierce light flickered through his eyes, and he slowly took a deep breath and lowered his arm.

In the next moment, countless strands of light purple thread suddenly came out of all directions and tightened around the monster’s body.

Noticing that, it immediately wanted to struggle, which Jiang Zihan then increased the magical energy that he’s using. Blood began to seep from the wounds caused by the tightening of the threads, and a drop of blood slid down one of them, painting that strand of thread red.

As the amount of magical energy he used had reached its absolute limit, the temperature in the Domain decreased dramatically, which the monster’s body had somehow stiffened. In the next moment, the monster realized that his legs were frozen, and he couldn’t even move at all. It struggled frantically but was still unable to break from the control of the threads, and not long later, his whole body had been frozen.

What’s different this time is that it would not be able to break free that easily like it did before.

Jiang Zihan immediately seized the chance to pull the long sword from the ground. As a chilling gleam gathered at the tip of the blade, he swung it down the monster’s body. A few seconds later, the monster stopped struggling and finally fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

Seeing that the monster’s finally dead, he let out a long breath before he leaned back against the dungeon wall and slowly slid down to the ground. "Finally... everything’s over..." he muttered to himself.

Jiang Zihan did not think that a fight with a C-Rank monster would have nearly cost him his life. He lowered his eyes and stared at the sword in his hand.

If it wasn’t for this sword, I would have died. I’m still too weak...

Then he closed his eyes. According to the host’s words, eliminating a C-Rank monster would add a total of twenty points to the score card. However, the card is currently in Mo Shiyan’s hands, so I could not confirm how many points we have right now.

As he was thinking about that, he glanced at the monster’s corpse, as if waiting for something. After a few seconds, the corpse suddenly disintegrated into fragments and vanished into the air. Then a C-Rank crystal core was formed in place (which is what Jiang Zihan had been waiting for).

He stood back up and walked over, putting the crystal core carefully into his spatial ring. This is very valuable and can be used to forge some useful equipment once the competition is over.

Although the monster had disappeared, the bloodstains on the ground remained. If I continue to stay here, the smell of blood might attract other monsters, which might be C-Rank or higher. I was injured pretty severely during the battle, and if that happens, I might not be able to leave that easily.

At least... I have to quickly find Mo Shiyan and the others.

After making his decision, he clutched his fist tightly and stumbled over to the right. He pressed his other hand on his shoulder, but blood was still seeping through his fingers.

Jiang Zihan’s head was growing a bit dizzy, and his steps had turned very heavy. Each step he took had sent a searing pain through his wound, but he did not dare to stop.

The battle from before had totally drained his physical strength and magical energy, and even if he encountered a F-Rank monster, it might still kill him.

The last attack that the monster had made... if it wasn’t because he had managed to use the Domain to weaken its attack at the very last minute, he wouldn’t even be able to stand right now.

He held the Teleportation Talisman tightly in his hand. That was a piece of equipment that the teacher had handed to every student, and if they faced any danger that might threaten their life, they could crush it immediately to teleport them out of the dungeon.

Then he threw it back into his spatial ring. I could still continue...
