After getting all the things planned and double-checking his notes to make sure that everything was correct, Jiang Zihan finally pulled the quilt over himself and went back to sleep peacefully.

What he did not notice was that the person on the other bed had quietly opened his eyes. He stared in his direction for a moment before silently closing them again.

——

"Jiang Zihan... why did you do this to me? It hurts... It hurts so much. My body hurts so much..."

Jiang Zihan looked around. It was pitch dark around, with nothing to be seen.

"Who is it? Come out!" he shouted in panic, but there was no response.

Then a voice suddenly came from behind him, as if the person speaking was standing right behind him. He could even feel the person’s breath brushing against his ears. He immediately turned around but saw nothing behind him.

Where in the world am I?

"Jiang Zihan... I’m so scared... I’m so cold... Why won’t you come with me?"

The voice rose again. Before he could react, he suddenly felt that something was pulling him from below. He lowered his head and saw countless hands emerging from the darkness, clutching his legs and pulling him down towards the unknown.

"Wait! Someone help!"

He struggled desperately, but the more he struggled, the faster he sank, until he completely disappeared in the endless void.

Ring— ring—

Jiang Zihan pulled the pillow over his head, ignoring the sound of the alarm.

The phone continued to ring, giving him a headache. Half-asleep, he subconsciously reached out and silenced the alarm, then rolled over to continue sleeping.

The next second, Jiang Zihan’s eyes snapped open, and he hurriedly sat up. Then he pressed a hand tightly to his chest as he panted heavily.

After he had calmed himself down a little, he rubbed his forehead and shook his head helplessly.

What did I even dream of yesterday? It nearly scared me to death.

He quickly threw that dream to the back of his head and took a look at his phone. Then he froze in place as he saw the time: 6:30 AM.

Damn it... I’m going to be late for work!

He hurried out of bed and rushed into the bathroom. Just as he reached for his toothbrush, his eyes landed on the reflection of the mirror.

He froze for a moment.

Oh yeah... I’m no longer Lu Ye anymore. I no longer need to go to work.

He let out a self-deprecating smile as he quietly placed the toothbrush back down. Then he stepped into the shower; the spray of water washed over his body, waking him up completely.

After he got himself ready, he reopened the door and stopped in place.

Mo Shiyan was already seated at the table, resting his head under one hand, and watching him quietly. There were several plates of breakfast placed in front of him, steam still rising from the food.

...Why does Mo Shiyan look so well-behaved all of a sudden? Jiang Zihan couldn’t help thinking.

"Mo Shiyan... these are all?" he asked.

"Weren’t you the one who ordered me to prepare breakfast for you every day?" Mo Shiyan asked back, his tone calm and emotionless as they usually were.

Did I? But I do not remember seeing anything like that in Jiang Zihan’s memories...

The little "Jiang Zihan" inside Mo Shiyan’s mind tilted his head to the side, thoughtfully.

Mo Shiyan silently nodded.

Mo Shiyan doesn’t seem like the kind of person who would lie. Maybe my memories are a bit too messy after I transmigrated here yesterday, so I must have forgotten about it.

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he was about this explanation, so he threw the thought to the back of his mind right after persuading himself.

He tentatively walked over and sat down beside Mo Shiyan. Seeing that he didn’t show any sign of discomfort or impatience, he finally relaxed and reached out to grab something to eat.

"You made these all yourself?" he asked, his voice sounding a bit shocked.

It was so delicious! It was much better than anything he had eaten in his previous twenty-two years of life. He couldn’t stop himself and started to eat faster and faster.

"Yeah. There is a kitchen on the second floor for students who would like to cook for themselves. If you would like, you could also go to the dining hall for food," Mo Shiyan explained as he poured a glass of milk and handed it over to him.

Jiang Zihan accepted it without thinking and took a sip, as if he had done something like this countless times before.

Mo Shiyan is such a nice person. How did the original owner even have the thought of hurting such a nice boy? Getting such an ending was exactly what he deserved.

Inside Mo Shiyan’s mind, that little "Jiang Zihan" continued his daily routine of punching the original owner again mentally.

Mo Shiyan’s hand, which was reaching for a sandwich, suddenly paused. Noticing this, Jiang Zihan asked nervously, "What is it? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"

He totally forgot that he just promised to himself not to act out of character and be suspected.

"It’s nothing; I was just thinking about our schedule for the day," he replied while taking a bite of the sandwich.

"...Schedule?" Jiang Zihan repeated, his voice full of confusion.

Although he was still a bit confused, in order to not let Mo Shiyan suspect that he knew absolutely nothing about the school, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through the photo album, hoping to get some clues. He quickly scanned through the images and found a photo of the class schedule.

His first class on Tuesday was the "Monster Studies" Course.

Wait... Monster Studies?!!

He froze in place, his heart sinking. Although he already had some preparations that the courses in this world would be somewhat different than his original world, this is still way too different.
