Hearing his promise, Jiang Zihan let out a long breath before he rested his hand on the desk. After waiting for about five minutes, a male professor walked in, carrying a laptop in his arms.

Seeing this, Jiang Zihan immediately sat up straight, nervously twirling his pencil between his fingers. The professor placed his laptop on the podium before he looked around the classroom, then picked up the attendance sheet from the podium.

"Good afternoon, everyone," he said with a calm and gentle voice. "My name is Chu Yue, and I’ll be teaching your "Herbal Studies" course this semester."

Chu Yue seemed to look more like a college student instead of a teacher, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, and his long-black hair was slightly wavy and tied back into a ponytail. He did not look like a Hunter; instead, he seemed like a pampered young master who had been raised in luxury and ease.

But that does not lower Jiang Zihan’s wariness toward him, because the second Chu Yue placed the bag onto the podium, he somehow had a strange feeling.

Just as he had expected, in the next moment, Chu Yue took out a pile of test papers out of his bag and placed them onto the podium. "Before we officially begin the lesson for today, let us take a short quiz," he said.

Jiang Zihan: "!!!"

The little "Jiang Zihan" in Mo Shiyan’s mind seemed to have lost its color. He lay down on the floor and closed his eyes as if he had lost his soul and totally turned into a salted fish.

Noticing the expressions on the students’ faces, Chu Yue’s tone was still as calm as before, as he said, "There’s no need to be this nervous; this quiz would not count toward your final grade. I’m just using it to identify everyone’s current level of knowledge toward different magical herbs."

After saying so, he began to hand out the quiz papers. The second he placed the quiz in front of Jiang Zihan, he stiffly lowered his head and picked up his pencil, his hands still a bit trembling.

He had originally planned to ask Mo Shiyan to tutor him after class and help him catch up on everything he had missed, but now it seems like there’s no time for that anymore. Although he knows that this quiz wouldn’t count toward his grade, he still does not want to be seen as illiterate in this world!

There are only 25 minutes for him to complete the quiz, although he truly believed that even if the professor gave him two hours, he still wouldn’t be able to complete it.

There’s no other way; I have to go for it, he thought to himself and took a deep breath before lowering his head and looking toward the questions on the quiz.

Then he froze immediately the second he saw the first question:

[Which of the following magical herbs offers the strongest effect on restoring spiritual power?]

Moonlight Vine Evening Primrose Starlight Flower White Snow Lotus

Jiang Zihan stared at the question for more than ten seconds before he put down his pencil.

Great... It seems like he doesn’t even know what these options are about.

But at least these are all multiple-choice questions, such that if he takes a guess, there would always be a twenty-five percent chance that he might get it right.

After hesitating for a while, he picked up his pencil and circled "C". Then he looked at the second question, hoping that it would be about something that he knows.

[When creating a potion that would be capable of healing severe injuries, which ingredient is best suited to be paired with White Snow Lotus?]

Moonlight Vine Evening Primrose Starlight Flower Sunlight Flower

Jiang Zihan: "..."

Could he admit right now that he barely knows what a White Snow Lotus is...?

He lifted his head to take a look at the timer, realizing that there’s only twenty minutes left, so he circled "C" again.

Moving onto question 3, the question is asking about the typical growth environment of the Moonlight Vine, while the fourth question asks him that if there was a person who accidentally ingests a White Snow Lotus, what would happen to that person.

Jiang Zihan: "..."

He flipped through the whole quiz and was sad to realize that he doesn’t even know the answer to any of the questions. He randomly circled a few options that he thought made the most sense to him and silently put down his pen. Then he buried his head in his arms on the desk, deciding to pretend that he had never seen this test paper in his life.

It was the first time in his life that Jiang Zihan had ever felt that twenty-five minutes could be this long. The second Chu Yue announced that time was up and began collecting the papers, Jiang Zihan let out a long breath before quickly handing it over to him.

Days like this continued until Ling Mengyao reminded him that the auction had come ten days later. During that time, Jiang Zihan was so busy that he barely touched his bed.

He woke up early every morning for a run before going to classes. After class, he trained with his team members, and in the evenings, he would review his course materials with Mo Shiyan. Although that process was more tiring than he expected, he knew that this was a necessary part of the journey toward actually becoming a professional Hunter.

Fortunately, after experiencing such rigorous training, Jiang Zihan was finally able to not get knocked down by Song Yuan in the first round of combat for the "Combat Training" course. He was also able to receive a decent score on his exam for the "Herbal Studies" course.

——

Saturday morning—

"I have contacted them, but it seems like only Tianyu and Qingyi are able to come, and for the rest of them, their schedules conflicted with the time the auction was happening," Jiang Zihan said to Mo Shiyan after ending the call.

Mo Shiyan nodded his head in understanding. The both of them waited by the academy gates for a few minutes before they saw Chen Tianyu and Shen Qingyi’s figures as they ran toward their direction, panting heavily.

"There’s no need to rush; there’s still a lot of time," Jiang Zihan said when he quickly took out two bottles of water from his spatial ring and handed them over to them.

He and Mo Shiyan had received the spatial ring from Song Yuan on their second lesson of the "Combat Training" class. Although they were only D-Rank, it was enough for them to store everything they needed for now.

"I didn’t want you to wait so long out in the cold," Chen Tianyu explained after taking a sip of water, while Shen Qingyi quickly nodded beside him in agreement.

After they were all prepared to leave, Jiang Zihan planned to bring them over to the train station to ride the train to their destination when Chen Tianyu suddenly let out a mysterious smile.

"Follow me. I have a surprise for you all," Chen Tianyu said without explaining his words. Then he walked toward the opposite direction from which Jiang Zihan originally wanted to go. The three of them exchanged glances at each other before following behind with curiosity.

Chen Tianyu led them to an empty space with barely any people around. With his hands on his hips, he nodded in satisfaction about the place. Then he turned his head to look at them with a bright smile on his face. "Don’t be too surprised by what you’re gonna see!"

After he finished his words, the smile on his face slowly vanished as he closed his eyes and raised a hand in front of him. In the next moment, a white summoning formation suddenly emerged on the ground a few meters in front of him.

A fierce wind erupted, and the strong currents of air caused the three of them to raise their arms in front of them to shield their faces as the force continued to push them backwards.

After the wind stopped, Shen Qingyi slowly opened her eyes. The moment she was able to see clearly, her eyes immediately widened when she saw the large creature flying in front of Chen Tianyu. "This is... a Wing Spirit Butterfly?!" she exclaimed in disbelief.

Legend has it that when the world was first born, spirits had already existed within this world. They were a race born of the wind, capable of soaring freely over mountains, rivers, and oceans, drifting wherever the breeze took them.

However, even with their long lives, the spirits still could not escape death. When the first spirit reached the end of her life, she was unwilling to let her soul just fade away without leaving anything. She wanted her soul to continue flying in the skies freely, which she gathered all her magical energy and released her soul into the wind.
