Jiang Zihan felt a little weird, but he didn’t think too much about it. Just then, he suddenly realized that the strong aura Mo Shiyan had spread out before had already disappeared, and even the pheromones surrounding him were no longer as agitated as before, allowing him to let out a long breath.

As long as it’s somehow useful, then everything is worth it. Just as he was about to step back, his waist was gently held again.

"Wait..."

Jiang Zihan stood in place, his head tilted to the side, as if asking what he wanted through his gaze.

Mo Shiyan merely lowered his eyes and stared at the tooth mark on the back of Jiang Zihan’s neck, his expression unreadable. Deep within his heart, a sense of possessiveness seemed to grow.

However, he had not planned to show any of those thoughts to Jiang Zihan, as that might scare him away. He slowly lowered his hand and looked toward the clock before replying, "It’s nothing... There’s still some time before class begins. Go take a break, and I’ll go make you breakfast."

"How about your rut?" Jiang Zihan quickly asked, his voice filled with concern.

Mo Shiyan was stunned for a second before he ruffled Jiang Zihan’s head and tried to comfort him. "It’s over already, don’t worry about it."

"I said to not ruffle my hair anymore..." Jiang Zihan muttered again, although he didn’t actually stop Mo Shiyan from touching his hair.

But hearing Mo Shiyan’s words, he still let out a sigh of relief before he obediently turned around and went back to his bedroom. He hadn’t slept for the whole night, and now his eyes could barely stay open.

But before he completely closed the door, he sneaked his head out and reminded him. "If you are too tired, we could just go to the dining hall later. Don’t force yourself."

Mo Shiyan nodded his head with a light smile on his face. Then he waited until Jiang Zihan closed the bedroom door with a soft click before he turned around and walked into the kitchen.

The second he did so, he leaned weakly against the refrigerator and closed his eyes, sweat rolling down his forehead. Although temporarily marking an Omega had allowed his condition to be a bit more stable, his rut had recurred multiple times since his secondary presentation started. Unless he permanently marked an Omega, or else he wouldn’t be able to go through his rut completely.

He stared down at his hands, his expression calm. "At least... this is enough for now," he murmured to himself.

——

Jiang Zihan was awakened by the smell of the aroma of freshly cooked food. His nose moved a little when he slowly opened his eyes and sat up from the bed. The first thing he did after that was to touch the back of his neck—where his scent gland was.

After a few hours, the tooth mark had somewhat faded, though it still felt a little sensitive. Then he opened the bedroom door and looked around; he noticed that Mo Shiyan had already sat beside the table, with a cup of coffee in hand.

"You’re awake? Come have breakfast," Mo Shiyan said as he raised an eyebrow.

Jiang Zihan took a look at the clock; the corners of his mouth twitched a little. This could literally be called lunch already.

Mo Shiyan placed the coffee back onto the table and walked around it, pushing a bowl of hot soup toward him. "Have some first."

Jiang Zihan sat down, picked up the spoon, and took a taste. The warm soup slid down his throat, which immediately eased the hollow feeling in his stomach. His eyes lit up when he quickly took another sip. It was so delicious!

"Oh yeah... what class do we have today?" Jiang Zihan asked with curiosity.

"Our first class for today should be "Herbal Studies", but we have already learned the basics in high school, so it should be pretty easy," Mo Shiyan replied after taking a bite of his salad.

Jiang Zihan was reminded of what had happened the first day he transmigrated to this world. Recalling the 17% he got on the mid-term exam, he quickly turned his head to the side with guilt.

After they finished their breakfast, they walked together toward the academic building. By the time the two of them had arrived at the classroom, most of the students were already there. Jiang Zihan found a seat by the window and quickly pulled Mo Shiyan over. Then he took out his textbook from his backpack.

The next moment, he froze in place when he opened the textbook. The first lesson would be about the identification and medicinal property analysis of magical herbs. He stiffly flipped the page and saw a long list of complex names which he had never seen before.

Jiang Zihan: "..."

Because there were only a few months left before the admissions exam when he transmigrated to this world, he had spent most of his time learning about topics that would most likely be on the exam. There were not a lot of questions on Herbalism, so he didn’t review much about it.

After he got accepted into a Hunter Academy, Mo Shiyan had pulled him out basically everyday to train his newly awakened Hunter ability, so there’s even less time for him to learn about this.

He covered his face with both hands, unwilling to accept the fact that he had actually become illiterate in this world.

Mo Shiyan immediately noticed the strange look on his face and asked, "Zihan... is there anything wrong?"

"Oh... I’m fine," Jiang Zihan replied, his voice emotionless.

Before Mo Shiyan asked further, Jiang Zihan quickly turned to the side and grabbed Mo Shiyan by the shoulder with both hands as he cried out dramatically, "Shiyan, I couldn’t understand anything written in this textbook. You would help me, right?"

Mo Shiyan froze in place, his gaze shifting from his face to the textbook in front of him. Then he let out a light chuckle before he shook his head helplessly. "Don’t worry, I’ll review it with you when we get back."
