Chapter 57: Moon of the Nine Heavens

Jiang Zihan could sense that there was something bothering Mo Shiyan, but he had no idea what caused that change.

"Shiyan? Shiyan...?!" Jiang Zihan called his name tentatively as he waved a hand in front of Mo Shiyan’s face. "What are you thinking?"

Mo Shiyan finally raised his head. Before Jiang Zihan had the chance to speak, Mo Shiyan asked, "When have you been so familiar with Ling Mengyao?"

Jiang Zihan: "...?"

He didn’t really understand the meaning of this question, but he still answered him honestly. "I haven’t seen Mengyao since the battle that day. It was just today that she came to see the awakening; when you chased after Su Li, we talked for a while before she handed me this invitation."

Then he lowered his head and stared at the card. "Is there anything wrong with the card?" he asked as he examined it, his voice filled with confusion.

The little "Jiang Zihan" in Mo Shiyan’s mind also picked up the invitation from the floor and examined it carefully. His head tilted to one side as he still did not understand what Mo Shiyan was upset about.

Mo Shiyan: "..."

He let out a sigh before handing the invitation back to Jiang Zihan. "It’s getting late. We have class in the early morning tomorrow. Go take a shower first," he said.

Then Jiang Zihan suddenly felt that Mo Shiyan’s mood had turned a little better. Is he really that temperamental...?

With that question in mind, he nodded his head before walking into his bedroom to get his clothes. Watching his figure disappear into the distance, Mo Shiyan silently sat there for a while before he took out his phone from his pocket.

There was another message sent two hours ago by his ’biological sister’, urging him to go back to the Gu Family again. His fingers tightened around the phone before he let out a cold laugh and typed that he would be going back next month.

He had been playing this game with Gu Yuan for so long. It was time for everything to come to an end...

After a long discussion, they decided to let Mo Shiyan serve as the team’s captain and Jiang Zihan serve as the team’s vice captain. Jiang Zihan had been reluctant at the very beginning, but somehow ended up being convinced by his team members.

On the way to signing up for the competition, Jiang Zihan felt that something wasn’t right, though he couldn’t clearly understand where this feeling came from. It wasn’t until the teacher handed him an application that was more than ten pages long and requested the team’s captain and vice-captain to fill it out that he finally realized what’s wrong.

Jiang Zihan: "..."

So this was the problem.

He turned his head and saw that Chen Tianyu’s cheeks were brushed red, as though he was desperately trying not to laugh. When he looked at the others, he found them all turning their faces to the side, not daring to meet his eyes.

Then he heard a soft chuckle coming from the right, and realized that even Shen Qingyi had placed her hand over her lips, hiding the smile that was rising at the corners of her mouth.

Jiang Zihan: "!!!"

Can I still apply to change teammates?

Staring at the application form in his hands, he fell silent, as he totally did not know how to start. Suddenly, a hand reached out and took the application from his hand. He looked to the side and noticed that it was Mo Shiyan.

Mo Shiyan flipped through the pages before asking the teacher for a pen and began filling them out. Seeing this, Chen Tianyu and the others quickly walked up to help out. They were just kidding and did not actually plan to just stand there and watch their captain fill out everything by himself.

However, when they were trying to fill out their team name, they became a little indecisive.

"What suggestions do you all have?" Jiang Zihan asked as he looked at his team members.

The five of them glanced at each other, but didn’t have any nice ideas.

"What about calling it the Moon of the Nine Heavens?" Shen Qingyi suddenly said.

Since everyone else in the team was terrible at coming up with names, they quickly agreed to this name and wrote it down on the application.

Once all the information had been filled in, the teacher scanned through the application and let out a gentle smile. "Moon of the Nine Heavens... Fate once hung beyond the Nine Heavens, but at the end, it still descended upon the mortal world... that’s a very good team name. I hope that you all get a good score in the Freshmen Showcase Tournament."

"We will," Mo Shiyan responded before they left the building.

It’s not yet winter, so the sunlight shining on them still made their body warm up.

"What’s next?" Shen Qingci asked.

"Well... there’s class today, so I believe that we should go to class now," Lin Xingxue said as she looked at her schedule.

"Oh my!" Chen Tianyu suddenly cried out after hearing her words.

"Tianyu, are you okay?" Jiang Zihan asked with concern.

"I forgot that we have class; I’ve got to go!" he replied. Before Jiang Zihan had the chance to say anything, he already ran away.

Jiang Zihan stared at his back, and he murmured helplessly, "I was just about to say... you left your backpack."
