Mo Shiyan raised his head and was just about to say ’no’ when the little "Jiang Zihan" appeared in his mind again. It seemed to be super nervous, running around in circles anxiously.

Look at him... he must have been bullied again. I should have taken another bite on Gu Yan before!

Mo Shiyan closed his mouth and quickly changed his tone. He pressed a hand on his chest and coughed softly.

Jiang Zihan immediately stepped closer, patting gently on his back to help him catch his breath.

"Thank you for worrying about me, but I’m okay. They... they didn’t really do anything to me," Mo Shiyan said weakly, then he coughed even harder.

That made Jiang Zihan’s heart ache. I knew that I shouldn’t have left him alone. Look how weak he is now.

Mo Shiyan: "..."

Jiang Zihan clenched his fist, his expression determined. Don’t worry. I’ll definitely get into Hunter Academy and protect you. I’ll never let you suffer like this again.

A light smile appeared on the corners of Mo Shiyan’s lips.

Whenever there’s news about an upcoming exam, time always seems to fly by for students.

Over the past few months, Jiang Zihan had completely thrown himself into the sea of books, trying his best to absorb all the knowledge he could access. He had been a straight-A student before he transmigrated to this world, and maybe because the transmigration process had caused his soul to grow stronger, he even noticed that he gained the ability to remember what he sees at a glance. That had largely increased his efficiency.

Although three months wasn’t enough for him to absorb all the knowledge that the school had taught him in the past three years, it should be enough for him to take the entrance examination.

In the blink of an eye, the day of the academy entrance exam arrived. For every high school student, this was one of the most important days in their lives. It was not only because it was their first step toward entering a Hunter Academy, but also the day that decides if they have the qualifications for becoming a Hunter.

Jiang Zihan set his alarm three hours before the exam began to start preparing.

"Shiyan, hurry up! Wake up! Today is the day of the entrance exam. If we’re late, the proctors won’t let us in," Jiang Zihan said as he pulled Mo Shiyan out of bed.

Still half-asleep, Mo Shiyan let Jiang Zihan pull him out of bed, bring him to the bathroom, and get him ready to leave, while Mo Shiyan yawned the whole time.

After they were ready, Jiang Zihan pulled him out of the dorm.

On the way, he asked, "Did you remember to bring everything with you? Pencil, eraser, student ID, etc...?"

Mo Shiyan gave him a glance and purposely leaned against him, yawning again.

"That was your fifth time asking this question," he complained helplessly.

"I was just checking to make sure," Jiang Zihan replied as he stuck out his tongue.

"Let’s go; it’s almost time," he continued as he led Mo Shiyan toward the exam hall.

Luckily, they were assigned to the same room. Mo Shiyan’s seat was even in the third row by the window—the classic seat for the main protagonist.

The exam lasted three hours. After the proctor finished reading the rules out loud, the test officially began. Silence spread, and there was only the soft rustling of the students flipping papers and the scratch of pencils against the paper.

It was raining outside the exam hall. There was a crowd of parents who stood outside waiting with their umbrellas. Jiang Zihan’s mother was also a part of them, staring at the door as she anxiously searched for her son.

At last, her eyes lit up, and she raised her hand up high. "Zihan, here!"

Her voice drew the attention of the nearby parents, their eyes fixed on Jiang Zihan. That made him even more nervous.

This was the first time he saw the mother of the original "Jiang Zihan". Every time Jiang Zihan’s mother called him on the phone, he always refused to talk for too long because he was worried that his mother would find out that he’s not his son.

He could lie to everyone else, including himself, that he’s the actual "Jiang Zihan". But how could he lie to a mother who loves her son so deeply?

He walked toward her with a complicated expression, forcing a smile on his face. "Mom, the rain is so heavy. Didn’t I tell you to stay at home?"

He naturally took the umbrella from her hand so that she had the chance to hand him the lunch box she had brought with her.

"Today is your entrance exam. How could I just stay at home?" she replied with a warm smile.

"Try this. You must be hungry after such a long exam. Once you get home, I’ll prepare some nice meals for you," she continued.

"Mom, wait a second. I have a friend that I would like to introduce," Jiang Zihan said as he pulled over Mo Shiyan, who had been standing nearby, waiting for them to finish their conversation.

"This is...?"

"This is Mo Shiyan, and he’s my roommate. Can he stay with us over the break?" Jiang Zihan asked as he looked at his mother with hopeful eyes.

It was the first time Jiang Zihan had ever asked to bring someone home. His mother hesitated for a moment.

Before she could answer, Mo Shiyan silently pulled away his hand and said politely, "Thank you, Auntie. But I don’t want to bother you both—"

Before he could finish his sentence, his arm was already held by Jiang Zihan’s mother. "Not disturbing at all! Instead, I’m really happy that Zihan has made a friend at school. I thought that he would never have friends because of his personality."

"If you don’t mind, would you be willing to tell me about what Zihan was like at school? This child doesn’t like telling me about his life there."
