Chapter 620: Interrupted
Chapter 620: Interrupted
Braxton’s head fell to his shoulders. His body started to shake.
“Ha….ha…. Ha…. this might be… the single greatest day I’ve ever had.”
Michael exceeded all of his expectations and more.
Somehow, Michael not only had a better grasp of the Mystic Arts than him, but he also showed that he had a hidden speed that could even surpass that of his attacks!
“Michael…. Michael…. MICHAEL OINK OINK~~~~”
Braxton charged towards Michael at extremely fast speeds, with his expression showing complete and utter adoration for him.
Michael was caught off guard at first. He was expecting a violent, almost angry retaliation after what he had just shown off.
Not only did he completely take over the magical pigs and render them useless, but he also showed that he could easily dodge Braxton’s attack! He would have thought that Braxton would want to regain his pride as the renowned future Mystic Master.
But instead, there was an expression of borderline obsessive look on Braxton’s face.
He clicked the switch in his hands, with the Unity Saber flashing into existence.
He then closed his eyes, gathering the power from his GodForge pieces and commanding his Aubility Power to gather at his hands.
His mind reeled back to Harbinger’s demonstration as he copied every single thing that his Diva did to execute the ’Quantum Slash’.
Reality started to warp around his wrists as he raised the Unity Saber above his head.
He was ready to unleash the strongest attack he had ever attained.
The only thing that he had to do was use the 300% AP charge on his battery, boosting the power in his hands to let the warping of reality transition into the ripping of the fabric of space.
With Braxton bearing down on him, he brought down his Unity Saber, about to unleash it, when all of a sudden, he heard the sound of horns echoing out from the skies above.
TOOT TOTO TOOOO!
Everyone stopped in their tracks as the Pocket Dimension itself started to transport their bodies back into the auction area.
Alaric and Potbol, who were still engaged in a fierce fight, looked dissatisfied as their fight got interrupted.
As for Aerith and Bobby, their faces turned into shock and disappointment as they realized what this all meant.
They looked towards Dicky, who held all five flags in their possession.
He was now on the ground, unconscious, as men in black and white suits gathered around him.
These were none other than the Secret Service of the royal family, the Duchess’ personal guards and servants.
All seven flags were in their possession.
Somehow, in the heat of all the intense battles, everyone completely forgot that there was one other group in the game.
These Secret Service men, like their namesake, kept their presence hidden throughout this whole game and waited for the opportune moment to strike.
And all of their waiting paid off. While everyone was busy fighting each other, they stole the flags right under everyone’s noses, getting them the win for the bid.
“THE WINNER HAS BEEN DECIDED! Players, return to the stage!” Barnaby announced, his voice echoing throughout all the corners of the Pocket Dimension.
Just as Braxton and Michael were about to clash, they were teleported back into the stage.
Michael found himself back in the auction room, staring at the crowd around him.
He quickly unclicked the switch, turning off the Unity Saber.
That was close. I almost had to use my ’Quantum Slash’.
He treated his new Quantum techniques as his trump cards. He didn’t want to use them at all if possible so that he could have the element of surprise during the next game, where 15 drops of Soo was on the line.
“Oink…oink…”
Michael shivered. He looked to his side and saw Braxton looking at him with a smile on his face.
What’s up with him?
“Congratulations to the Duchess and the Royal Family! You have won the bidding for the automobile for 1 billion gold coins!”
Everyone looked up and clapped at the Duchess visible from her VIP room. She was twisting her wrist around, which was the way that royals waved at other people.
The two Secret Service who won her the bid bowed down to her, showing their deference.
“Damn! I completely forgot about those guys!”
“That’s the Secret Service! That’s what they’re good at.”
“I’m sure the Legacies aren’t too happy about that. They almost had the game on their hands. They had all five flags!”
As expected, Alaric, Bobby, and Aerith could only stare at the automobile on stage with longing in their faces. They tried so hard and had to sacrifice so many players in the game, but in the end, they still lost the bidding.
While everyone was still reeling from the abrupt ending for the game, Barnaby quickly took to the stage and announced their next game.
“As you all know, our game for the 15 drops of Soo will immediately commence after the previous game’s conclusion!”
Alaric, Bobby, and Aerith’s disappointment became more clear after this announcement.
After all, Aerith and Alaric only had one member from their team left still standing. The others were knocked out and unconscious, meaning that they couldn’t participate in the next game.
Bobby had no members left on his team, which meant that he’d have to go in the game alone.
As for the Knights, Potbol and two others were left still standing.
For the mages, Braxton and one other fellow was still viable to play.
And as for the Secret Service men, they had two members still left on their team. They were the ones who had sneaked throughout the battlefield and stole all the flags from the other teams.
All in all, the players for this next match were less than half of the original players in the game.
The game for the automobiles had proven to be quite brutal. This only goes to show how much people wanted to obtain these next-level technological advancements.
[Kukuku…Michael, are you ready to go all out?]
Harbinger’s question was more of a suggestion. There was nothing that the Diva would like more than Michael having to fight Maugnetics three to four stages above him.
I think I’ll do the stealth method this time. It worked for the Secret Service, I think it’ll work for me.
He was planning on scouting ahead with his drones, maybe even charging them for a little bit at a time, and only showing off his new powers when the Soo drops were on the line.
Suddenly, he shivered again.
That guy’s still looking at me, he said, side-eyeing Braxton.
That could pose a problem. After all, it looked like Braxton was raring to continue where they left off from the game.
Nope… I’ll have to avoid him at all costs. No fighting till I’m sure I’m getting my Soo drops.
He looked at Braxton and memorized the Light mana signatures coming from his body. Not only that, but he secretly used his Drone to peer through his GodForge pieces and also memorized the heat signature for his Aubility Powers.
Just then, Barnaby looked at everyone and opened his hands wide.
“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, ARE YOU READY FOR THE FINALE FOR TONIGHT’S AUCTION?”
