Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 619: Braxton’s attack

Chapter 619: Braxton’s attack

Braxton was flabbergasted seeing his little piggies get taken away from him. No matter how hard he grasped the magic he had put out, he couldn’t get a hold of them. The mana themselves were shying away from him.

Never in his life did this ever happen before. Even when he was training with the Mystic Masters, they had never fully taken his mana away from him. They could challenge his magic, trying to make him lose his grip, but they would never succeed. He always had full control over his own.

Hailed and trained as the next up and coming Mystic Master, he always thought that he was better than anyone when it came to magic. He thought he knew everything.

But this was the unknown. For the first time in his life, he felt alien to the mana that had once been like his own limb.

And this wasn’t done to him by his seniors. This wasn’t done by the so-called masters of the Mystic Arts.

This was done by a child with golden hair, younger only to him by a few years.

Braxton narrowed his eyes, gaze filled with competitiveness. He felt his blood boiling, not with anger, but with excitement! He had always been stronger than his peers, defeating them with ease. Could this boy be the challenge he’d been wishing for?

“Who are you?” Braxton asked.

“Michael.”

Braxton smiled. “Michael? I am Braxton Higgs, and our battle will be legendary!” he announced, with his voice booming up to the crowd above.

As soon as he said this, people became anxious for Michael. Although many could agree that Michael was way more talented than Braxton when it came to the Mystic Arts, that didn’t mean that he could overcome the gap between a 4th stage cultivation and the peak of the 9th stage.

“Damn. Alaric is caught up with his fight with Potbol. Aerith and Bobby are also occupied with the Knights and the Mages. Michael’s done!”

Braxton raised his wand, with its pristine red glow showing it to be as near to perfect as a Mithril Relic could be. The power of magic and Aubilities swirled in the air, with the reality around Braxton slowly bending to his will.

And as soon as Dicky saw this, he immediately panicked. “Let’s escape! We just have to wait a little bit longer and we’ll have our help. Aerith and Bobby will defeat those guys in a few moments.”

Dicky turned to run away, wanting to protect the flags they’ve gathered. They had five flags! If Braxton caught them, all of their efforts would be for naught.

But Michael stayed behind.

“What are you doing?! Let’s run!”

“There’s no point,” Michael muttered. “He would have caught up to us no matter what we did.”

Dicky pursed his lips, knowing that Michael was right. But running away still gave them a chance, even if it was close to zero.

“Catch,” he said as he threw the green flag to Dicky, who flusteredly juggled it in his hands with a surprised look on his face.

“You’re not doing what I think you’re doing, right?” Dicky asked hurriedly. “Because in my perspective, it looks like you want to stay behind and fight Braxton!”

Michael nodded. “He’s aiming for me. I’ll distract him and you run away with the flags.”

“Are you crazy?! If we don’t stand a chance, then you won’t!”

Because of the situation, Dicky had no choice but to say the truth bluntly.

But even with that, Michael still stayed behind, adamant in his decision.

And before Dicky could persuade Michael again, Braxton finally made his move.

Waving his wand around, he pointed at Michael. Stacked giant magic circles appeared in the air, creating a 3D shape with complex geometry.

With his Drone Vision, Michael saw a combination of both mana and Aubility Power weaved into the very fabric of Braxton’s spell.

One look and Michael knew that he didn’t have the physical or magical ability to escape from this power.

He had to use his Quantum Aubilities.

He had 327% battery charge at the moment, meaning if he dipped into his own Aubility Power, he could use his ’Quantum Step’ and his very new ’Quantum Slash’.

Granted he had never used it before, he was confident that the heat of the battle would allow him to bring out the ’Quantum Slash’ at the moment he needed it the most.

The surge of magic and Aubility Power inside the layered magic circle reached a peak. Barnaby was going to shoot!

A large projection of Braxton’s face manifested in the air, with his expression in a stern and puckered face, as if using his lips as a spear itself.

And then, the projected face shot towards Michael.

In normal people’s eyes, everything happened in an instant. They saw a blur, and the face shot towards Michael without a moment of delay.

A deafening shockwave rang out, even making the crowd recoil from their seats.

Once everything settled down, they peeked back into the Pocket Dimension and saw a large hole from where Michael stood. It was a hole in the perfect size and shape of Braxton’s projected face.

Dicky stood there, with his hand outstretched towards where Michael stood. He was too late.

Everyone was silent. They knew Michael would get eliminated one way or another, but they didn’t think that it would be in such a gruesome manner. If the Pocket Dimension’s security protocol wasn’t in place, then Michael would have turned into pure mist.

They all looked down at the stage, thinking they would see Michael’s unconscious body teleported to safety.

But it was empty.

A gasp rang out from the crowd, pointing at the Pocket Dimension.

Many more followed suit.

Ten meters away from the giant hole in the ground, Michael kneeled on the ground, safe.

“WHAT?!”

“DID ANY OF YOU JUST SEE THAT?!”

“What? What happened?”

Some people were still watching the fight between Alaric and Potbol. And their attention was only pulled away once people began pointing at the other side of the battlefield.

No one could figure out how Michael was able to dodge away from Braxton’s attack at the last second.

Everything occurred faster than the blink of an eye. Yet, Michael was still somehow able to escape unharmed yet again!

For many who were paying attention, this was not the first time Michael had somehow dodged an ’undodgeable’ attack!

Many were now speculating that this was no accident nor a lucky break.

“He dodged that for sure.”

“What? How can he? He’s good at magic, but Braxton’s attack was filled with his 9th stage Aubility! There’s no way that Michael could have even seen or dodged away from that.”

Yet, the outcome was clear.

Michael stayed in the game against an attack from Braxton.

Dicky looked at Michael with his jaws wide open.

One second, Michael seemed to have disintegrated into the dust, and the next second, he was on the other side of the hole.

“That’s not possible…”

Even Braxton was left speechless. Unlike everyone, he saw everything as clear as day.

He saw Michael disappear at the very moment that the attack was about to hit him, meaning that he outmaneuvered an attack from a 9th stage Maugnetic!
