Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 614: Back to base

Chapter 614: Back to base

At the moment that the blob of light appeared, Michael didn’t think of it as an attack on him. No. It was an opportunity given to him to charge his batteries!

So, when the blob of light crashed through his prismatic shield, he immediately looked through the individual strings of its Aubility Power and manipulated it for his own gain.

He looked down at the battery on his chest and saw that it had gone up from the original 37% to 47%!

And added with the 80% charge he got from the two drones, then he had a total of 127 percent battery, enough for four ’Quantum Steps’!

“I’m lucky these guys softened the blow,” he blurted out with an awkward chuckle.

Even before they asked, he already explained that the three 8th stage Maugnetics beside him were the ones who absorbed most of the damage.

This seemed to be enough for Bobby, as he immediately took his words as the truth. “Well, they did their job alright! It’s good that you weren’t hurt too bad.”

Aerith was still a little bit shocked and was still a bit skeptical about accepting his answer, but she steeled herself and went on over to their three injured allies.

She used her needle, turning three fallen leaves into frogs. These frogs then used their tongues to lick the wounds of the injured, magically healing them in an instant.

Aside from giving diseases to anyone the frogs touched, it seemed that Aerith’s Aubility also allowed her to heal people.

And as she was hearing these injuries, she couldn’t help but notice that a part of Braxton’s 9th stage Aubility Power remained on their bodies, burning them indefinitely.

If it weren’t for her own Aubility fighting off this remnant, then their condition would have worsened tremendously over the next couple of seconds.

Although they were 8th stage Maugnetics, Braxton was still able to injure them so easily with a remnant of his power.

This made her all the more wonder how Michael was able to come out of that attack unscathed.

He was only in the 4th stage! Even a small graze from a 9th stage attack should have given him a critical injury at the very least. Yet he was the one less injured among them all.

Alaric was also speechless as he tried to think up of any other explanation as to how Michael, once again, escaped from a near grave injury.

However, he knew that he couldn’t linger on this question for too long because they had to keep moving.

“They’re probably attacking our base as we speak. Michael, I think you should hold on to this.”

Alaric handed Michael the blue flag of the Magic Tower. Since he was already holding a flag anyway, it would only make sense that he held that one as well. That way, they could protect him and the flags at the same time.

“Let’s go,” Alaric said, running off into the distance. Aerith and Bobby ran off with him.

Michael and his three allies protecting him set off not long after.

He made sure to act as if he couldn’t catch up with them and was lagging behind. But in truth, he just wanted to retrieve the charged batteries from his drones.

Once he discretely obtained them, he immediately poured the charge onto his personal battery.

This time, he had to use a second power bank, with one containing 100% and the other 27%.

Following Alaric’s lead, they ran for half an hour before they eventually heard the sound of an explosion echoing out in front of them.

Even without his drones, he saw signs of fights everywhere. Trees were getting blown into a million splinters, rocks were exploding out into the air, and all kinds of Aubilities were flying through the air.

“They already got here before us,” Alaric muttered, gritting his teeth.

The whole forest, which was usually colored a cool violet, was now brimming with orange and red glows as players released their Aubilities at each other. It was a cornucopia of charges just waiting to be siphoned.

“Oh no. They teamed up as well!” Aerith uttered in shock.

The Legacies team, which used to consist of ten Maugnetics, was now reduced to a mere two members.

Opposite them was a combination of Knights and Mages, numbering six members in total, all working together to steal the three flags under the Legacies’ belt.

Even though the Knights and the Mages had an unspoken rivalry that lasted throughout the ages, it seemed that they had to team up today to bring down the Legacies.

But it wasn’t necessarily their numbers advantage that allowed them to change the tides of battle so easily.

With his Drone Vision, he could see that among the Knights and the Mages, there was one person there that emanated a glow so bright that he almost felt like he was looking at the sun.

The man had a thin and lanky build, with minimal armor equipped. His most noticeable feature was his bald head, with a burn mark going across his forehead.

This guy looked like a monk in training, not a Knight.

“Potbol,” Alaric muttered under his breath, with a smile on his face. “I’ve been waiting to clash with him. You guys fight the others, I’ll deal with Potbol.”

Immediately, Alaric’s body blurred and disappeared in front of everyone’s eyes.

And before the other Knights and Mages could even react, there was a long chain shooting towards their leader.

And without even reacting, Potbol raised his huge and heavy battle axe with a casual swing, repelling the chain coming after his neck.

The other Knights and Mages saw Alaric in the distance and charged in his direction, knowing that he was the one they had to look out for.

Aerith and Bobby knew what they had to do. They charged and intercepted the five Maugnetics, preventing them from getting anywhere near Alaric.

With no other people around them, Alaric and Potbol faced each other, both sizing each other up.

Meanwhile, Michael met up with the two remaining members of the Legacies alliance.

“Michael! You survived!” Dicky shouted, greeting him with a huge hug of relief.

“It’s good you survived too. Looks like you were almost taken out.”

Dicky nodded and sighed. “We didn’t think that the Knights and Mages would work together. And most of all, that guy.”

He pointed at Potbol with fear in his eyes. “That guy’s a beast! He’s the one who whittled down our numbers until there were two of us left.”

Michael looked at Alaric and Potbol facing each other. They didn’t move. They just stared, as if waiting for something.

“But thank god Alaric and the others are back,” Dicky said, heaving a sigh of relief. “Alaric’s the only one who could defeat that guy.”

Meanwhile, the entire auction crowd had their eyes glued on the Pocket Dimension. This was one of their most awaited moments in the game!

Alaric versus Potbol.

Two of the strongest Maugnetics of the entirety of Metropolis! Many arguments were made about who was the strongest between them. And now, that question would be answered.

“Wait, Michael is still in the game!” people began to realize.
