Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 613: Fast charge

Chapter 613: Fast charge

According to Alaric, the mages were now probably on their way to their base to siege it and take their three flags.

This meant that they were probably tens of kilometers away from this place at the very least.

Yet, somehow, the three puppet mages were able to move and get ’resurrected’ without their caster being anywhere near here.

Even these thousands of homunculi only spawned after they were enclosed in this space.

This could only mean that the mages who set this up in the first place were still powering them with their own Aubilities from far away!

They were pumping out their AP, concentrating on it, to keep it active and alive. That was how the three mages looked like they were impervious to attacks, seemingly invulnerable to any damage.

In other words, those three mages were getting fed with a constant stream of AP with no breaks. This wasn’t the passive thread from normal Aubilities. This was an active thread!

It was as if the perfect timing that he had been trying to do the last time was extended to the entire duration of the fight!

As long as he attached his Drone to the magic circle on top, he could siphon off those Aubility Powers directly.

He immediately piloted both of his drones to fly straight up into the skies, wasting no moment.

As soon as he reached the giant magic circle, he saw that there was a collection of threads pooling at the very center and spreading out all around the wizards’ base.

I wish I had a bigger battery.

If he had, then he would have been able to gather all of these delicious Aubility Powers for himself.

However, he was limited by the size of his switch and his reverse graphite block, which combined, was only as big as his palm.

He piloted both drones to move to the very top, where all the threads of AP were gathered together.

And carefully, he maneuvered his Drone to push the battery as deep into this collection of Aubility Power streams as far as possible.

He dipped the entirety of the battery into the collection of AP, allowing him to intersect hundreds of threads at the same time.

His eyes widened as he saw the charge for his battery go up tick by tick.

[5%… 10%… 15%]

It was already fifteen percent on both batteries! That was already enough charge for one ’Quantum Step’!

However, because he was siphoning off a lot of AP from the three puppet mages and the homunculi, they became a lot weaker than they were supposed to.

A thousand homunculi rushed towards Bobby like they were blood thirsty zombies. Each of them were imbued with magic, shooting off basic spells towards him. But due to how many there were, their powers added up into something almost ground shattering.

Bobby raised his giant hammer, swinging it in front of him. The first line of homunculi felt themselves get squished down into a flat paste.

Their fleshy bodies tried to meld and reform together into a full homunculus, but an oppressing pressure left by Bobby’s Aubility kept them pinned down, unable to reform their bodies.

Bobby’s 9th stage cultivation showed its power. He was able to suppress the Aubilities in the homunculi, given that its caster was only in the 8th stage of Body Formation. He was easily able to destroy hundreds of them with each swing, easily whittling down their numbers.

But then, he noticed that even those that he hadn’t yet struck with his hammer were turning into a flesh paste. Unbeknownst to him, these were just homunculi that had lost their AP due to Michael’s siphoning.

Meanwhile, Aerith used her needle to pierce through as many homunculi as she could.

And just like with Bobby, her 9th stage Aubility was able to overpower the homunculi, turning them into her own frogs. These frogs stuck out their tongue to the other homunculi, imbuing them with a disease.

They’re defeating those homunculi too fast, Michael complained.

By siphoning off energy, he was making it a lot easier for the Legacies to wipe out the homunculi. And with less homunculi, the faster he was siphoning energy off of the magic circle, which in turn, leads to more homunculi getting destroyed.

[30%… 35%… 40%]

But as soon as he got up to 40 percent, all the homunculi on the ground started to malfunction. They shivered uncontrollably before falling into the ground and dissipating into pure mana.

Even the three puppet mages had their movements turn sluggish. Motes of mana began evaporating off their bodies, as if there wasn’t enough Aubility Power in their body to keep the mana in their body intact.

The giant magic circle in the sky started phasing in and out of existence before finally disappearing into nothingness.

The giant wall that enclosed them was no more, which was a cause for celebration for others, but a sad moment for Michael.

I wish it would have lasted a lot longer!

In such a short amount of time, he got a combined total of 80% charge on his batteries!

“It’s over,” Aerith said, taking a deep breath.

“We should head over to our base now. They’re probably invading it as we speak,” Bobby suggested.

Alaric nodded and was about to agree, when all of a sudden, he felt the chain on his body start to vibrate. Something was coming!

And suddenly, seven blobs of light appeared above them.

“HIHIHIHIHI!”

These mini sun-like objects grew eyes and a wide mouth, giggling as they eyed the people below.

Alaric narrowed his eyes, realized that these didn’t come from the same mages that had trapped them here. This was different. It was stronger.

This must be a remnant of Braxton’s spell!

Then, the seven blobs of light disappeared in a blur.

“TAKE COVER!” Alaric warned the others before using his own chain to protect himself from the blinding assault.

All seven of them had a smiling blob of light coming for them at near instantaneous speeds.

Aerith and Bobby used their weapons before using their Aubilities as a defensive mechanism.

The other three 8th stage Maugnetics that were protecting Michael released their attacks in the air, trying to weaken the force.

And without a second later, a blinding light permeated throughout the wizards’ base, turning everything white.

A couple of seconds later, the light subsided.

Alaric was unharmed, with his chain floating like a snake around him. However, the forestry around him was completely devastated, only leaving behind bare soil.

Aerith and Bobby were in a similar position. Everything around them was destroyed except for the patch of grass underneath their feet.

As for the three bodyguards protecting Michael, they were in a worse position.

The majority of their clothes were scorched, and their bodies had burn marks all over.

Unlike the three Legacies, they weren’t able to withstand the power of the of light, which was to be expected since it seemed to have been a remnant of Braxton’s power.

But amidst the three injured Maugnetics, Michael stood in place, with only a few burn marks on his body.

As surprising as it was, he remained unscathed as well.
