Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1451: Hero
Zion saw the boy in front of him and immediately, something inside him boiled. He moved. Faster than he had ever been. Faster than he ever thought was possible.
He moved behind the boy and covered him. He let the entirety of his Dragon body take the brunt force of the explosion.
His scales, which were made of the same material as Draconian Scales, were supposed to have the same durability as that of Nascent Armor. That’s what made Draconians so feared.
With the Old Witch’s barrage, Zion should have been able to defend against an attack like this easily.
At least, theoretically.
After all, one of the characteristics of Zion’s scales was that it was able to disperse force very effectively, almost making it nullified.
But at this point, Zion didn’t choose to disperse the force. If he did, his dragon body would be thrown forwards at a very fast speed, a speed surpassing even that of sound.
Zion would have been able to take that blow. But not the boy. This boy was a mortal, and he would not be able to take such fast acceleration.
So, Zion chose not to move. He stayed still, letting the Old Witch’s Nascent Spirit power barrage his back, damaging his wings, his tail, his scales.
By the end of it all, Zion released the boy. He opened his dragon arms, revealing that the boy was safe from harm. Not even a scratch on his body was found.
And in comparison, Zion’s entire body was smoking. From the front, he looked fine. In fact, he looked heroic.
"Dr...Dragon King!" the boy shouted, overjoyed to see his idol and hero right in front of him. "You saved me!"
Zion mustered out a laugh. "Ha... haha... hahahha... of course... for I am... for I am... the mighty... Dragon King...."
Then, he fell face first into the ground. His back was completely burned beyond reality. Even his armor was shattered beyond pieces, turning into nothing but ashes that fell from the air like snow.
Zion, the youngest Dragonborn, was a mere boy himself. He was not a powerful cultivator when he had evolved into a Dragon. He was only a Body Formation cultivator, and a very weak one at that.
This left his Dragon scales incredibly powerful, but left his insides mortal.
And after that attack, Zion breathed his last breath.
A sudden coldness emanated out of the Nation of Reborn. It could be felt by every single citizen, every single worker, every single soldier. And they knew, instinctively, that someone amongst them had fallen.
And at this moment, not even Kong could weep and grieve at this loss. His entire body was still undergoing a transformation. His mind, still embroiled in hardship as he transitioned from a mortal into near demi-godhood.
But even then, his soul knew what had happened. A single tear streaked from his eyes.

Meanwhile, back in Neo Orcus City, the two Shadow Orc Chieftains fought against the 7th and 6th ranked generals.
Around them, the Shadow Orcs had fought against the thousands of soldiers that the Worcester company had deployed for this war.
And despite the power difference between the two, they still persevered.
As for Narito and Sasuki, their opponents were far too powerful for them to face. They were merely on the 9th stage of the Body Formation realm, while they faced Nascent Spirit realm cultivators.
If it weren’t for the five Unity Clones helping them even the odds, they would have lost this fight long ago.
But even then, they were at a stalemate. No one was winning, no one was losing. Only destruction and chaos continued to grow in the streets of Neo Orcus.
"BU TO TO! Hold on steady, my men! Our Supreme Leader will soon emerge and he will break the balance between our fights! We will prevail!"
"RAH TA TA! Do not let them destroy any more of our territory! We will—"
It was at that moment that a cold breeze suddenly waved past the entirety of New Orcus. It immediately sent chills within every single Rebornian Citizen living in this town.
The Shadow Orcs felt their own shadows waver and shiver. Narito and Sasuki felt a sense of loss and grief overwhelming their entire body. It had caused them to make a brutal mistake in their fight, allowing the two generals to land a decent blow on them.
Two axes cleaved through the Shadow Orc Chieftains at the same time, as the 6th and 7th ranked generals blew past the Unity Clones.
"I did it! I killed the Orc first!"
"No, I did it first! You were a tad bit late!"
"No, I did!"
Narito and Sasuki’s chests burst with Orc blood. The axe had cut through their ribs, and almost reaching into their hearts.
It was a fatal injury. But even then, they weren’t even focusing on their enemy, who were debating on who would get the final strike.
They weren’t even focusing on their fatal injuries. Instead, they were focusing on that cold breeze. On that sense of loss they felt from the Nation of Reborn.
"Young Dragonborn..."
"Zion youth..."
Both of them felt a sense of complete loss as they realized who had left this mortal field.
And soon after that, the loss was immediately overwhelmed by anger and fury. Their Shadows seethed, like flames being poured with gas.
This difference was immediately noticed by the 6th and 7th ranked generals. They stopped bickering and looked at the ground, where the two Shadow Orcs laid, bleeding.
Instead of feeling their strength slowly being sapped away by their injuries, they felt their powers surging.
"What... what’s happening?"
"It’s not just them.... Look."
All around them, shadows seethed. They grew tendrils and began to grow wild and untamed. They had moved with some kind of ferociousness that they had never exhibited before.
The Worcester soldiers started to get overwhelmed. The Shadow Orcs were suddenly making them step back from fear! Those eyes looked completely crazy!
