Chapter 1450: Advancement?!

The young nascent general and the old witch quickly turned around and looked at the direction of that sensation.

It was the sound of something breaking. Like glass. Like concrete shattering. But it didn’t come from the buildings being destroyed in the Nation of Reborn. Instead, it was coming from somewhere deep within themselves. It was echoing. Like a disembodied voice somewhere inside them.

They knew what this was. After all, they’d experienced this same thing back then.... Back when they advanced to the Nascent Spirit realm.

Someone here in the Nation of Reborn was advancing!

Immediately, both of them were alert. The emergence of a new Nascent Spirit cultivator was a very rare and a very dangerous situation, especially for them.

It would break the balance of the fight.

They were barely even holding on against the people of Reborn. And it must be said that none of them were in the Nascent Spirit realm. Not even those strange unknown people were of the Nascent Spirit realm. They may act like one, they may have the power of one, but they weren’t actually on that level.

However, this new person would certainly reach that point.

They could hear the breaking of the GodForge pieces, the melting of the metal, before it would inevitably become condensed into a core.

They followed this sensation, until they saw a certain individual on the ground.

It was a demi-human. A Yellow Mankey.

None could believe it. Both the 2nd and 3rd ranked general of the Worcester company had never even imagined something like this happening in their lifetimes.

They’d heard about demi-humans becoming Maugnetics. But they would have never thought that they would become Nascent Spirit cultivators as well! That was absurd!

No way that would happen, they thought.

But now, they were faced with the evidence that completely contradicted everything they knew about cultivation in general.

The Yellow Mankey was glowing golden, with something in his heart bursting out with luminance.

"Kong?!" Zion shouted in disbelief. "You’re... you’re advancing to the Nascent Spirit realm?"

And the man himself, Kong, couldn’t even fully understand what was happening to himself.

"What... what is this..."

Kong felt lightheaded. But it wasn’t the bad kind. It was as if he was ascending. As if his very soul was starting to lift up to the high heavens and leave his mortal body alone. It was simultaneously a powerful force, and a very scary sensation as well.

He didn’t know that it was just the fact that he was ascending to near demi-godhood.

"KILL HIM!" the Old Witch shouted to the young Nascent general.

Immediately, both of them charged towards the helpless Kong, attempting to disrupt his ascension to the Nascent Spirit realm.

"HE’S NOT A FIGHTER!" the 2nd ranked general shouted. "He should be defenseless!"

Of course, that news was surprising in and of itself. It was hard to believe that a non-combat cultivator would advance to the Nascent Spirit realm, much less him being a demi-human as well!

But there was no time for them to be surprised. First, they had to kill him. Then, they could take all the time they had to study him and see his secrets.

Immediately, the four Unity Clones formed a protective square around Kong, protecting him from the attacks of the two Nascent Spirit generals.

It was at this point that both of them had changed their goals. Instead of destroying the nation of Reborn, and destroying Zion, they now put all of their focus on destroying Kong before he advanced to the next level.

The young 2nd ranked general sent out beams of light out of his eyes. They curved and zigzagged through the air at will.

It tried to curve its way past the Unity Clones, before eventually almost reaching Kong’s chest. Thankfully, Alpha was there to deflect it with her arm bracer Unity armor.

But it was close. This time, the old witch moved. She used her pigeons to bombard Kong once again. And this time, it was added with the meteors coming from the old witch herself, focusing towards Kong.

Against such barrage, even the four Unity Clones had trouble. It was one thing fighting these Nascent Spirit generals. It was another thing to do it while protecting someone very vulnerable.

Kong was at his weakest during this stage as he advanced to the Nascent Spirit realm. His GodForge pieces were disassembled to eventually form into the Nascent Core.

The ground underneath Kong burst into flames and powder as the area got bombarded with Nascent Spirit attacks.

Only a square area around the Unity Clones and Kong were unperturbed.

But then, it was at this moment that Kong suddenly frowned and clutched his chest in pain.

"What’s happening?!" Zion asked, concerned.

Alpha looked at Kong, analyzing his entire body, before giving her assessment. "He’s... being—"

And before she could even say it, the Old Witch had immediately figured out what had happened. "This Nation is his weakness!" she shouted.

Immediately, she redirected one of the pigeons to dive bomb a building near the corner of the main street. It exploded into dust and smithereens.

Once again, Kong clutched his chest and almost fell to his knees.

"He feels the Nation as if it his own body. It will be his greatest strength once he becomes a Nascent Spirit cultivator. But for now, it is his greatest weakness," said the Old Witch.

She sent out more and more pigeons to bombard the Nation of Reborn. One of the Unity Clones, Bravo, tried to go out and destroy these pigeons.

But at that moment, the young Nascent Spirit general immediately threatened to send out a laser that went through the vulnerability in their defenses.

The Unity Clones had a hard choice. Either defend Kong, or defend the Nation.

It was a lose-lose situation.

Another destruction devastated the streets of Reborn.

Zion looked around helplessly. Then, he saw a young kid standing in the street, holding a figurine of the Dragon King with a smile on his face.

At that moment, an explosion burst out from behind the boy.
