Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1412: Change of plans
Michael turned silent once he heard that.
"It is very likely that if you try to get the signatures of the other Mystic Masters, you would get quickly turned away from the door.
After all, this kind of thing, this kind of scheme and conspiracy, it can’t be done by just one Mystic Master. Otherwise, I would have heard about it from the whispers of everyone in the Guild of Arcana.
No, this kind of secrecy would need the cooperation of the other four Mystic Masters. They are complicit. Perhaps, they have been the ones to plan this from the very beginning."
Seberus’ words were like a giant weight that was placed into Michael’s heart. He thought he was finally close to reaching those coveted texts about Unity from the Ancient Era!
But then, he just found out that the rug was pulled out from under his feet.
"Then what should I do?" Michael asked.
If he couldn’t go through it with normal means, Michael was starting to think that he should do it through the shadows.
However, he knew that that kind of plan was idiotic. Unless he had reached the 9th stage of the Nascent Spirit realm, he wasn’t confident enough about his espionage that he’d be able to sneak into the Guild of Arcana without the other Mystic Masters knowing about it.
"At this point... I do not know," Seberus said. "Perhaps, you can persuade the other Mystic Masters to help you."
"But you just said that they have planned this against me."
Seberus nodded. "Yes, but I know you. You and your good-natured ideals are very persuasive. You can make even the most evilest people become influenced by your goodness.
Your aspiration to unite the world through comfort will eventually make its way through the other Mystic Masters. I’m sure of that.
After all, they are not evil people. Just misguided. They were once friends of mine, once in a lifetime ago. They are simply forced into a corner because of the current situation of the world.
The absence of magic has caused them to become paranoid. It has caused them to become more radical. But if you are able to show them the light, show them the truth, then I am sure that they can turn around from their own contorted perspectives."
Michael thought about Seberus’ words, letting it absorb into his mind.
Perhaps, he could do that. Perhaps, he could persuade the other Mystic Masters.
But if he were to do that, he needed to meet them first.
However, he also knew that he couldn’t be so heavy-handed with his persuasion. After all, if a person knew that they were trying to be persuaded, the harder it would be for them to change their mind. They would embolden their views even more, turning more guarded.
Michael couldn’t do that. He just had to operate as he did before.
After all, he had already been planning on convincing the entire world to become united under the ideals of Reborn. That included the Mystic Masters, the Heavenly Knights, the Conglomerates, everyone.
So, he was already on the path to persuade them even before he knew about this.
"Oh, and Braxton told me to give you this."
Seberus handed him a little wooden carving of a cute piglet.
He hadn’t seen Braxton for a long, long while. Not since Metropolis.
And it seemed that he’d been inside the Guild of Arcana this whole time. It wasn’t surprising. After all, Braxton was called to be one of the greatest and most talented students in wizarding history. It made sense for him to spend his time sequestered in that place, studying to become a Mystic Master.
WAIT A MINUTE!
"Braxton!" Michael said to Seberus. "Isn’t Braxton a candidate to become a Mystic Master?"
Seberus nodded. He immediately knew where Michael was going with this. "But unfortunately, he isn’t yet ready to become a Mystic Master."
"But I thought that he was one of the most talented people in the Guild of Arcana?"
"Yes, he was," Seberus said. "I thought that if there was anyone who would become the next Mystic Master, it would be him. But... it seems that they found someone else. Who, I do not know."
Michael didn’t want to accept this. "But what if he is ready? What if he is able to have all the qualifications of a Mystic Master? Wouldn’t he be given the title of Mystic Master regardless of what the others think?"
Seberus thought about it for a second, and nodded. "Yes. Theoretically. But from what I’ve seen, Braxton is still an 8th star wizard. He is not yet at the limit of his stage and will take a long time before he matures and is ready to advance to the 9th star."
"How much time do you think he’d need?" Michael asked.
"At the very least... two years more. And that’s already a generous estimate."
Michael smiled. This could work!
"Can you ask Braxton to come here? Tell him I’ll help him become a 9th star wizard so that he could become a Mystic Master!"
Seberus’ brows knotted into confusion. "What do you mean? How can you do that?"
Then, Michael told him about the black igloo and its magical property to slow down time inside its endless space.
Hearing this, even Seberus couldn’t help but get excited. "You mean to tell me that a day is only seconds in real life? That is astonishing! I would like to study that myself, if you would let me."
Michael, of course, nodded. "Our soldiers are currently training inside there, but I’m sure you can find your own place to study there."
"Hmm... alright. I’ll go and fetch Braxton myself. But it may take a while. I will have to make a believable enough reason to allow him an extended vacation outside of the Guild of Arcana."
This was okay for Michael. He was not in any hurry. After all, he too would be busy in the coming days.
After all, it was time for them to expand to the Elite Society!
