The hazy mist of fog dispersed, finally revealing Michael and Aetrox in the middle of the Rebornian camp.

And in an instant, the Mystic Master took off into the skies, leaving behind a shockwave as he surpassed the speed of sound.

Aetrox flew through the skies, his eagle eyes frowning in bitterness.

He couldn’t believe it. All his life, he’d made it his life’s work to create a messaging system that would work seamlessly despite the distance. It was the very reason why he became a Mystic Master in the first place! It’s why he mastered the skies, the air, the heavens themselves!

It was all because he wanted to make communication easier in the world.

He, of course, was inspired by the messenger pigeons that everyone used. He was interested in them from the very start, from when he was a young boy himself.

Through his obsession with these messenger pigeons, he was able to breeze through the wizarding world and reach the rank of Mystic Master in near record time!

And during his breakthrough, he had sacrificed his own face, his own humanity, in order to become the master of the skies. That’s why he had an eagle for a head now.

He thought it was all worth it. Now, he was able to create a feather that could write even when separated by an entire continent!

All of his hard work would pay off, he thought. He would be recognized as one of the premier inventors of the world, renowned for revolutionizing the very method in which people communicated!

He had spent decades of his life in seclusion, wandering the four corners of the world, finding inspiration from places people had never yet seen before.

And finally, he had done it. He was so happy when he finished his creation!

But it was at that moment when the world suddenly turned dark. It was when magic disappeared from reality itself, leaving people magicless and manaless for their entire lives from here onwards.

And as guilty as it may make him sound, he had thought that it was actually better!

After all, with no magic, people would appreciate his writing feathers even more! Using his Arcane Magic, people would still be able to write and message each other across the entire world!

Finally, he thought his dream would come true!

But then, he had just been awoken from that dream. As it turned out, the Reborn company had already created something that could already allow messaging through vast and great distances.

Not only that, but this ’phone’ of theirs could do so much more. It was basically an item that could do everything that he’d been wanting to do!

It had made him bitter. Of course, as a Mystic Master, he didn’t let his own emotions get the better of him. He allowed Michael to keep his medallion.

However, he was still sad.

Now, no one will know all the hard work that he had done for the world!

He looked at the phone in his hands. It took him all the willpower he had in his body not to throw it down from the skies and watch it tumble into the ground and shatter into a million little pieces.

In truth, he really wanted to. He was in the midst of throwing it down, when sensibility took over his own body.

"Haaa..," Aetrox sighed.

In the end, he realized that the phone was for the better of the world. He would have never even thought that there could be something that could capture the very image of the world so perfectly, even without the use of magic.

He opened the phone’s camera app, pointing it at the distant sun that was about to set in the west.

It was a beautiful sight. One that he had seen millions and millions of times before.

The fading orange light of the sun created a sort of neon luminosity in the horizon, painting it as some kind of fading fire that was about to be snuffed out.

The oceans below were calm. The tips of the waves from the waters were colored with the fire of the fading sun, creating a visually striking image.

And in the end, he took a picture of this scene.

"Where art though my passion

There is no dream without action.

I feel as if hope was not lost.

As long as the sun will never frost."

He inputted those words onto the camera as a sort of therapeutic journal. A diary of his own thoughts.

And inadvertently, because he was still not used to the controls of the phone, he had posted that very picture onto the phone’s social media app.

Accompanying it was that poem itself!

Still bitter and sad about his own hopeless dreams, Aetrox flew off and tucked the phone into his pocket.

He just flew through the air, thinking about nothing and doing nothing.

Meanwhile, in the social media app, the picture began to be seen by numerous people scrolling through the personalized feed.

They looked at the picture and its subsequent poem, and felt themselves moved by its meaning.

They liked the picture and commented things like:

"Wow, what a beautiful sight. And a very relatable poem too!"

"I wonder who this anonymous person is? He’s got a good knack for pictures."

"Followed! Mister Anon! Please post more pictures like this :)"

And soon enough, a few likes turned into a few hundred. And a few hundred turned into a few thousand.

Within half a day, the picture had turned viral. And Aetrox’s own social media account had begun to garner a lot of followers, making him one of the most followed people on the social media app!

Meanwhile, Michael turned his attention back to the Antique in front of him. It was a large bone the size of half a man. It was browning, with signs of aging present on its surface.

Once he returned to his room, he touched the surface of the Antique and immediately found himself being transported into another world.
