Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1383: Medallion
Michael took the medallion and inspected it in his hands. And after observing it using his Supreme Talent, he realized that this was made out of a very unique material, one that was unique only to the very magician who created it in the first place.
Meaning, this was something that only a Mystic Master could create.
"Thank you," he said to Aetrox. "This will help me tremendously."
Aetrox nodded. "Now that I know that the Reborn company is in the side of the Eternitus Consortium, I am more than willing to give you permission to the Guild’s secret library."
That was one of the reasons why they were so strict on whoever was allowed to enter their secret library. If Michael was a secret Ersatz agent and he was allowed entry inside that library, then he’d be able to enact destruction upon the sacred knowledge there, thereby destroying years upon years of history.
And since those knowledge were only stored in that library, then it meant that every single text there would be lost and never be found again.
It would push back innovation in the world by at least a thousand years, probably even more. That’s why it was imperative that only those who were truly trusted by the Mystic Masters were allowed entry inside.
Michael was very thankful that he already had allies within the Mystic Masters. Now, all he needed to do was get their signature medallions and he’d be allowed entry inside their library.
Once there, he’d be able to absorb all kinds of knowledge about the Ancient Era as well as Unity, increasing his mastery and affinity over all the eight natural mana in the world.
And hopefully, that would allow him to break through to the 9-star realm.
He also had a feeling that it would help him secure his Sword Intent that was unique only to him. A Sword Intent that was the culmination and the proper execution of the Quantum techniques that he was only starting to scratch the surface of.
And once he did, then he’ll finally be able to start his counter-attack.
Worcester. This was one of his current opponents, and one that he was raring to try and defeat.
He was the 1st ranked heir of the Oscorpe Conglomerate. A very impressive person, one that has a lot of resources and strength in his hands.
However, he chose to use those resources to fight him. He chose to cheat in the Sanctum Duels in order to procure for himself the Chasm and its territory below.
Of course, Michael was not naive. He knew that Worcester wouldn’t stop in his schemes to try and defeat the Reborn company.
If he was willing to let two Upper Echelon companies sacrifice themselves just to win against them in a Sanctum Duel, then Michael was very sure that they would be willing to do a lot more things to achieve their goal.
Michael wasn’t just going to stand there and wait for them to act.
He was going to fight them. On their grounds.
"I suggest that you lay low, young man," said Aetrox. "Your actions in the Chasm have put a lot of attention towards you and your company. Now, the Ersatz won’t outwardly attack you. But it does increase the chances of them finding out that you have full use of your magic."
Michael looked at Aetrox. "I want them to come," he said.
Hearing this, the Mystic Master couldn’t help but frown. Was Michael really that confident? Or was he simply underestimating his opponents?
"My men have been hard at work trying to find a Stronghold. Unfortunately, ever since they succeeded in their attack in New Sparta, those rats have chosen to go into hiding. My soldiers are starting to get hungry and want to attack another Stronghold."
Aetrox was silent for a second. "What do you mean ’another’?"
Michael told him about their successful destruction of two Strongholds in New Sparta, much to the surprise of the Mystic Master.
"WHAT?! That was because of your company? No wonder...."
"If you want, you can join us," Michael said to Aetrox.
"Very well," replied the Mystic Master. "If you ever find another Stronghold, then you should send me a letter informing me of their location. Though, we should be careful. We cannot let them know that I am involved. Things will only escalate if they find out that a Mystic Master is ransacking their Strongholds."
Then, Aetrox gave Michael a feather, which was completely white with small streaks of black at the bottom.
"What is this?"
"It’s a messenger feather," said the Mystic Master with a proud look on his face. "I have spent the entirety of my life creating this magic. If you use this feather to write something in a paper, then it will instantaneously be transferred to my location without any delay!"
Michael looked at the feather, inspecting it with a ’not bad’ look.
"It’s true," Aetrox said, mistaking Michael’s look for disbelief. "I know that this kind of magic is unbelievable, but I have made it work thanks to my mastery of the skies."
But Michael’s face showed no sign of being surprised or being impressed.
"What?"
"No, it’s just that... it’s nice," Michael said. "But... a little bit inconvenient. It takes a lot of time to write on parchment paper."
Aetrox scoffed. "Then what’s faster?"
Michael gave Aetrox a smart phone. One of the very latest versions of their phone, with an improved screen and more ’clicky’ keyboard. Then, he began to explain to him about all of its features, including the messaging, the video calls, the camera, everything.
Basically, it was a much, much better version of the ’feather’ that Aetrox was so proud of.
The Mystic Master’s beak was completely wide open as he began to fiddle through the phone’s features.
He inputted a few letters on the keyboard and pressed send. And in an instant, Michael’s phone received the message.
"You know what, let me take back the medallion..."
