Chapter 1208: Zion’s change

Chapter 1208: Zion’s change

Michael landed onto the soil, creating a dust cloud around him.

"Hohoho, it seems that I may have been too harsh in my training," said Grieve.

Zion was on his knees, clutching his heart while the rest of the Rebornian trainees looked around him with worry.

"Lord Michael," said Grieve.

Michael turned to the skeleton general. All this time, Grieve had been in the Nation of Reborn, keeping their growing armies trained and managed. He was the one who ensured that there were guards and protectors all throughout the lands occupied by Reborn.

And currently, Grieve has been managing the training of a few newcomers. Including Zion.

The youngest Dragonborn, despite having the best talent out of all of his siblings, had yet to fully awaken his Aubility Powers. He had been stuck for a long time, never being able to advance further in his cultivation, while his siblings went far ahead of him.

Because of this Zion, had been hard at training. Grieve ensured that the young lad had the best training possible so that he could advance through his cultivation.

"Give him some space," he said to everyone. The trainees all backed away at his words.

"I have never seen this before," said Grieve. "Then again, I don’t remember much of anything. So take that with a grain of salt."

Michael turned to the skeleton general. "He’s evolving."

"And I take it there’s something wrong?"

"It’s not supposed to be."

Michael hadn’t included Zion in the meeting simply because he didn’t think that the young Dragonborn had to be included.

He thought that the evolution would only include the other three, because they were the ones who had been advancing their cultivations. And even if Zion did have an evolution despite his lack of cultivation, Michael thought nothing bad would happen.

Clearly, he was wrong. Zion should have been engulfed in a golden light by now, and eventually cocooned himself into an egg.

Is something wrong with his evolution because of his lack of cultivation?

[Negative,] said ChatJK6. [Zion has a SSS-class talent. If anything, evolution should be even more natural to him.]

However, what they were currently seeing now was the exact opposite of that. The red-scaled Dragonborn writhed in pain, wincing and groaning as something inside him was changing.

Michael wanted to help him.

[I do not endorse this action. Interfering with evolution will only make it worse.]

I’m not going to interfere. I’m just going to make it so that he wouldn’t have trouble with the change.

After all, that was his power. He was the Harbinger of the Future. He could expedite this change and make it so that Zion didn’t have to go through this.

He looked down deep inside the core in his chest, using the Nascent Spirit power that laid inside. Then, he began to unfurl the blanket, covering the red-scaled Dragonborn.

Zion’s expression lightened, no longer feeling the excruciating pain that persisted throughout his entire body.

It was at this point that the golden light continued to grow in the young Dragonborn’s chest, eventually growing bright enough to make everyone close their eyes.

Even Grieve had to cover his eyes, even though he had none.

Eventually, the light subsided and Michael could finally open his eyes.

There, sprawled on the cold hard ground, was a juvenile dragon. Its red scales glistened under the bright rays of the sun. His wings were tucked under his shoulders, as if he was sleeping peacefully under his own tower.

Michael couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

"YAWN!"

Zion’s voice groaned out of the Dragon as it began to awake from its sleep. His long, scaled neck peered up from his curled body, looking around at everybody with a confused look on his face.

"Hmm? What am I doing here? Did I accidentally sleep?"

Everyone gawked at Zion, having to strain their heads to look up at him.

"Bro Mike! You’re here!" Zion excitedly said, unfruling his wings and beginning to engulf Michael in a big hug.

It was then that the young Dragon noticed the changes in his body. He saw the large membranous wings that curved towards Michael. The four limbs that kept him standing upright. As well as the hard, shiny, scales that covered his entire body.

"HAAAAA!" Zion screamed, tumbling backwards. "What are these?! What am I?!"

"Hohoho, my dear student. It looks like you’ve become a dragon!"

...

...

...

After Michael explained the evolution to Zion, the young Dragonborn had quickly changed his expression from fear and confusion, over to happiness and excitement.

"HELL YEAH! I’M A DRAGON! I’M A DRAGON! LOOK AT ME, TEACH! I CAN FLY!"

Zion desperately wanted to show off to his teacher, Grieve. Though, at this point, the young dragon could only flap his wings and was unable to take off into the skies.

"HAHAHAHA! I FEEL POWERFUL!"

With a stomp, Zion sent tremors throughout the training grounds, making a few of the trainees fall to the ground.

Indeed, Zion had become stronger. To be exact, the scales on his body had become as powerful as that of the Draconians. Meaning, it was as strong as a Nascent Spirit armor.

Of course, that didn’t mean Zion had the same power as Nascent Spirit cultivators. It just meant that he wouldn’t be as defenseless against them.

"Where are they, bro Mike? I bet my scales are shinier than theirs!"

Michael quietly explained to him that his siblings were still at their incubation stage. Even now, there weren’t any signs of them breaking out of their shell.

"Woah! Really?! I’m at first for once?! GREAT! I can’t wait until I show them that they’re way behind now!"

As Zion continued happily wagging his tail around, almost killing a few trainees, Michael began to wonder what was so different with Zion that his evolution result was so different from his siblings.

They all turned into an egg first, while Zion turned straight into a dragon.

Did that mean that once they hatched, they’d become a dragon too?

And just as he began to wonder about this, he suddenly heard Zion call out to him.

"Ummm bro Mike? How am I supposed to turn back to my normal form?"
