Chapter 1136 Over in a flash
Chapter 1136 Over in a flash
People weren’t expecting a demi-human to be included in the Exhibition Tournament. The knowledge of demi-humas becoming a Maugnetic was still very much an impossibility for most people.
Even the other Knights who came from the Order itself were surprised. “Master, a demi-human? This is the exhibition match that will basically determine who becomes the next Heavenly Swordmaster!”
The obese woman, who was also the Heavenly Knight for the Path of the Rapier, clicked her tongue at her student.
“Are you saying that demi-humans are lesser than humans?”
“Ah—no, no, master.”
“That’s what you’re implying,” she said. “And you seem to forget one simple fact. We already have a demi-human as a Heavenly Knight. Isn’t that right, Kruger?”
The Master and student turned to the side and saw a large, burly Orc standing still on the opposite side of the area.
“Master Kruger,” the bash student saluted.
“Patty. It’s been a while since I’ve seen you.”
Patty, the obese Heavenly Knight nodded. “I know. I’ve been busy. Would you be so kind as to lecture my young Caspian over here that demi-humans aren’t as weak as he thinks they are?”
The young Caspian turned to look at Kruger. The sharp, intimidating axe behind the Heavenly Knight Orc made Caspian completely regret his words from earlier.
“In truth, I cannot blame your young student. Demi-humans are simply that much weaker than humans. We do not have the talent to become Maugnetics as most humans.
I was only able to achieve my strength because I was able to reach the pinnacle of my magic.”
Kruger was a Heavenly Knight who relied entirely on his magic and his axe. Now, this would seem like a complete disadvantage against Maugnetics since Aubility Power could completely overwrite anything in reality.
However, that was a lesson that many people paid for by their death. One must not underestimate an Orc like Kruger, especially if they reached the Heavenly Knight status despite this obvious flaw. But even so, Kruger knew that his case was special. Even from birth, he knew that he was talented in magic and the axe.
And throughout his life, he had to work extremely hard to hone his skills to the point where he could go toe-to-toe against Nascent Spirit cultivators without problem.
Even with this personal experience, he knew that it was extremely unlikely for other demi-humans to achieve the things he achieved. At least, not without the luck he had being birthed with extraordinary talent.
“The demi-humans of this generation will be lucky. They don’t have to experience the hardship I had in order to achieve greatness,” Kruger said with a smile.
This was weird for Patty and Caspian. “Why do you say so?”
Kruger smiled at them. “Don’t you know?”
“Know what?”
After seeing the clueless looks on both of them, Kruger suddenly had an idea. He showed them a disarming smile.
“Why don’t we have a little bet? Who will win, this demi-human or his opponent?”
Caspian didn’t speak out the words immediately, but his answer was of course the human swordsman.
“I’ll give you an advantage. If the demi-human gets damaged by even a slight bit, you’ll win.”
After hearing this, Caspian’s eyes widened. Such an easy bet to make! He immediately held out his hand.
“Deal! If I win, you’ll fulfill one of my favors!” Caspain said. It wasn’t everyday that a Heavenly Knight would owe him a favor!
“I wouldn’t make that bet if I were you,” warned his master.
Patty turned to look at the Reborn VIP area. And among the group there, her eyes focused on a single person.
A young woman with black hair and elegance like that of a princess.
That was none other than Yuna Montgomery. The one who got away. She was the perfect student, one that could have eventually inherited the title of Heavenly Knight from her.
However, the politics of Montgomery made Yuna reject the opportunity. If she had accepted, then Caspian wouldn’t be so arrogant now with a rival like her around.
And if Yuna was cheering for the demi-human, then Patty already knew the outcome before it even happened.

…
…
Jaku yawned as he faced his opponent.
“My name is—”
And before the swordsman finished his words, Jaku raised his hand and looked towards the official.
“Can we go now?” he asked.
His opponent was fuming after hearing that. “YOU!”
The official then raised his hand, whistling with his fingers to signal the start of the match.
Immediately, the human swordsman raised his weapon, a powerful humanoid Diva of heavenly characteristics appeared.
The crowds cheered. But almost in the same instant, blue lightning flashed.
And a second later, the Diva dissipated into a mist. Then, the human swordsman fell face first into the arena, blood spilling into a puddle.
Silence. What happened?
Nobody even saw what happened. Did the swordsman burst an artery or something?
Nobody even noticed that Jaku had already left the arena, walking back towards the Rebornian area still fighting off his sleep.
Even the official didn’t know what to say. Was the fight over? It seemed so. But… how?
He had no choice but to raise his flag and declare Jaku the winner. For the general public this victory didn’t feel earned at all. This could be considered a ‘free’ win!
But of course, anyone with even a slight modicum of fighting prowess were up on their feets, completely bewildered by what they saw.
Caspian held his breath, jaw dropped. “What…. That’s… that’s a DIVA! That demi-human is a Maugnetic!”
And he wasn’t even a normal Maugnetic. In that brief instant, Jaku exploded with power equal to that of the 7th stage of Body Formation realm!
It was at this point that Kruger laughed heartily, tears flowing out of his eyes. “HAHAHAHA! You should have seen the look on your face! That was fun!”
Kruger suddenly got a taste for this feeling. He might want to search for more victims in the future.
…
Meanwhile, on the other side of the arena, Arthur gripped his sword as his gaze landed on the demi-human.
He found him!
