Chapter 1113 Knight in shining armor
Chapter 1113 Knight in shining armor
With how much attention the kiosks were having, it was only inevitable that some people tried to interfere with it. It was just the nature of being human.
“Well, well. What do we have here? Some fancy, schmancy construct huh?”
“Hahaha look at all these sheep. They’re treating this thing as some kind of technological innovation! It’s just parlor tricks!”
“Yeah, of course there’s magic in that. My uncle who is well connected with a Mystic Master can totally prove that this thing is purely a work of magic.”
The crowd slowly parted ways as the hooligans jostled their way through. Some people looked at them with fear, some with indifference, while some with embarrassment.
It was clear that these people were infamous among these parts. And it seemed that today, they found their target for their daily dose of bullying.
The main hooligan with straight, spiky hair roughly knocked his knuckles against the screen. This wasn’t an accident. He clearly planned to get rough with it.
The kiosk briefly shuddered by punch. “Is this glass? Haha, if it’s really as great as you people are saying, then you wouldn’t mind if I try it out myself, right?”
Immediately, some concerned citizen spoke up against this injustice. “I know what you’re planning. You want to destroy the machine! Miss attendant, don’t let these hooligans anywhere near the kiosk!”
The other people in the crowd nodded and expressed their approval of this comment. However, one single glance from the hooligan’s lackeys quickly made them mute.
These people weren’t just brutes. They were one of those Maugnetic people! Even as young as they were, they had already achieved the 2nd stage of Body Formation!
“What am I doing wrong?” asked the hooligan with a cruel smile. “I just want to try out this new thing myself. Is that a crime?”
He turned to the Lamia overseeing the whole kiosk. Many expressed their concern to the Rebornian attendant. But she simply gave the hooligan a courteous smile.
“Of course, dear customer. You can freely order a hearty meal of McTony’s chicken if you wish to do so.”
Her words came straight out of a worker’s handbook that they studied to get this job.
“See? Now, as a humble fighter myself, please forgive me if I am a little rough with your little construct. It’s just made out of glass, after all.”
The Lamia maintained her PR friendly smile. “Please be warned that any destruction of our property will be grounds for financial or mental punishments.”
The hooligan and his friends simply scoffed at the Rebornian’s warnings, not even knowing the true meaning of what she said. None of the people here did.
“Shut up, demi-human.”
“If you want us to pay for damages, then you can just put it on our tab. It’s named ‘bleh bleh!'”
With a reared arm, the hooligan smiled. The figure of a black and white dolphin appeared above his head.
“Hehe, let me order a good ‘ol order of knuckle sandwich!”
But just as his Aubility-powered punch was about to hit the kiosk’s glass, someone shouted.
“Stop right there.”
A figure blurred before reappearing right next to the hooligan, his punching hands firmly caught.
“Huh?”
Everyone gasped at this new turn of events. It was a human who wore a full plate of armor from their head to toe. Only a small vertical slit on his helmet gave him any sense of identity.
He had a grand and stately aura, one that was only reserved for heroes and the like.
“That… that’s the mark of the Order!”
Everyone turned to look at the emblem marked on the armored man’s chest. It bore the symbol of the Order of the Heavenly Knight, which meant that he was one of their members!
And not just any one of their members… it was someone with a high authority within the organization!
“Look at his armor! He must be one of those genius students!”
As it turned out, the man was quite young! Judging from the symbol on his chest, he seemed to be part of a very select group of students who studied under the Order in order to be a personal student of a Heavenly Knight!
Only the most talented youths were selected for this kind of program.
And judging from the way he easily handled the hooligan’s punch, it seemed that the rumors were true!
“Huh? Who are you?!” the hooligan asked as he struggled to get his arm out of the knight’s grip. But no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t even make it budge.
“It does not matter who I am. I am on the side of justice. And when justice calls, I answer.”
And with a single twist of the arm, the knight made the hooligan kneel, making the lackeys panic.
“Hey! Watch it boy!”
“Let go of him!”
“Be prepared to be in a world of hurt—”
And before they could even finish their ‘threats’, they suddenly froze in place. Half a second later, blood spurted out of their bodies as multiple cuts suddenly appeared all over their skin.
They immediately fell down onto the ground, unconscious. Even the main hooligan himself was knocked out from the pain of his arm being twisted.
“Wow… as expected of a Knight!”
“That was a magnificent show of power!”
“CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!”
The Knight earned applause from the crowd, which he seemed to have relished since he bowed at everyone with an excessive amount of flourish.
Then, the sounds of metal clanking rang out as multiple other Knights appeared to apprehend the unconscious troublemakers.
“Miss demi-human, you have no need to fear. The Order has brought justice upon your feet. Now, we must take these hooligans to pay for their sins,” the Knight said, bowing to the Lamia.
The Knight seemed to have expected a lavish amount of praise from the Rebornian attendant. But instead, all he received was this:
“My apologies, but we cannot have you taking him as a prisoner. He has damaged our property, which means that we are responsible for him.”
She pointed to a small crack on the kiosk’s screen.
The Knight didn’t do his job properly!
