Chapter 1107 End of third day
Chapter 1107 End of third day
Meanwhile, back in McTony’s restaurant…
Michael found himself pleasantly surprised as he saw multiple orders go through the phone delivery app. He only showed the McTony’s restaurant to Rivet, but somehow, it had escalated to thousands upon thousands of orders coming from the other phones in circulation in New Sparta.
The Elves, the Werewolves, and the royalty from Metropolis all bought at least one order of McTony’s chicken from him.
He expected the Royalty from Metropolis to do so. The Duchess was always excited whenever they announced something new. However, he was surprised that the Beastfolks also figured out how to deliver food all on their own.
And after some investigation, he figured out the truth.
“RAH TA TA! I have something to report regarding the Mystic Master’s lecture,” said Sasuki.
Michael listened carefully as the Orc Chieftains gave him the play by play of what happened in the arena.
And when they mentioned the mechanical golem, Michael couldn’t help but be surprised.
She was able to create something like that?
She didn’t even learn that from him. She just figured that out all on her own in a matter of a few days!
No wonder she was a famed Mystic Master of Metal.
She was able to take the engine, a purely mechanical machine, and tie them into a magical construct, combining both aspects of reality into one.
It was really impressive. Michael hadn’t even thought of that. Even ChatJK6 hadn’t figured out a way to do that!
[Ahem. If you had expressed any intention of doing so, I could have easily done that as well,] ChatJK6 said, defending her honor.
And in her defense, it was true. With her current software update, he struggled to think about what she couldn’t do.
He simply didn’t even think about using the engine to create constructs like the golem. After all, he personally had no use for them. He could simply use his clones or his magic to accomplish anything that a golem could do with much more ease.
But he completely neglected to think about its use in the public market.
If he began to power magical constructs using the engine, then there were a lot of possibilities that weren’t even possible back on Earth!
I’ll have to ask Rivet how she did that later.
[There’s no need, Michael. I can simply use the Orc’s memories to reconstruct the golem perfectly.]
In a matter of a few seconds, a wave of information surged in his mind. He saw a 3d reconstruction of the golem floating in the void of his mind, which was slightly transparent, allowing him to see through its inside.
With a simple thought, the golem was deconstructed into its individual parts.
I see. Basically, she’s using her mastery in magic and metal to replace what circuits are supposed to be.
Back on Earth, for a robot to move and act like a human, one would have to program its actions into a circuit board that controlled all of its movements.
Of course, the immense stride in technology allowed humans to basically do whatever they wanted with electronics.
This world was stunted. They didn’t even have any sense of technological progress. But what they did have was access to magic.
Rivet simply used her mastery over magic to create her own circuit using nothing but magic, inscribed into the very metal that the golem was made out of.
Of course, as a wizard himself, Michael knew just how hard that was to accomplish. Basically, only a Mystic Master of her caliber could create something like a golem in such a short amount of time.
This is interesting. If I ever have a need for robots, I’ll have to copy her technique.
Right now, there were simply far too many things for him to do. He had lots of projects that he needed to complete. Not only that, but he basically had no absence of workers. Why use robots when he could use Rebornians? Although more costly, having a human touch was definitely giving their products more quality. And, there was also an added bonus of his Rebornians possibly becoming a Maugnetic. So right now, he wanted to put as many Rebornians into their jobs to increase that chance.
“Young Master, we have finished closing the restaurant,” said Castelle.
Before Michael knew it, the third day of the Feast came to a close. Time passed like lightning when they were busy.
All the Rebornians waited excitedly for Castelle’s next words.
They worked really hard today. Their restaurant was the busiest it had been, with seemingly no breaks at all. They couldn’t. Their customers waited for hours and hours to line up at the queue.
“For the third day of the Feast, we have gathered a total of 395,721 tokens!”
After that announcement, the entire restaurant went up in an uproar. Yesterday, their total was about 30,000 tokens. And today, that jumped up by a factor of ten!
Castelle immediately nodded at Jimmy, who went ahead and unfolded the paper in his hands.
“The McTony’s restaurant is now ranked… top 39th in the Feast!”
This was once again a massive leap! From the 50th to 45th. And now, from 45th to 39th!
Michael looked at all the Rebornians responsible for this accomplishment. “You’ve all done a great job,” he said to them.
The musicians, the artists, the orators… every single one of them had completely outdone themselves. They competed against other Maugnetics from the Upper Echelons and still won against them despite the obvious difference in cultivation.
This was a massive win for them.
And in fact, it seemed that he wasn’t the only one to notice that.
He once again felt the familiar knock from his Shadow Inventory.
With a single thought, he summoned the GodForge pieces. These flaming white drops circled the Rebornians before descending into their hearts, increasing their cultivation by one stage.
Michael didn’t even think that that was enough for how hard they worked these past two days.
Thankfully, these Rebornians also received merits and Sand Dollars from the internal mission system, so they were truly properly compensated.
