Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1038 Well protected

Chapter 1038  Well protected

Each and every single Conglomerate who received their car delivery underwent the same investigation and surprise as Gabriel and his father.

They soon found out how magnificent of a construct this automobile truly was.

They inspected every inch of the automobile, and with every inch, their whole model view of the world was being changed.

Particularly, they were shocked to learn about one particular aspect of the automobile: its outer layer.

“No… that’s not possible,” Gabriel’s father muttered out loud. “How could that be?!”

The old inventor right next to him shook his head. “I’ve verified it. That is Damascus Steel.”

It was hard to see at first because of the coat of paint that covered it, but the inventor was sure that the entirety of the automobile was covered with Damascus Steel. The very metal that was said to be the most durable material in the world, just below that of a Mithril Artifact.

Even among the Conglomerates, they couldn’t be so lavish in their use of Damascus Steel. Sure, they weren’t lacking in it in any sense, but they would surely never use it on something they sold to others.

The fact that the Reborn company did this meant one of two things: they didn’t know the value of Damascus Steel, or they knew exactly how valuable it was—they just didn’t care.

This completely made Gabriel’s father take a step back.

With each day, with each information that he was finding out about the Reborn company, the more he was learning how much he’d been underestimating them.

Gabriel smiled as he looked at his father. “Still think that you have to protect them?”

Finally, after some getting used to, the Conglomerates began sending their automobiles off to their deliveries.

Of course, with how much fanfare and discussions there were about the automobiles, it couldn’t be helped that the other factions and organizations in New Sparta were alerted of this fact.

Some of the Upper Echelons, those who didn’t want to see the Conglomerates widening the gap between them, discussed heavily about what they were going to do next.

Some of the Upper Echelons, those who didn’t want to see the Conglomerates widening the gap between them, discussed heavily about what they were going to do next.

“Is this alright? Our scouts are saying that their delivery time would get slashed down by more than half because of this. Should we have bought our own automobiles?” “No,” said their leader. “The automobile is good, but it is merely a fad. An item that will slowly lose their interest in the coming few weeks.”

“…are you sure?”

The leader of an Upper Echelon company nodded. “I’m positive. The strength of an automobile is its non-use of magic and Aubility Power. But it is also its weakness.

With no magic, how do you think it would fare against an ambush? How would they be able to protect themselves against a group of Maugnetics? Even 1st stage Maugnetics could easily dismantle that automobile into pieces.”

That was the reason why most of the Upper Echelons chose not to seriously negotiate with the Reborn company.

They simply thought that it was not worth it. Plain and simple.

When the first automobiles were released, they did their due diligence. They made sure to inspect the automobiles and saw that they were made out of normal materials. There was nothing spectacular about them.

In their eyes, it won’t be long until this glaring fact would get revealed.

Especially since the Conglomerates had so many enemies.

And as it turned out a day later, he was right in one aspect.

The Conglomerates did get attacked during their shipment. Their automobiles were ambushed on their way back by a group of masked Maugnetics with seemingly no affiliation behind them.

Though, their manner of speaking and combat were extremely similar to that of the Upper Echelons. But that could have been a coincidence. Who knows for sure?

Anyway, the Conglomerates were attacked. But instead of the obviously strong guards protecting the delivery, the masked Maugnetics attacked the automobiles instead.

Before the Conglomerates could even react, the ambushers threw all of their powers and magic onto the automobile, expecting it to crumble into scrap within a few moments.

But surprisingly, the automobile held on. The magic and Aubility Powers bounced off and dented the automobile’s outer layer, but nothing more.

The masked men were visibly surprised by this, causing them to make the fatal mistake of freezing at an unopportune moment.

At that point, the Conglomerate guards appeared and retaliated. The outcome was as expected. The masked men lost, but not before someone was able to sneak away from their grasp.

And as this lucky masked ambusher was leaving, he glanced back at the automobile.

In their attack that dented the side of its container, the coat of paint was brushed out, letting them see the natural wavy pattern of the metal.

His eyes widened. That was Damascus Steel! No wonder their attacks didn’t work.

The masked Maugnetic then quickened his steps and retreated back to New Sparta to report back to their leaders.

“Damascus Steel?! Surely you’re mistaken,” asked an Upper Echelon leader.

The now unmasked Maugnetic shook his head. “No, sir. It is Damascus Steel. We got unlucky and struck the most protected part of the automobile.”

The leader leaned back onto his chair, in deep thought.

He shook his head. “No… the automobile is made entirely out of Damascus Steel.”

“Sir? That’s not possible.”

“I know. But how else would you have survived? The Conglomerates don’t take kindly to an attack. If they wanted to kill you, they would have. But they didn’t. They let you go.

This means that they wanted us to know about the automobile’s insane durability. They wanted us to know it’s made out of Damascus Steel.”

No wonder the Conglomerates deployed their automobiles so fast. If they wanted to be safe from ambushes, they would have delayed their deployment to cover their tracks. But they didn’t. They made sure that they could be ambushed.

All the Conglomerates did this, meaning that all 500 of those automobiles were made out of Damascus Steel.

That was a staggering amount. Certainly not something that a Lower Echelon company should have!
