Chapter 1023 Show off
Michael opened the door only to see a bunch of people snacking on Ice Cream. This was definitely not what he was expecting to see so early in the morning.
“Keo!” Neytiri shouted from the back of the room. “You made this?! This is awesome!”
“Right on! This is the best desert I’ve ever eaten in my life!” Gabriel exclaimed. This was a big deal for most people since they knew that he was a Vanderbilt, a family with the means to buy the most expensive and elite deserts in the world. If he said that this was the best thing he’d ever eaten, then it was at least something worth trying.
Because of that, many other people asked for a simple sample, which Yuna very graciously gave them.
“I hope you don’t mind that I gave them some,” Yuna said, as she ate Vanilla Ice Cream.
“No, no, it’s fine.”
In fact, this was a very good development with regards to the Reborn Company.
And somehow, Castelle was able to foresee this from the very start! That was incredible and mystifying at the same time. He thought he already knew a lot about Maugnetics and Aubility Power, but as it turned out, it was just the tip of the iceberg.
He had no idea how Castelle’s powers worked. For normal Maugnetics, their powers worked through the GodForge pieces inside their hearts. It unspooled threads of Aubility Power out of their body and into their surroundings, allowing them to rewrite reality into whatever they so desired.
But for Castelle, her power involved the entirety of the Reborn Company. How did her reality-altering powers worked? Did her Aubility Power threads spontaneously appear wherever the Nation of Reborn was involved?
He had no idea. But it sure was very useful.
Right now, everyone in the room was indulging themselves in Ice Cream.
It must be taken into account that the people inside this Viewing Deck were no mere citizens. They were the leaders and inheritors of the top biggest companies and organizations here in New Sparta. Heck, there were even Conglomerates here!
Suffice it to say, they were the influencers of New Sparta. And right now, they were the one getting influenced.
Gabriel then walked over to Michael.
“Brother… I would pay top coin for this delicacy. It is simply delectable,” Gabriel said. “Even if it doesn’t have any special properties, the flavor itself is enough to make anyone want to have a taste.”
Neytiri agreed with his assessment. “Are you selling its recipe, perhaps? If not, then I’m also willing to buy it wholesale. Having something refreshing to eat after a good smithing session will always pick up my mood.”
After that, the other people in the Viewing Deck also offered to buy Ice Cream from the Reborn company, which he politely declined.
“I can—”
Michael’s words were interrupted by a sudden raucous cheering from the spectators in the arena.
Everyone’s first instinct was that something exciting happened during the Sanctum Duel.
But when they turned their attention towards the arena, they realized that there wasn’t even a duel happening in the Colosseum!
“What is happening?”
The spectators were up on their feet, waving their hands and shouting to the top of their lungs, seemingly trying to get someone’s attention.
Finally, they saw movement.
Down below in the arena, a group of people began walking up the stage, raising their hands and waving at the spectators around them.
Gabriel immediately stood up, shocked to see the unexpected guest they had for today.
“Neytiri… that’s… that’s one of your uncles, right?”
The conglomerates turned towards Neytiri, who had a perplexed look on her face.
“Yes. But, he’s not supposed to be here.”
Her uncle was part of the main Hephaestus line. In short, he was way too important to be sent here in the Lower Queens region. He was better off in the Upper Echelons, rather in this region of the Royal Continent.
Neytiri heard nothing about his appearance here in New Sparta.
But it seemed that she wasn’t the only one getting surprised today.
After her uncle went up the stage, the next group then walked over and greeted the crowd.
This time, it was Gabriel!
He saw the Vanderbilt banner getting raised and showed around in the arena. And down near the edge, he saw a familiar face. His father.
This was confusing because Gabriel’s father was the one who assigned him in New Sparta in the first place. Why would he do that if he would eventually come here himself?
Then after that, the Oscorpe company showed themselves as well, surprising Cedric.
Every single one of the conglomerates were now present in this sudden appearance in New Sparta.
“Why are they here?” Gabriel asked, his eyebrows frowning. The Conglomerates were now sending more of their troops here in New Sparta. This was like sending an adult to a playground. The locals of New Sparta would quickly get outmatched because of their added appearance.
But in the next few minutes, the situation got a little bit clearer.
More organizations appeared and gave their greetings to the crowd.
Michael didn’t recognize any of their company names, but Yuna and the other Conglomerates certainly did.
“It looks like most of the Upper Echelon has decided to make an appearance,” Cedric muttered to himself.
The fact that they were now sending more forces down in New Sparta meant that they were very much interested in what was happening in this little territory. They want a piece of the pie.
And it seemed that the conglomerates weren’t doing that good of a job, so the conglomerates decided to send reinforcements.
Of course, this sent a shockwave throughout the entirety of New Sparta. The human companies and organizations were, of course, disgruntled with this unexpected visit. With their appearance, competition would get a lot fiercer in general. Not in a physical sense, but in a monetary sense.
The Conglomerates were about to show off the very reason why they were called Conglomerates in the first place!
