Chapter 731: Trouble In Denon City
Chapter 731: Trouble In Denon City
Up on the top of the mountain, the sect master looked out over the sect at his disciples, that were all chasing after Kana, and smiled. “This will be a good lesson for them. There are many mysteries and oddities in this world, and Kana is one of them. She is someone who is bound for greatness, and her name will one day strike fear in the heart of those around her. At least I can proudly say she was nurtured in my Moon Crest Academy.”
Kana, who was leisurely traveling to the nearest town, had no idea she was causing such a scene. Nor did she know that she was being followed by quite a number of people. That was because no one dared to get too close with Elder Ning trailing behind her. He was making it perfectly known to those disciples that they were there to watch and nothing else.
Kana made good progress through the day, reaching the town with the transportation array to the next city. The reason why the transportation array was located in the closest town was for sect security. No one could enter the sect without proper permission, so having such an array inside the sect was only inviting enemies to knock on their doorstep.
This was why the array was positioned a day’s walk away. Kana walked into the building where the array was constructed and looked around curiously. There was not much to the building, only a small stand where you could go up and request to use the transportation array. This particular transportation array is only linked to Denon City.
Denon City was also a city not very taken to any kind of demi race or divine beast as it was a city that was walled off by tall walls to protect against the beast tide that happens every year. While those of demi races and divine beasts in human form do come here, they are not allowed outside the transportation array room. If they do have to leave, they must leave under guard in order to keep not only citizens safe but the divine beasts or demi races.
Kana walked up to the small stand and took out a spirit stone, and handed it over to the old man with a long white beard who was half asleep behind the stall’s counter. “Hmmm? Going out, little lady? One minute.”
The old man took the spirit stone and got up from his seat. He looked still half asleep as he walked over to the array and began preparing it to be used. At the same time, all those who were following Kana stood outside the transportation array area, waiting for Kana to leave before making themselves known. Only Elder Ning walked in with his hands behind his back. “Kana, do you mind if I join you in the transport?”
Kana turned and saw Elder Ning and smiled. “If you want. Are you on your way out as well?”
“Yeah, In fact, I will be heading near a place close to the forest you are heading to. So we can travel together until we reach Maryd city.” Elder Ning replied.
“Okay!” Kana nodded. She would always welcome Elder Ning to accompany her as she did not like traveling alone all the time.
“So you are both taking the array?” The old man asked, turning to look at Elder Ning.
“Mmmm. Here.” Elder Ning handed over high grade spirit stone as payment and walked to the center of the array making sure to stay a few meters away from Kana.
Kana smiled at him and prepared herself to be transported. The old man finished placing some crystals and spirit stones down before looking up at Kana. “Get ready, I am activating it now.”
Kana watched as the old man placed the final stone. The array lit up, and blue swirls of spiritual qi began to rise up and swirl around in a circle. More and more spiritual qi began to gather together until a tall wall formed of spiritual qi encircled both Kana and Elder Ning. Seconds later, the spiritual qi dispersed, and both Kana and Elder Ning had disappeared.
Not long after, Ming Xiafan and the rest all walked into the room, causing the old man to stroke his beard. He had known these brats were all outside the room and was wondering why they were not coming in, but it seemed they were following the other two in secret. He could only look at them and shake his head. “Each one of you needs to pay up.”
In Denon city, inside the transportation room, Kana and Elder Ning appeared on one of the many platforms available there. “What the hell is this? A damn monster dares to come to my Denon city!?”
A loud voice filled with anger yelled out, causing Kana to look over at a young man surrounded by guards. Elder Ning frowned when he heard this and stepped forward. “If I recall correctly, it is against Denon city rules to discriminate against anyone inside the transportation room. So I do hope you can keep your mouth shut.”
“Hah! Do you think this is still the same Denon city? I rule this city now that my Father has been bedridden. You dare tell me what to say and do in my city!?” The young man yelled out with a mocking smile on his lips.
Elder Ning frowned. He had not heard of any of this. He could only think that it was something that had just happened recently. “Even if your father is bedridden, your clan’s old patriarch is the one who laid down the rules, is he not? From what I know, he is still alive.”
“What of it? If I say I want to kill that monster over there, who will dare stop me?” The young man yelled out, even more, angered than before from being talked down to.
“Hmmm? You want to kill me?” Kana spoke. Her voice was not loud but carried into everyone’s ears and caused those who heard it to tremble. She didn’t mind when people talked bad about her, she could ignore it, but when people threatened to kill her, it was different, very different.
