Chapter 727: Elements
Chapter 727: Elements
While Kana was trying to figure out why her cultivation surged, things at the Wen Clan were not looking very good. “What do you mean half the disciples have vanished!?”
“Master Wen, I am not sure what is going on. They just suddenly disappeared overnight. Not even the guards saw anyone leave. It’s like they vanished without a trace! It’s just that….” A young man in blue robes was kneeling on the ground, said to the middle aged man who sat in a chair at the front of the hall.
“Just what!?” Master Wen was starting to lose his temper. He had never had such a problem since he had taken over this clan so many years ago.
“It’s just that late last night, Young Master Zan returned….” The young man replied nervously. He felt like there was some kind of connection between the Young Master’s return and the disappearance of the disciples but he was afraid that Master Wen would cut his head off since it involved his son.
“Zan’er? Call him here for me. I will speak to him.” Master Wen did not want to think his son was involved but losing so many disciples was not good either. He had to get to the bottom of things, or if word got out, the Wen clan’s reputation would fall.
Sometime later, Wen Zan walked into the hall, his complexion looking very pale. His eyes were pure black, and a strange energy seemed to be emitting from his body. “Father, you called for me?”
Despite all these strange signs that something was wrong with his son, Master Wen ignored them as he asked: “Zan’er do you know anything about the missing disciples?”
“Missing disciples? Oh…. You mean the disciples of a clan that killed off the heiress to the Shin family and used its own name to replace the original Shin clan?” Wen San asked as he looked up at his father, Wen Zang, the master of the Wen family.
“You! Zan’er how!? You are betraying your own clan!?” Wen Zang yelled out as he slammed his fist on the armrest of his chair. His face turning bright red from anger.
“Betraying? No…. This is revenge for killing the mother of a child who did nothing wrong and robbing her of her right to be loved.” The voice that came out of Wen Zan’s mouth did not seem to be his own. But as his words fell, Wen Zan’s entire body became consumed in a black fog that began to spread out from him, instantly filling the room.
Wen Zang felt a strong sense of fear when facing this black fog and wanted to escape, but the fog was too quick. He didn’t even get to scream before his body turned into nothingness. There was no trace of him, not even a speck of his soul could be found. The fog spread out, throughout the entire Wen clan estate consuming every living being within it, whether it was young or old.
And as soon as it appeared, it disappeared. Leaving nothing but an empty estate without a single living soul. Even Wen Zan’s body had disappeared. Sometime later, the Wen clan estate would become a no man’s land. Anyone who entered would never come out. As soon as they stepped through the gates to the estate, they would turn into nothingness. Word spread that the Wen clan had gained the wrath of the heavens and was punished by the heavens bringing about their own demise. It was also said that their evil deeds were so great that the heavens even cursed the estate to never allow the treasures that the Wen clan gained from those evil deeds to be used for all eternity.
Back on Kana’s side, she was scratching her head as she stabilized her cultivation. She really had no idea how she was even able to reach stage five qi condensation without even undergoing her tribulation for reaching stage ten of qi gathering. “I have no idea what happened but at any rate, this is a huge boost for me and my foundation is still solid.”
Kana was not going to complain about her huge overnight spike in power. She would take any kind of boost she could get so she could leave this world faster. “Hmmm?” Kana felt something stir inside her causing her lips to curl up. “Can I use it?” With a wave of her hand seven elemental balls formed in front of her and began floating around her. Fire, Water Earth, Lightning, Death, Holy, and lastly Life all circled around her. “I got access to my magic back…. This is good news but…”
Kana frowned. It was not that she got complete access to her magic but other than her death element, the rest were all formed from her spiritual qi and were draining it at a rapid pace. “Looks like I can only use my death element freely….”
Kana waved her hand making the elemental balls disappear and fell into thought. “Everyone went into closed door cultivation when we got back and planned to be there for about a year. I want to take a mission but I really don’t have a way to take one out since I can not go near others….”
“Well, I guess it will be their fault if they get too close. I can only warn them and try to restrain my death element as much as possible.” Kana decided to go out anyway. Elder Ning did not lock her to the confines of her courtyard and he also said any accidents would not be considered her fault. Which means she can still go out to get a mission if she so chooses.
“With my current strength, I can take on a higher level mission and gain plenty of rewards… Which reminds me, Elder Ning never gave us the rewards for completing the other mission! I will have to be sure to ask him about that the next time I see him.” Kana knew that the points you got from a mission were used to turn in for things like cultivation manuals and the like. Kana wanted to check out some actual techniques that are used in this world and maybe use them as a basis to create her own techniques that used her own power. “Okay then off to the mission pavilion!”
