Chapter 725: Play The Role A Son Should Play
Chapter 725: Play The Role A Son Should Play
“As a son who was made to separate from my mother, who had given me away in hopes I could have a better life. I owe her for bringing me into this world. But to think, after turning my entire being into death element, I would actually have a chance to see my mother for the first time. Even if she is in a new form, I will always be able to recognize the woman who gave birth to me. Her soul tells me everything.
“I guess fate plays many roles throughout life. My consciousness should have disappeared so long ago, but yet here I am, if not for her being in such a deep state of meditation, would I have ever been able to finally play the role a son should play.” The one talking as he stared at the five souls floating in front of him was none other than Devan, Kana’s first and only child from her past life with Creige when he was Ar’en.
Kana had taken in the ball of death element that he formed from his very being, but it seemed part of his soul, his consciousness, still lingered within it and was merged into Kana’s body. But because it was so faint, it was never able to come out until now, now that Kana was in a deep state of cultivation, where she was detached from the world itself.
Devan was able to see all of Kana’s experiences and shyly kept the ones he should not see from playing out. A warm smile formed on Kana’s lips as her head shook. “So I have baby sisters…. I so wish I could see them. It seems they do know about me at the very least….”
Kana’s head tilted back as teardrops rolled down her cheeks. Devan never expected he would ever have such strong feelings for a mother and father he never got to know. But now, going through the memories that Kana had hidden deep within her soul, he finally understood the pain she felt back then. He now knew his mother loved him dearly, and so did his father. Devan sighed and wiped the tears from Kana’s face. “It seems I was truly loved….”
Taking a few deep breaths to calm his emotions, Devan turned his gaze to the five souls in front of him and then looked at the five bodies on the floor. “As I said before, my rules are simple. Your souls can stay, but the bodies must go.”
With a wave of Kana’s hand, the five bodies on the floor turned to dust before vanishing into thin air. All that remained of the five figures were five souls, three men and two women. Kana’s lips curled up into an eerie smile as her hand waved once more, causing the five souls to float towards him. “Let’s see….. This world has a thing called cultivation, similar to the leveling system that my mother has. Since this is the case, can your souls not supplement her current lack of power on this world?”
The souls that were floating in the air all stared at Kana in horror. They had no idea what exactly was going on. They only knew that their souls were wrapped in a power beyond their own comprehension. “Let’s see…. Yes, you still have your power even as a soul this is truly interesting.”
Kana’s finger extended out and poked one of the souls. It began to warp and compress together, causing the soul to open its mouth and try to yell out in pain, but no sound was heard. It continued to compress until it turned into a golden ball of light. Devan picked it up and put it in Kana’s mouth. The golden ball turned into a stream of condensed spiritual qi and flowed down Kana’s throat spreading throughout her body. Her beast core took sixty percent of it instantly, reaching rank four, while the rest surged down to Kana’s dantian, making it become saturated with spiritual qi. This, in turn, caused her cultivation level to begin to rise at a rapid pace.
Stage Four…
Strage Seven…
Strage Eleven!
Qi Condensation!
It continued to rise until it finally slowed at stage five qi condensation. She had skipped an entire realm at such a speed that the heavens did not even have time to detect her cultivation hitting stage ten qi gathering, allowing her to skip the heavenly tribulation altogether. Her entire body was refined and reforged in an instant allowing her foundation to stay stable as well.
When Devan checked the progress, he nodded in satisfaction before tapping the last four souls, turning them into balls of golden light as well. “Since too much at one time will be bad, I will make it so that these last four will release their power slowly so her cultivation can be a bit faster than it already is.”
The four balls of light floated towards Kana’s stomach and slowly entered her body. They made their way to her dantian and hid in a dark corner, slowly radiating a tiny stream of spiritual qi. Once this was all settled, Kana’s eyes turned cold once more as she turned and gazed at a certain spot in the room. “You have been watching for some time now. Did you think you could hide from me? Your soul is as visible as the stars in the sky.”
Min’er’s body shook. She had never expected this change in events. She just needed her people to deal with Kana in a way that would make a scene and then plant the evidence to make the Wen clan a target of Moon Crest Academy. But now, the five people she had painstakingly poured all her resources into, who were all at the core formation realm, were dealt with in an instant without any chance to fight back. On top of that, they had become part of her target’s power. And now…. She canceled her concealment technique and looked at Kana, who was still floating in the air. “Who are you?”
“What a stupid question to ask. Did you not hear everything I said before? You only need to know one thing….” Devan’s eyes peered into Min’er’s soul, causing her whole body to freeze. Her eyes were now filled with horror. This was the first time in her life she had ever felt so helpless!
