Rebirth: Saving the Lovely Girl from the Start

Chapter 585 The "Healer’s" Identity

"Go ahead," Xue Rui said with a smile. The little one was just here to watch him play games and pass the time.

With a couple present, the other guys stopped fighting over positions. In LoL, the bottom lane is the standard "couple’s lane," with the guy playing ADC and the girl playing support.

Lin Ruoxi looked at Cai Huazhou’s greasy mouse and took out a tissue to wipe it.

Soon, the five of them were matched with opponents. Xue Rui chose Ashe, who was popular in the current meta, while Lin Ruoxi picked the Healer.

After the champion selections were done, Zhao Chaojie went to the balcony with a cigarette dangling from his lips. "Yell for me when it starts."

Lin Ruoxi took advantage of the short break to open a container of cut fruit for Xue Rui. "Remember to drink water and eat something while you play."

Xue Rui asked, "Xixi, have you played this before?"

Lin Ruoxi shook her head. "I’ve seen Yaoyao play."

"You remember the abilities, right? Just stand behind me and use your W." Xue Rui was very confident in Lin Ruoxi’s memory.

"Mm, I know that one," Lin Ruoxi nodded. She had watched LoL match videos, hoping to have more in common to talk about with Xue Yao.

Xue Rui looked at the champion combination on the screen and suddenly had an idea to tease the little one.

He pointed at the screen and whispered, "The champion I’m playing is Ashe. The one you’re playing is a type of support they call a ’Juicer’."

"Mm, her name is Soraka." Lin Ruoxi didn’t know why Xue Rui was whispering, so she instinctively lowered her voice too.

"Don’t worry about that detail. Everyone just uses nicknames," Xue Rui corrected her.

"Then your Ashe should be called the Frost Archer." Lin Ruoxi leaned in, their foreheads almost touching as they whispered.

"Er... Xixi, you ask too many questions." Xue Rui raised an eyebrow. ’The little one knows too much, she’s not easy to fool.’

Lin Ruoxi shrank back. "Mm, I’ll listen to you. I’ll call them whatever you say."

"Then tell me what we are. Don’t use the word ’playing’," Xue Rui said with a sly grin.

"You’re Ashe, I’m the Juice..." Lin Ruoxi stopped mid-sentence, her face suddenly flushing red. She looked down, grabbing the corner of Xue Rui’s shirt, and stammered.

"W-wait until we get home tonight, okay?"

"Okay..." Xue Rui’s own face reddened. ’I’ve never seen this kind of move before! But since the little one is being so enthusiastic, what else can I say but yes?’

Soon, the game started. Lin Ruoxi’s Healer stood dazedly behind Xue Rui, occasionally hopping forward to give him a bit of health.

"Whoa, Sister Xi actually knows how to play," Qian Huabiao said, surprised. Although Lin Ruoxi looked like she was playing dazedly, after more than ten minutes she still had zero deaths, and Xue Rui’s score was looking great too.

"ULT, ULT, ULT! Why isn’t the Healer ulting?! Does she even know how to play?! What the fuck..." Zhao Chaojie roared, staring at his gray screen.

Lin Ruoxi looked at her ultimate ability, which had just come off cooldown. For a moment, she was too scared to talk back to Zhao Chaojie. Her hand trembled, and she mistakenly pressed E instead of R. Xue Rui’s screen turned gray too.

"What the hell are you yelling about? Can’t you see it just came off cooldown?" Xue Rui cursed.

Xue Rui wasn’t actually angry. He knew Zhao Chaojie didn’t mean it; he just cursed him out a bit to make the little one feel better.

Some people get tilted when they play games, and they always say nasty things when they’re raging.

He glanced over at Lin Ruoxi to his left and saw that the yelling had already made the little one cry.

Cai Huazhou, who had been resting by the door, heard the argument in the dorm and hurried back to his seat to take over for Lin Ruoxi.

"Sister Xi, let me take over. He’s always like this," Cai Huazhou said comfortingly.

"I... I’m sorry," Lin Ruoxi said, her eyes red. She knew Xue Yao also had a bad temper when she played games. She had just gotten Xue Rui killed, and she was terrified that he would yell at her.

Xue Rui shot Zhao Chaojie a nasty glare, sending a shiver down Zhao Chaojie’s spine.

Zhao Chaojie glanced around the dorm and swallowed hard with a GULP. He suddenly realized who the "Healer" was...

At that moment, three other guys were staring daggers at him, and the air seemed to freeze.

Watching the ten-plus-second respawn timer on the screen, every second felt as long as a century.
