Lin Ruoxi froze for a moment, then said with a sense of loss, "I... I’m not capable of that. Can we pick a different dream?"

"We’re not changing it. You have to believe in yourself. You absolutely have it in you," Xue Rui encouraged her.

’He had to use little tricks just to share a bed with her without anything happening, so showering together was out of the question. But this girl was special. As long as she was willing to act as a go-between, the dream would come true sooner or later.’

"Um, then... I’ll give it a try," Lin Ruoxi said, giving Xue Rui a sweet smile.

They drove to the University of Posts and Telecommunications. Xue Rui figured it was still early. On the last day of the weekend, he usually didn’t need to show his face until the evening class meeting, where he’d take note of students who’d left and count those who had returned.

But someone was already taking care of that. His only task now was to go for a stroll with Lin Ruoxi.

"Do you want to go get the computer from your dorm?" Lin Ruoxi suddenly asked. The PC she had built for Xue Rui was still there.

Xue Rui thought about it. He had spent most of September in the dorm and gotten along well with his roommates. He’d probably still need to crash there occasionally between daytime classes. ’They could grab some snacks and drinks, play a few games with the guys... Now *that* is the university experience.’

"Nah, let’s leave it. I’ll use it for games once in a while. Aren’t you going to check on your dorm?" As he spoke, Xue Rui sent a message to his dorm’s group chat, announcing he was back on campus.

"I’m not going. It’s like they have nothing to talk to me about," Lin Ruoxi said with a pout.

Xue Rui gave a wry smile. The gap between them and ordinary university students was just too wide. Lin Ruoxi, in particular, was so exceptional in her studies and looks that she had an unapproachable, almost otherworldly air about her.

Suddenly, Xue Rui’s phone buzzed. He pulled it out and saw several messages from his roommates.

[Old Xue, grab some food for me. I haven’t eaten a single bite since this morning, I’m starving to death.]

[My package, my package! You know my number.]

...

The corner of Xue Rui’s mouth twitched. All he did was ask if anyone was in the dorm, and suddenly he was saddled with a mountain of chores.

"Then let’s go to your dorm. I want to watch you play games." Lin Ruoxi reached out and looped her arm through Xue Rui’s.

She had plenty of time to spend with Xue Rui now, and she loved just watching him, whatever he was doing.

"You’re coming too?" Xue Rui asked, surprised. ’I guess that could work,’ he muttered to himself.

Lin Ruoxi was extremely popular with the male students, not just for her beauty, but for her incredible skills.

For instance, Lin Ruoxi had hooked up their dorm’s router to a UPS. Every time the power cut out late at night, theirs was the only room with internet, making the neighboring dorms that leeched off their Wi-Fi drool with envy.

Classmates frequently asked her about all sorts of tricky computer issues in the QQ group chat, and Lin Ruoxi could always provide several clear, logical solutions.

In their class, most people viewed Lin Ruoxi through a "pro-level" filter—a sign of respect for her talent and technical skills.

"Is that not okay?" Lin Ruoxi asked timidly.

"Of course you can. I’m just worried they’ll get jealous of me."

Xue Rui took her hand as he spoke, but she started walking in the opposite direction. He corrected her,

"Xixi, you’re going the wrong way."

"Um, they said they were hungry."

Xue Rui sighed in resignation and went with her.

While they were buying the food, Xue Rui sent a photo to the group chat, adding a line of text: I was fully prepared to let you guys starve, but my girlfriend’s too soft-hearted.

Xue Rui’s goal was to get his roommates to quickly tidy up the dorm, sparing Lin Ruoxi’s eyes from the inevitable mess.

However, it didn’t take long for the news to spread to the neighboring dorms. Lin Ruoxi was even tagged in the class group chat.

[Sister Xi, could you please swing by room 625? Our internet and computers are acting up a bit.]

Lin Ruoxi, who was waiting for their food, showed the screen to Xue Rui. After he nodded, she replied in the chat: [Okay, Xue Rui says it’s fine.]

Xue Rui looked at the message and could only smile. ’This girl really asks for my permission for everything,’ he thought.

After grabbing the food, they arrived at the boys’ dormitory, where the dorm matron stopped Lin Ruoxi as expected.

"Young lady, what business do you have in the boys’ dorm?" the dorm matron asked.

Lin Ruoxi replied nervously, "F-fixing computers."

"Fixing computers?" The dorm matron was baffled. The excuse reminded her of her time at the girls’ dorm, when boys would constantly use the same line to try and sneak in.

’Normally, she would have kicked them out without a second thought.’

’But this situation was different. She was the matron of the *boys’* dorm, responsible for protecting the safety and property of the male students.’

’The girl’s excuse was obviously fake. What girl knows how to fix computers, anyway?’

’Should I let her in?’

’I mean, who’s really at a disadvantage here?’

Just as Xue Rui noticed the dorm matron’s hesitation and was about to explain, a male classmate from their class came running down the stairs, shouting from a good distance away, "Class President, I came down to get you guys! I just saw you from upstairs."

A nerve twitched in Xue Rui’s brow. ’Since when did I ever get this kind of treatment?’

’These bastards weren’t even trying to hide their intentions.’

Xue Rui hesitated. ’Well, he didn’t specify *which* of us was the class president,’ he thought. He turned to Lin Ruoxi and said, "Class President, someone’s here to get you."

The dorm matron nodded. A female class president entering the boys’ dorm wasn’t such a big deal. She waved them through. "Go on in."

Lin Ruoxi only started walking into the dorm after a gentle push from Xue Rui. She smiled and said, "Class President, looks like I stole your title."

"Sister Xi, can we get our dorm Wi-Fi hooked up so it doesn’t go out when the power does?" the male student asked with a smile. "I heard they’re going to start cutting the power even earlier after the National Day holiday."

"Um, the cost..." Lin Ruoxi trailed off, a little hesitant.
