Old Master Gu: "Useless, useless, all useless. Isn’t there a doctor in our household? Call him over then."

Servant: "Master, in the afternoon, Doctor Yuan said something came up at home and took leave."

Doctor Yuan’s household always seems to have something happening, especially at a time like this. Old Master Gu was almost beside himself with rage, but since things had already come to this point, anger was of no use. He could only call the doctor to examine what exactly was going on? Who had such audacity? To dare poison right under his nose.

The death of one or two concubines meant little to Old Master Gu; the key was nearly being killed himself. That was the main issue.

Investigate. This matter must be thoroughly investigated. He would see who had eaten the courage of bear’s heart and leopard’s gall, daring to plot against him.

Old Master Gu had just regained consciousness, his legs were weak, too unstable to stand. He could only sit on the chair, weakly expressing his anger: "Where is the steward? Where has he died off to?"

The servant was anxious and uneasy, saying: "Reporting to Master, the steward has gone personally to find the doctor!"

Old Master Gu, breathing heavily, weakly cursed: "I’m so angry I could die. Who, exactly? Who is attempting to harm me."

The servant advised: "Master, your body is weak. Would you like to rest in your room for a while, and wait for the doctor to arrive to check on you?"

"Mm, that will be good."

Old Master Gu also felt incredibly weak, panting even while speaking. He turned his head to glance at Aunt Yu lying silently on the bed, alarmed beyond belief, realizing he almost ended up like her, with his soul dispatched to the Underworld.

To ascertain if Aunt Yu was truly dead, Old Master Gu said to the servant nearby: "Go check if Aunt Yu is no longer breathing."

The servant agreed, walked to the bedside, reached out to check Aunt Yu’s breath, finding only cold stillness. It seemed she had indeed fragrant and jade perished.

Servant: "Reporting to Master, it seems she has stopped breathing!"

Old Master Gu was furious, cursing: "What do you mean by seems? It’s either yes or no! Is Aunt Yu dead or not?"

He wanted to be sure who was so vicious, wanting his life.

"There’s no breath, but...!"

At this, the servant cautiously glanced at Aunt Yu’s heart.

Having stayed in large households long enough! Has seen much of life and death, knowing some may have seemingly stopped breathing, but if the heart still beats, with timely rescue from a doctor, they can be saved.

Thus, the servant dared not definitively say Aunt Yu was dead.

Old Master Gu was about to explode in fury: "But what? Can’t you just say it all at once."

The servant’s face turned crimson: "I don’t know whether Aunt Yu’s heart is still beating, so I dare not affirm she’s already dead."

"Then hurry and check it!"

Old Master Gu, enraged and out of breath, had just woken from poisoning, with some lack of energy, coughed after speaking only a few words: "Cough, cough, cough...!"

They’re all a bunch of good-for-nothings, exasperating him to death!

The servant’s face showed difficulty; the heart is at a woman’s most sensitive spot, he yearned to touch it, but alas he was a man, Aunt Yu was the Master’s woman, he feared Master would settle accounts after autumn, fearing for his small life!

Old Master Gu, breathing heavily, almost poisoned but nearly furious to death by the ignorant servant before him: "Why are you just standing there? Deaf, aren’t you?"

The servant frightenedly fell to his knees with a thump, wailed: "Master, gender propriety forbids, I dare not offend Aunt Yu."

Indeed, he was nearly driven mad, this servant was male, unable to touch his woman, so Old Master Gu then turned to the maid beside him, furious: "You, go check if Aunt Yu is still alive, or I’ll take your lives for making mistakes."
