Chapter 1533: Chapter 1533: Uprooted (13)

After exchanging a few words, Wang Yuning glanced at Gong Bei and reminded, "Gong Bei, it’s getting late. Let’s go have dinner first. We can talk while we eat."

"Look at me, getting so excited that I forgot about dinner. Let’s go eat." Gong Bei said as he headed toward the parking lot. His car was parked there, as was Mu Qiancheng’s, so the group headed to the parking lot together.

Once they reached the parking lot, Huo Cong placed the items he was carrying into the trunk, then moved to the driver’s seat.

Gong Bei also got into his car and headed to the restaurant. Huo Cong drove behind him, and soon enough they arrived at their destination.

The restaurant was bustling, with the main hall fully occupied. Luckily, Gong Bei had reserved a table in advance, so they simply mentioned his name and headed to a private room on the second floor.

Once inside the private room, Gong Bei directly instructed the waiter, "Serve one of each of your signature dishes, and also an extra portion for a child."

The waiter nodded, took the menu, and left. Soon after, someone else brought in some tea.

While waiting for the food, the group chatted while sipping tea.

Jiang Xue, with her child in tow, whispered with Wang Yuning, while the three men discussed men’s topics.

After a bit of chatting, there was a knock at the door as the waiter came in to serve the food. Once the dishes were served, Gong Bei invited everyone to start eating.

Little Reunion watched everyone eating, feeling envious. Unfortunately, his food hadn’t arrived yet, and the recently served dishes were a bit spicy and not suitable for children.

He couldn’t eat, so he could only watch. Luckily, it wasn’t long before his food arrived, and he happily started eating on his own with a spoon.

As more dishes were served, everyone continued chatting while eating. By the time the meal was finished, over two hours had passed.

After the meal, Little Reunion felt bored with no one to play with or talk to, so he started dozing off.

Seeing that their son was sleepy, Jiang Xue spoke to Mu Qiancheng, who was eagerly chatting, "Qiancheng, our son is tired. I’ll take him back to sleep. You guys continue talking."

Mu Qiancheng, upon hearing this, didn’t want to. So, he said to Gong Bei, "My son needs to sleep; let’s catch up another day."

Gong Bei naturally had no objections. Since he and Mu Qiancheng both attended the military academy, they’d have plenty of chances to chat. It’s just that they didn’t have much time while in school.

As for Huo Cong, he didn’t mind either. During their earlier conversation, he mostly listened quietly and rarely chimed in.

Thus, Gong Bei found the waiter to settle the bill, and they all went their separate ways.

Just like the day before, Huo Cong drove Jiang Xue and her family of three downstairs before leaving. Mu Qiancheng carried his son home, placed him on the bed, and let him sleep.

After settling their son, Mu Qiancheng sat in the living room and talked with Jiang Xue for a while, then they both took an afternoon nap together.

When they woke, it was already the afternoon. At that moment, the house phone rang, and when Jiang Xue answered it, it turned out to be Housekeeper Lin calling.

It turned out Mr. Mu had heard that Jiang Xue was there and specifically invited them over for dinner.

Jiang Xue initially planned to visit the next day, but knowing Mu Qiancheng had to attend school the following day, she agreed with a smile.

Housekeeper Lin was delighted to hear Jiang Xue agree. After hanging up the phone, he started making preparations. Mr. Mu was also very happy to hear Jiang Xue accepted the dinner invitation.
