Rebirth: I have Monopoly System
Chapter 515 Qi Fei's Visit, a Welcoming Bai Yue
After checking into the hotel, Qi Fei glanced at the time. It was only three in the afternoon.
So she decided to call Wu Yun first.
“Xiaoyunzi, what do you think? Should I go see Aunt Yu now?”
When it came to business, Wu Yun stopped joking. “Hold on! Let me ask my mom if she has time this afternoon. Her schedule is usually even more packed with meetings than mine!”
Wu Yun hung up, then called back just a few minutes later.
His voice was full of laughter. “Go for it! It’s the perfect time. My mom is dying to meet her future daughter-in-law!”
“She’ll definitely ask you to stay for dinner tonight, so just go with the flow!”
“Oh! Right! Make sure you eat a lot tonight! HAHAHAHA!”
With that, Wu Yun hung up.
Qi Fei, who had been a little nervous, immediately felt her tension ease after Wu Yun’s teasing.
She then called Liu Xin and told them they should head out together.
The scorching sun beat down, baking the earth.
Holding an umbrella, Qi Fei followed Wu Yun’s directions to the lobby.
“Hello! Who are you here to see? Do you have an appointment?” the receptionist asked with a smile, her eyes continuously sizing up Qi Fei, who was wearing sunglasses.
“I’m Qi Fei. I’m here to see President Yu Min.” The moment the words left Qi Fei’s mouth, the receptionist’s smile widened.
The receptionist said enthusiastically, “Miss Qi, hello! Please come with me! President Yu left specific instructions. Right this way!”
As she rode the private elevator upstairs, Qi Fei was still a little amazed. ‘No wonder Wu Yun is so eager to have his own building,’ she thought. ‘It’s incredibly convenient.’
When the elevator doors opened, a smiling woman in her twenties, dressed in professional attire, was waiting.
“Miss Qi! Hello! I’m President Yu’s secretary, Xiaoliu. Please come with me.”
Qi Fei suddenly felt the woman looked familiar, as if she had seen her photo on someone’s WeChat Moments.
‘That’s it! I think it was on the WeChat Moments of Wu Yun’s secretary, Wang Hao!’
But Qi Fei was in no mood for gossip. The closer she got, the more nervous she became. It was her first time meeting his parents, and she was doing it alone. ‘All the answers I prepared… I’ve forgotten everything!’
At the sound of Xiaoliu’s knock, Qi Fei instantly composed herself. She took off her sunglasses, placed them in her bag, and walked straight into the office.
In the spacious office, Qi Fei immediately spotted Yu Min bent over her desk, working.
Before Yu Min could even look up, Qi Fei smiled and said, “Aunt Yu! Hello! I’m Qi Fei, Wu Yun’s girlfriend!”
Yu Min looked up at the beautiful young woman before her, a smile instinctively gracing her lips. ‘My son really knows how to pick them,’ she thought with admiration. “Feifei! Please, have a seat on the sofa and rest for a moment. Auntie is almost finished here and will be right with you. Thank you for coming all this way; it must have been a tiring journey.”
Qi Fei offered a polite reply and sat primly on the sofa. She wouldn’t dare be as casual here as she was at home.
While she waited, Qi Fei sent Wu Yun an update on how things were going.
“Feifei, you’re much prettier in person than you are on television!” Yu Min said as she walked over.
Qi Fei looked up and quickly stood, replying courteously, “Auntie, you’re very beautiful yourself! How else could you have such a handsome son like Wu Yun?”
Yu Min broke into a broad smile at the compliment. “You certainly have a way with words!”
Seeing this, Qi Fei breathed an inward sigh of relief. ‘Unlike the iron lady I was expecting, Yu Min seems quite kind and approachable.’
She presented Yu Min with the handmade gift she had prepared.
Afterward, a session of questions and answers began. Under Yu Min’s gentle inquiry, Qi Fei found herself explaining her entire situation.
Yu Min grew increasingly satisfied as she learned that Qi Fei also came from a wealthy family and carried herself with the grace of a well-bred young lady.
“What made you decide to study acting?” Yu Min asked, her curiosity piqued.
Qi Fei smiled shyly. “I love the feeling of portraying different characters. I discovered I had a knack for it during a school performance in high school.”
“I gradually fell in love with it, and since my family didn’t have to worry about money, I was able to pursue the path of an arts student.”
Yu Min leaned forward slightly. “So, what are your plans for the future? What have you and Xiaoyun discussed about your long-term goals?”
Yu Min’s question was tactful. She knew a fair bit about the entertainment industry—it was full of actresses who were still unmarried in their thirties and forties. She didn’t entirely approve of the public exposure, or the fact that one sometimes had to compromise their principles or suck up to others to get by.
Being exceptionally sharp, Qi Fei immediately understood the implication behind the question. “Wu Yun and I have already talked about it. Whether I’ve achieved my goals by the time I’m thirty or not, I plan to retire from acting and focus on being a devoted wife and mother.”
A blissful smile spread across Qi Fei’s face as she spoke. “That’s why Wu Yun started a film and television company, invested in movies and shows, and is doing everything to support me. He hopes I can achieve my dreams quickly… so I can give him a big, healthy baby boy!”
Yu Min nodded as she listened, smiling. “Very good! It’s good to have ambition. I won’t meddle in you young people’s affairs. But of course, if Xiaoyun ever wrongs you, you must tell me! I’ll help you teach him a lesson!”
“That boy of mine has a wandering eye, I swear. Sigh… But at least he’s responsible and doesn’t fool around recklessly. Otherwise, I would have dealt with him a long time ago!”
This was a test. If Qi Fei had taken the bait and started complaining about Wu Yun, it would have backfired.
Instead, Qi Fei smiled. “Auntie, please don’t be too hard on Wu Yun! He may have a wandering eye, but he’s genuinely devoted to all three of us. He does his best to fulfill all of our needs. So in the future, I will do my best to support him and manage our home, so he can focus on his work without any worries.”
