Chapter 392 - 356: Seizing the Opportunity, an Invitation to the Tycoons’ Gathering

Smiling, Wu Yun had Wang Hao hand him a ten-thousand-dollar chip, preparing to start placing heavy bets.

Until now, the tourists and gamblers had mostly been betting five hundred or a thousand at a time. The sight of someone throwing down a ten-thousand-dollar chip instantly riled up the crowd.

Even if they weren’t betting themselves, watching the high-stakes action was still an exciting event.

"No more bets!"

As everyone expected, Wu Yun, who was on a hot streak, successfully won a ten-thousand-dollar payout.

After a few more rounds, the principal and winnings in Wu Yun’s hands easily reached US$300,000.

The middle-aged dealer’s expression never changed. He continued to shake the dice cup in his hand as if Wu Yun had only won a dozen bucks or so.

This time, on a whim, Wu Yun didn’t place his bet before the dealer set down the dice cup. Instead, he waited until after the dealer had set it down and called "No more bets," only then pushing a stack of ten ten-thousand-dollar chips onto the area for a specific triple: three ones.

The dealer’s pupils contracted slightly, but he made no other move.

The gamblers who had been planning to follow Wu Yun’s lead suddenly hesitated. After a moment’s pause, most of them placed their chips on the "Big" or "Small" betting areas.

Only one black man with a thick gold chain muttered, "Hey! Brother! For the sake of your luck, I guess I’ll back you up!"

Having won a little by tailing Wu Yun, the man placed a ten-thousand-dollar chip next to Wu Yun’s stack.

Seeing that not many people had followed the bet, the dealer let out a silent sigh of relief. He then impassively lifted the lid of the dice cup.

"WHAT THE FUCK!"

"SHIT!"

"OH MY GOD!"

"HOLY SHIT!"

...

Curses from various nations erupted in an instant. Everyone stared in disbelief at the three red dots inside the dice cup.

"Oh my god! Brother! You’re my honest-to-god brother!" The black man was so happy he was dancing. If not for the crowd in the way, he probably would have thrown himself at Wu Yun and planted a kiss on him.

"Three hundred sixty thousand dollars! My dear Franklin!" The black man happily collected his original stake and the casino’s payout of 36 ten-thousand-dollar chips.

However, when he saw Wu Yun rake in three one-million-dollar chips and seven hundred-thousand-dollar chips, the black man’s happiness turned to ecstatic excitement. He muttered, "Man! I should’ve trusted your luck even more, brother!"

Those who had been following Wu Yun earlier were now kicking themselves, filled with regret.

The dealer quickly composed himself and said to Wu Yun with a smile, "Sir, please secure your chips first. Your funds are now sufficient to play in the high-roller area. Would you be interested?"

Wu Yun replied, "Two more rounds!"

Seeing Wu Yun’s insistence, the dealer said no more and began shaking the dice cup.

Amidst the clatter of the dice against the cup, the crowd of tourists and gamblers stared at the chips in Wu Yun’s hands, ready to follow his next bet.

Anyone who could win several rounds in a row, whether through skill or luck, was worth trusting. The incredible upset just now had further convinced the crowd of Wu Yun’s luck and prowess.

Seeing that most people were waiting for him, Wu Yun knew he couldn’t play at this table for much longer. He casually placed five ten-thousand-dollar chips on "Big."

The moment Wu Yun placed his bet, the surrounding crowd swarmed to place their chips on "Big" as well. In an instant, the chips in that area were piled so high they nearly overflowed.

Seeing that no one else was betting, the dealer’s hand, which was shaking the dice cup, gradually came to a stop.

"OPEN! OPEN! OPEN!"

Hearing the shouts from the crowd, the dealer lifted the lid.

"Holy shit! Triple sixes!" Hearing a familiar Huaxia phrase, Wu Yun couldn’t help but look across the table. It was a rosy-cheeked young man with a scantily clad woman from Europe or America on his arm.

As if sensing Wu Yun’s gaze, the young man simply gave him a slight nod without speaking.

Wu Yun withdrew his gaze and sighed. ’Looks like my luck is about to run out!’

A server standing next to the dealer smilingly swept the chips into the house’s box, quickly clearing the table before nodding at the dealer.

And so, to the sound of the dealer shaking the dice, a new round began.

Though he had said he’d play two more rounds, Wu Yun ended up playing several more, losing another five hundred thousand USD in the process.

At this point, Wu Yun sensed something was unusual. He used his Detection Glasses to scan the dealer and immediately understood the reason.

The dealer’s Skills, "Dice Throwing: Master" and "Gambling: Proficient," were displayed prominently on the panel.

’No wonder. Everyone who bet with me these last few rounds lost a little.’

Wu Yun then feigned annoyance. "What rotten luck! Looks like my luck’s run out for tonight! It’s getting late! I’ll be back tomorrow night!"

With that, Wu Yun turned and walked toward the entrance, taking a large portion of the crowd with him and leaving the table nearly empty.

Nick smiled as he led the way. "Mr. Wu, did you have a good time tonight?"

Nick discreetly glanced at the colorful assortment of chips on the tray Wang Hao was holding, feeling quite happy himself.

The hotel didn’t prohibit its employees from gambling, so Nick had tagged along for a few rounds when Wu Yun was on his hot streak and made a small profit.

Wu Yun nodded, a faint smile on his face. The three million-plus US dollars were a small matter; the beautiful woman beside him was the main event.

"It was great! My luck was very good tonight! And of course, I had my lucky goddess with me!" Wu Yun wrapped an arm around Ayaka Sanji’s fragrant shoulders, only pulling his gaze away after she revealed a bashful expression.

Arriving at the chip exchange counter, the teller counted Wu Yun’s chips and said, "Sir, cashing out US$3,400,000 in chips!"

"Would you like that in cash or as a check?"

Wu Yun thought for a moment, then took a ten-thousand-dollar chip from the pile and tossed it to Nick. "I had a great time tonight. Here! For your trouble!"

Nick joyfully caught the tossed chip, thanking him profusely. "Thank you, Mr. Wu!"

In all his years working here, Nick had rarely encountered a client as generous as Wu Yun. His earnings tonight were equivalent to what he’d normally make in two or three months!

Ignoring Nick’s thanks, Wu Yun took out three hundred-thousand-dollar chips and pressed them into Ayaka Sanji’s hand. "This is for you. Don’t refuse."

Ayaka Sanji hadn’t expected to receive a share. A look of delight crossed her face, mixed with some hesitation. It was just too much! Her entire life savings didn’t amount to this much.

But seeing Wu Yun’s insistent expression, the submissive nature of a Japanese woman took over, and Ayaka Sanji quickly bowed her head in thanks. "Wu Yunsang, thank you so much!"

With a shy expression, Ayaka Sanji then whispered in Japanese that only Wu Yun could understand, "Wu Yunsang! Please allow me to serve you tonight, okay?"

Wu Yun glanced at Ayaka Sanji’s Affinity, which had risen to 85. A smile touched his lips as he wrapped his arm around her waist and said, "Alright! No problem!"

Then, Wu Yun took out another US$300,000 in chips and handed them to Wang Hao. "You guys split this!"

"Wang Hao, put the rest in the slush fund! Oh, and remember to pay taxes when we get back to the country! After all, this is legal income!"

After Wang Hao, with Nick’s help, had the check processed, the group walked out of the main entrance and headed toward the item depository.

Watching the endless stream of people still walking in from outside, Wu Yun couldn’t help but marvel, "It’s almost eleven! How are there still so many people coming in!"

Nick, standing beside him, chuckled. "Mr. Wu, our casino is open twenty-four hours a day. The staff works in three shifts, so we can accommodate all our guests at any time."

At the depository, some people watched with varied expressions as Wei Wu and the others took out handguns from a case and tucked them into shoulder holsters under their armpits, their eyes then flicking up to the "VIP ACCESS" sign above.

Just as Wu Yun and his group were about to leave, a staff member in a suit came chasing after them. "Mr. Wu, please wait a moment!"

Wu Yun turned his head to see Caviar and Hawkeye immediately position themselves between him and the approaching man. He asked Nick, "Is he one of your staff?"

Nick nodded, a look of realization on his face. "Mr. Wu, they’re from the casino’s Management department!"

Hearing there was no threat, Caviar and Hawkeye parted to let the man through.

Under the watchful eyes of the bodyguards, the staff member took an exquisite card from his inner jacket pocket and said, "Mr. Wu, the Venetian Casino cordially invites you to the mogul’s gathering being held the day after tomorrow. This is your invitation!"
