Rebirth: I have Monopoly System

Chapter 390 - 355: Casino, Lucky Ayaka Sanji

  • Next Chapter

Wang Hao took Fifty Dollars in cash from his bag and handed it to Jenny.

The surrounding security guards saw Wu Yun’s bodyguards simultaneously reach under their arms and couldn’t help but go on high alert, their right hands moving to the pistols at their waists.

However, what happened next made them breathe a sigh of relief. Wei Wu and his men were standing at the front desk, drawing their pistols from under their arms. They handed them over to Jenny with the muzzles pointed at themselves and the grips toward her.

As requested, Jenny placed name tags on the guns before accepting their spare magazines and various daggers.

Watching this, Ayaka Sanji suddenly realized that Nakamura Saki must have bumped into the grip of Da Xiong’s holstered gun earlier that day.

But this only made her more curious about Wu Yun’s identity. Going out with five bodyguards was a level of protection that not even the CEO of a major corporation in Japan would necessarily have.

When it was her turn, she placed her own bag into a special box provided by the casino.

Jenny saw that Da Xiong and Caviar were each carrying a large briefcase, so she asked, "Gentlemen, do you need to check your bags?"

Wei Wu and the others shook their heads in unison. Nick still had Da Xiong and the other man open their briefcases to check for weapons.

Unexpectedly, the moment they were opened, the briefcases instantly transformed into bulletproof shields nearly the height of a man.

Da Xiong chuckled. "There’s no rule against bringing bulletproof shields into the casino, is there? This is the gear we use to protect our boss."

Nick and Jenny exchanged a look, shrugged, and didn’t press the issue. Besides, there was a second security checkpoint.

Sure enough, at the security checkpoint, even though the metal detectors didn’t go off, the guards still thoroughly frisked the imposing-looking men. They apologized afterward; they couldn’t afford to offend a high-value client, but it was their duty.

This, however, was very reassuring to the other visiting patrons. The casino certainly did an excellent job when it came to security.

After passing through the corridor, Wu Yun and the others stepped into another world. Dazzlingly brilliant, overflowing with light, endlessly extravagant—words like these were made to describe this place.

Wu Yun had thought the hotel itself was the pinnacle of luxury, but as he entered the main hall and took in the bustling crowd and the glittering golden decor that dazzled the eye, his very definition of the word was rewritten.

Despite being in a basement, Wu Yun didn’t feel stuffy at all.

Wu Yun couldn’t help but recall an urban legend he’d read online. ’To keep gamblers from getting tired, casinos are not only well-ventilated but also pump in huge amounts of oxygen from generators, making the air 60% more oxygen-rich than outside. The abundant oxygen keeps gamblers in a constant state of excitement.’

Indeed, looking at the flushed faces and frenetic energy of the tourists and gamblers, Wu Yun figured that even if it wasn’t 60% more oxygen, it had to be close.

"Mr. Wu! Please follow me! The cashier’s cage is this way!" Nick led Wu Yun and his group to the area for exchanging chips.

Seeing Nick approach with a client, the female teller stood and smiled. "Good evening, sir! How much would you like to buy in for?"

Wu Yun stated plainly, "US$100,000 to start."

Hearing this, Wang Hao immediately took a bank card from his bag and handed it to the teller.

After a BEEP from the successful transaction, Wang Hao signed the receipt. The teller then asked with a smile, "Sir, what denominations would you like your chips in?"

Wu Yun replied casually, "A mix of hundreds, thousands, and ten-thousands."

With chips in hand, Wu Yun gestured toward the main floor. "So this is the general gaming area?"

Nick smiled. "That’s right! Do you have any particular game in mind?"

Wu Yun shook his head. "I’m not really familiar with what games are popular in the United States. Why don’t you give us a tour first."

The main floor was crowded, so Wu Yun’s party only drew the notice of a few observant people. The rest of the gamblers were completely engrossed in their own worlds, oblivious to anything else.

And so, led by Nick, Wu Yun began to wander around the main floor.

However, after a string of losses at the baccarat and blackjack tables, the ten thousand dollars in chips Wu Yun had started with had dwindled to a single thousand-dollar chip in less than half an hour.

Everyone, including Ayaka Sanji, felt a pang of vicarious pain watching Wu Yun lose nearly ten thousand dollars in such a short time.

’Ten thousand dollars was equivalent to over 1.3 million yen, after all. This casino makes money way too fast!’ Ayaka Sanji thought.

Wu Yun seemed completely unfazed by his losses. He simply chuckled and pointed to a nearby table. "Nick! How do you play that one?"

"Mr. Wu, that’s a simple dice game," Nick explained. "You just bet on Big or Small, or guess the specific total. The rules are easy: you place your bet before the dealer uncovers the dice. Fun fact, this game actually came over from Macau!"

"A total of four to ten is ’Small,’ and eleven to seventeen is ’Big.’ Anything else is a specific total or triple."

Wu Yun’s interest was piqued. He waved his hand. "Let’s go check it out!"

’I still haven’t redeemed the ’Gambling Mastery’ Skill,’ Wu Yun thought. ’I just want to experience the fun of it all and see something new!’

’Though from that last run, besides not knowing the rules, it feels like my luck is a bit off, too.’

Now that he’d found a game he was familiar with, Wu Yun naturally had to give it a try.

Just as someone was leaving, Wu Yun stepped up to take their place at the table.

A beautiful female dealer was vigorously shaking a dice cup, the dice clattering inside.

THWACK! The dealer slammed the cup down on the table. "No more bets!"

Wu Yun noticed a few other Asian players placing their chips on the "Big" section. The entire layout had annotations in Huaxia characters, explaining the odds and totals.

After a moment’s thought, Wu Yun tossed his last One Thousand Dollar chip onto the "Small" area.

GASP! Someone in the crowd sucked in a sharp breath. A One Thousand Dollar bet wasn’t a common sight at the general tables.

The dealer was worldly and unfazed. Once all bets were placed, she lifted the cover.

"Whoa~" A murmur went through the crowd.

"Shit!"

"Motherfucker!"

Everyone stared at the three bright red pips on the dice—three ones. Some people couldn’t help but curse out loud.

Since it was a triple, nobody won. Wu Yun’s One Thousand Dollars had gone down the drain.

After an attendant cleared the losing chips from the table, the dealer started shaking the dice for a new round.

Wu Yun turned, grabbed a handful of One Hundred Dollar chips from the tray Wang Hao was holding, and, after a moment’s thought, stuffed them into Ayaka Sanji’s hands. "You bet for me! My luck is awful today!"

Ayaka Sanji looked hesitant, as if she wanted to say something but couldn’t.

Wu Yun chuckled and patted her on the shoulder. "It’s fine! We’re just having fun! If you lose, it’s my treat."

Ayaka Sanji didn’t dare to be as free-spending as Wu Yun. She carefully placed a single One Hundred Dollar chip on the "Small" area, tightly gripping the rest of the chips he had given her.

It wasn’t that Ayaka Sanji wanted to use a smaller chip; the One Hundred Dollar chips were the smallest denomination Wu Yun had.

"No more bets!~"

When the dealer revealed the dice, Ayaka Sanji excitedly grabbed Wu Yun’s arm. "Yay! We won, we won!"

But she immediately caught herself and said shyly, "Wu Yunsang, I’m sorry. I got too excited!"

Wu Yun just smiled and gestured for her to collect the original bet and the winnings the dealer pushed forward.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of her graceful figure as she bent over to collect the chips. The form-fitting jeans accentuated the long, slender lines of her legs.

’She really has a model’s figure,’ he thought.

For the next three rounds, Ayaka Sanji won every single bet. Wu Yun couldn’t help but marvel at it. ’Some people just have all the luck.’

Wu Yun checked Ayaka Sanji’s Affinity level. It had already reached 70.

He draped his arm over Ayaka Sanji’s shoulder, almost in an embrace, and said excitedly, "Ayaka! Nicely done! Making back my losses is all on you now!"

Ayaka Sanji didn’t seem to mind his action. Instead, she just nodded seriously. "Wu Yunsang! Just watch me!"
