Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack
Chapter 1845 - 1825:
Chapter 1845: Chapter 1825:
Luo Qianqian quietly looked at the booklet in her hands, which was filled with characters she couldn’t comprehend. He Wenyu was busy on the side, and Mo hadn’t returned yet, leaving her completely bewildered.
She had asked those around her, from Di Jun to Long Tu and even Ji Lei and Kuang Xiao, but none of them recognized the script.
Considering Mo hadn’t returned yet, the chance of him recognizing it was slim. She decided to toss the book into the Nether Ring and deal with it later.
The Emperor saw Luo Qianqian sitting by herself and curiously approached her, plate in hand: "Where did you get that thing?"
"From Senior Brother."
"Why don’t you ask your Senior Brother?"
"If he was going to tell me, would I be so troubled?" Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes. "Just eat your food, then go help Shiliu. I need to go cultivate."
Cultivate???
Di Jun stared at Luo Qianqian entering the room, his face full of bewilderment.
"What’s up?" Long Tu also walked over. The characters earlier were completely unfamiliar, so how could they recognize them? Anyone able to read such a script must be quite eccentric. What was the person who gave her this book thinking?
"Shiqi said she’s going to cultivate, in broad daylight, no less..." Di Jun was in disbelief. "Even when preparing for exams, she’s never been so keen on cultivation."
"This probably means something’s going to happen," Long Tu looked calmly in the direction Luo Qianqian had disappeared, at the tightly closed door, then clapped Di Jun on the back. "Come on, let’s help Shiliu deliver things to Forget Worries Tea House. Oh right... I found some food for Shiqi’s rabbit but forgot to give it to her. Might as well give it to Shiliu."
They handed the bag of items to Shiliu and headed off to Forget Worries Tea House. The two seemed quite relaxed and natural.
But He Wenyu was visibly frustrated, tossing the bag near the door and taking a seat on a chair.
Her task seemingly inexplicably turned into cooking. Even though cooking wasn’t a big deal, why research attributes? The old man hadn’t explained the medicinal cuisine thoroughly, just leaving her to figure it out on her own. She only enjoyed making nutritious and tasty food.
She only knew the ingredients she was familiar with, but she hadn’t found a definite answer to what kind of cold or hot properties the medicinal herbs had!
What’s more important is that these herbs mainly served as warm supplements for specific attributes.
There wasn’t a detailed book recording these, was she supposed to research and write it herself? It felt so exhausting...
Inside, one person soaked in the bath to cultivate, lost in the process, and another fell into a slumber engulfed by frustration, getting a peaceful sleep without interruptions.
When both concluded their activities... the sky had already darkened...
Di Jun had waited by the door so long that the flowers withered... Why had no food been prepared? Why was there no sound at all? Was this not deception? Was it fraud? Was it a waste of consumers’ time? Strongly demand Luo Shiliu compensate!
No need for any other compensation, just make more delicious food.
Even when his stomach growled, Di Jun didn’t budge, steadfast at the door, not wanting to go to the cafeteria to eat.
He Wenyu woke up and faced Luo Qianqian, who had just pushed the door open. They both leapt in surprise, rushing to the entrance, opening it to find Di Jun sitting there, visibly embarrassed.
"You two... you’re so unfair!" The moment Di Jun saw them, tears began to fall. He was so hungry he felt immobilized, feeling utterly outraged.
Missing out on good food felt too wrong, not acceptable, wanted to cry... No, he must hold back, he’s a man, and men don’t cry easily.
...Can’t hold back, wah...
Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu were dumbfounded by Di Jun’s reaction, but Luo Qianqian quickly swallowed, hesitantly asking: "Did you cry from hunger?"
Di Jun nodded heavily, looking at them with eyes filled with grievance and yearning, his gaze powerful despite the darkened sky.
Both were speechless for a moment, but He Wenyu soon told Luo Qianqian, "First, give him some biscuits or bread, I’ll go make some food."
"Okay." Luo Qianqian hurriedly agreed, running inside to grab He Wenyu’s previously given compressed biscuits. Though they weren’t tasty... she had no other biscuits.
Giving them to Di Jun, he tasted one and protested: "What is this?"
"Compressed biscuits, they’re like... fasting pills? But for a shorter duration." Luo Qianqian explained earnestly.
Di Jun paused in silence, then kept the biscuits. He wanted delicious food but realized he couldn’t return them now, so saving them seemed reasonable, right?
Just then, Mo returned, noticing Luo Qianqian’s worried gaze at Di Jun. He frowned slightly: "What’s happened? Something wrong?"
Even from a distance, he could see tears glistening on Di Jun’s face. Unless something serious happened, a grown man wouldn’t cry, right?
Luo Qianqian looked at Di Jun and sighed: "Nothing major. What about you? Done with your work?"
"Yes, but time needs considering. Do any of you have wine?" Mo awkwardly bowed his head: "Running low."
Luo Qianqian paused, nodded: "Shiliu might have some at Forget Worries Tea House. My brother’s place should have more, right?"
"I asked already, took what was available, still not enough." Mo felt helpless, given there couldn’t just be one cup per person. Those guys had large families who all loved this!
He Wenyu was shocked by this: "I have some, but they’re not the gift-giving kind, only for cooking use."
She pulled out a giant cask.
Luo Qianqian and Mo Jing were speechless where they stood.
"You could totally use another container, make smaller portions, and nothing much will change. Plus, wine mixes with water in any ratio, if it’s really not enough, just dilute it a bit. They’re unaware of the original taste anyway." Luo Qianqian offered the idea, clapping her hands, seeing He Wenyu’s innocent gaze.
He Wenyu’s hand paused in the midst of chopping vegetables. Was this a bad idea? Such a trickster...
