Chapter 1136: Plans
Chapter 1136: Plans
...
After Izroth wrapped up his business with Sleeping Gardenia, Valkyria took the rest of the Lotus Guard with her to begin the trip back to their post.
As for section leader Zinnia and section leader Meteor Rex, they two greeted Izroth after he finished his conversation with Valkyria and thanked him. After all, it was because of him that they received the S-ranked quest rewards.
Echo, the player whose skill was upgraded from S-ranked to SS-ranked, also stepped forward to thank Izroth. After hearing about her skill and recent contribution, Valkyria decided to put in a word for her to be nurtured. In the future, she would have a chance to become a core member of Sleeping Gardenia.
Izroth thanked the two section leaders and gifted them a few pills as a small token of his appreciation. The rewards for the quest were enough to tempt anyone. This was even more so considering that they would undoubtedly have to face many other top guilds if they wanted to succeed.
Yet, despite the towering task ahead and the odds being seemingly stacked against them, the two section leaders and those that followed them did not hesitate to take Izroth’s side. And, knowing that he would be under siege from the other top guilds, even rushed to his aid.
While what they did in the grand scheme of things did not affect much, it was enough for Izroth to take notice. That kind of outstanding behavior and character deserved to be rewarded by him.
Zinnia, Meteor Rex, Echo and the other players from Sleeping Gardenia and Sacred Beasts Kifa Karsts section thanked Izroth before leaving to return to their duties.
Not long after the group left, a phantom silhouette suddenly appeared before Izroth.
"You finally decided to come out after watching for so long." Izroth said, completely unbothered by the sudden emergence of the phantom.
The phantom locks its ethereal like appearance as Azalea came out from its form.
"Since there was no more danger present, I felt it unnecessary to reveal myself." Azalea replied.
"I see." Izroth said with a carefree smile.
Izroth knew that the real reason Azalea did not show herself until now was that was not a fan of large crowds unless it was in the form of facing a group of enemies.
"The task I gave you?" Izroth inquired.
"As you instructed, I have eliminated every member of Blue Oasis in Kifa Karsts within their designated territory." Azalea replied without hesitation.
Earlier, Izroth tasked Azalea with getting rid of all the Blue Oasis members in Kifa Karsts due to some reckless words uttered by one of its captains, Peaceful Chaos.
"You’ve worked hard. Is there a reward you’d like?" Izroth asked.
Azalea shook her head and replied, "They dared to insult my teacher. Even if you did not give the order, I would have still made them pay for the price of their offense."
Despite Izroth’s willingness to overlook Blue Oasis’ behavior during the raid of the Sea Palace Graveyard due to Niflheim’s upright character, they still dared to behave in such an audacious manner before him. How could Azalea tolerate a group of ungrateful miscreants?
Izroth gave a small nod and said, "I’m sure you’ve already heard, but I will be leaving this part of Kifa Karsts soon."
Hearing Izroth’s words, Azalea seemed as if she wanted to say something, but was hesitate. However, she decided to speak up.
"Teacher, is it possible for me to become a part of your division?" Azalea asked.
"It’s not impossible. That being said, due to the way the war branch is structured, my rank in the General Support Unit is limited to that of a Captain. Even if you joined my division, your rank could never exceed that of a Lieutenant. Right now, you’re a Lead Agent of the War Intelligence Division. In terms of rank, you’re on the same level as me. Rather, given the difference of importance placed on our war branches, you could even be considered as being higher ranked. Are you sure you’re willing to give that up?" Izroth stated clearly.
"Even if I was the Head of the War Intelligence Division, I would still be willing to give it up if it meant following you, teacher. Let alone a mere Lead Agent position." Azalea said without hesitation.
"My teacher has too many enemies in the light and shadows. Those despicable top guilds are also growing more restless by the day. The War Intelligence Division may offer more freedom to moving around when it comes to other war branches outside of the General Support Unit, but I am still restricted when missions are provided. In order to help my teacher, I have to be able to more at my own will at any given time." Azalea thought to herself.
"Good. Then, of course, my division always welcomes you." Izroth said calmly.
He then continued, "However, now is not the time for you to leave the War Intelligence Division."
Upon hearing Izroth’s initial response, Azalea’s eyes seemed to light up with anticipation. But, listening to the words that followed, she could not help but to become somewhat dejected.
Izroth placed his hand on Azalea’s shoulder.
"Do not be too disheartened. Since my student wants to come over to my division, naturally, I will make sure that it happens. But, I need some time to set the stage properly for your arrival. Until then, I want you to remain in the War Intelligence Division and await my call." Izroth said with a carefree smile.
Azalea’s request brought to the surface something Izroth had set to the back of his mind ever since joining the General Support Unit; however, he recently started to think about it once more.
’Considering the contributions I’ve made to the overall war and during the assault on the Night Lord’s Crypt, now is a good time to begin my plans of expanding.’
At the moment, Izroth’s division had less than 50 members total. This was rather far from the usual minimum of 150 members that were supposed to form a division.
Of course, this could not be helped considering the situation of the General Support Unit. Simply put, there were just not that many individuals to go around in the scarcely spread out General Support Unit.
Therefore, Izroth planned to do two things to correct this problem.
The first was to organize an open recruitment. As for the second thing—it was something that would require the Commander of the General Support Unit to make a move personally.
’That woman who pushes all of her tasks onto others and runs away at the first sign of any kind of work... Trying to convince her to make a move—how troublesome.’
"I understand, teacher. You must have your reasons. Until you call for me, I will wait as instructed. Since my Phantom of Harmony accompanying you, I can feel somewhat at ease." Azalea stated as she glanced down at the shadow around Izroth’s feet.
Ever since he left the ore cave, Azalea’s Phantom of Harmony had been hiding in his shadow using a skill called Shadow Meld. It was a skill that allowed one to erase their presence while in a shadow. The downside to this skill was that the one who used Shadow Meld could not move or act until they canceled the skill or it was forcibly broken by an outside force. The upside, however, was that there was no limit on how long the skill could remain active.
"It’s the first time he directly called me his student..." Azalea thought to herself as she cupped her fists and slightly lowered her head respectfully. At the same time, a rare smile briefly flashed behind her veil.
"Hm?" Azalea reached to her side and pulled out a small black plaque with white engravings of the War Intelligence Division on its surface.
The plaque pulsed three times in a patterned sequence between stopping as the white engravings faded.
"I just received new orders. My apologies, teacher. I wanted to continue accompanying you until you finished everything you had to do in Kifa Karsts, but it seems that is no longer possible." Azalea said with a hint of regret.
"I’ll be fine. Be sure to take care of yourself. If anyone dares causes you trouble, you can message me right away. No matter where you are, I will be there at a moment’s notice." Izroth stated confidently.
"Thank you, teacher. Then, until our paths cross again." Azalea’s figure turned into a blurring phantom before she vanished into thin air without leaving a single trace behind.
Izroth released a light sigh as his gaze turned to the sky.
"Now... Shall we handle this matter?" Izroth said to himself as his gaze landed on Empyrean and Selene, who was sprawled out on top of his head.
...
A few moments later, Izroth started to make his way to the coordinates of the Trial Dungeon given to him by Haishe.
Walking beside Izroth was Empyrean. As for Selene, she had moved over to Izroth’s shoulder and was happily perched upon it.

"It’s about time you tell me everything that happened since the last time we parted ways." Izroth said without halting his steps.
He then continued, "More importantly, how did the two of you end up trapped in that place?"
