Chapter 173: Unexpected Situation (Part 2)

Liam stepped out of the carriage and took a deep breath, looking at the mansion before him.

Recalling what William had told him earlier, his eyes gradually turned serious.

"It’s better to become a bit different than to just be left behind..." He muttered under his breath as he walked forward.

After knowing that he would no longer remain human if he accepted the Vampire Bloodline, Liam was reluctant to accept it.

There was no particularly deep reason behind it. It was just that the thought of becoming something completely different made him uneasy.

After all, it hadn’t been long since he had started cultivating, and his worldview was still limited.

William also respected his choice and didn’t force him in any way to accept the Vampire Bloodline.

Just then, out of nowhere, Liam suddenly asked if without accepting the Bloodline, he would be able to defeat people like Edrin, Maya, and the others in the future.

Liam trusted William’s judgment and had a feeling that he would be able to answer this question.

And William’s answer was within his expectations.

"A Bloodline simply gives you another option to increase your strength. Although having a Bloodline is very beneficial, it doesn’t mean you can’t become a powerhouse without one. As long as you continue to work hard, it’s not impossible for you to defeat or even surpass them."

That answer from William finally made him feel at ease, as he was afraid that without a Bloodline, he wouldn’t be able to face those powerful nobles.

After all, William had told him that even the Duke Families had their own special Bloodlines. Though, people like Maya and Edrin hadn’t awakened theirs yet.

But the reason he later agreed to accept the Bloodline was because of some simple words from William.

"Even if you were able to defeat them, you will never be able to defeat me. Forget about defeating me, you might not even be able to keep up with me in the future. But if you have an Apex Grade Bloodline, you might still be able to follow behind me."

Those words completely dumbfounded him, and as he thought about a future where he was still struggling to become a Star Lord while William was already flying around the world with his beautiful wife, he felt a strange itch in his heart.

He didn’t feel bad that he wasn’t successful.

But imagining his close friend becoming so successful while he was still sweeping the floor suddenly made him feel like getting a Bloodline wasn’t such a bad idea.

Moreover, he really didn’t want to be left behind.

Although William’s words were a bit arrogant, saying that he wouldn’t even be able to keep up with him, Liam didn’t doubt them.

He was still at the early stage of the Star Warrior Realm, while William was about to become a Star Commander.

When they first met, there wasn’t much difference between their levels.

But now, that difference was rapidly widening.

Not to mention, even without considering his level, William’s strength was truly too high, making even those nobles feel inferior.

Not wanting to be left behind and, of course, not wanting to continue wiping floors while his friend became successful, he finally decided to accept the Bloodline.

’It’s just a big makeover, nothing much.’

"Have you had dinner?" Just when he was walking forward, he heard a voice from the side and saw William and Vivian standing near the fountain in the garden, looking at him.

"Good evening, Sister-in-Law."

Liam ignored William’s question and greeted Vivian.

Vivian nodded at Liam, and hearing him call her Sister-in-Law, she felt his oiled-up face was more pleasing to the eyes.

Only after greeting her did he look at William and speak.

"I was so nervous that I didn’t have the appetite to eat anything."

"Is that so..." William shook his head. "Do you want to eat something before we start?"

"No." Liam shook his head before glancing at Vivian.

Noticing this, William spoke calmly.

"Don’t worry, she already knows everything. In fact, she herself is a Vampire."

"What?!" Liam was once again stunned and looked at Vivian in shock.

"What? Did you expect me to have a half-bat body with elephant-like teeth?"

Vivian asked in an amused voice as she recalled what Liam had thought of Vampires.

Cough.

Liam coughed upon hearing her and silently looked away, as he was too embarrassed to even think about what he had told William.

William chuckled when he saw this and glanced at Vivian.

"Victoria." Vivian understood his meaning and called out.

The instant her voice fell, a figure appeared in front of them.

"My Lady."

Liam nearly jumped in fright when Victoria appeared like a ghost, and his mouth twitched.

’Don’t tell me I am the only human here.’ He thought, gulping down his saliva.

"Everything is done?" Vivian asked Victoria.

"Yes, My Lady." Victoria nodded. "All the preparations are complete. You can start at any time."

"Good." She nodded and looked at William. "If you are ready, we can start right away."

"Alright." William stepped forward and patted Liam’s shoulder. "Let’s go. It’s time to give you a makeover."

Liam took a deep breath and followed after William and Vivian.

Victoria looked at their departing backs, and her eyes flickered slightly.

"Is My Lady going to turn both of them into Vampires?" She murmured under her breath. "It would be great, since there are only a few Vampires in the family, and I also need some assistance to help with the housework."

William, Vivian, and Liam came to the basement of the mansion, stopping before a closed room.

Vivian opened the door, and William followed after her.

When Liam entered the room, he couldn’t help but pause for a moment.

The room was dimly lit, with nothing but a stone platform in the middle of the room.

Around the platform, a strange crimson magic circle that looked as if it had been made using blood was engraved into the floor.

The room gave Liam an eerie feeling.

"Go and lie down on that stone platform."

Just as he was looking around, Vivian’s voice reached Liam’s ears, and he snapped out of his thoughts.
