Chapter 172: Unexpected Situation (Part 1)

William and Vivian left the dining room and came to the living room.

As William sat down on the sofa, Vivian slumped beside him and lay down while resting her head on his thigh.

"You didn’t encounter any problems during the Blood Moon, right?" William asked as his hand ran through her black hair.

"What could happen to me?" Vivian spoke in a haughty voice. "I should be the one asking you that. Did your Vampire Bloodline affect you?"

William recalled the Blood Moon he had seen from the Black Cliffs and shook his head.

"I didn’t feel anything during the Blood Moon. It just felt like any other ordinary night to me."

Vivian raised an eyebrow at his words.

"Must be because the grade of your Bloodline is already Origin. A normal phenomenon like the Blood Moon can’t affect you."

"Or it might be because my actual Bloodline is Chaos. The Vampire Bloodline is just something assimilated inside it."

Vivian thought about his words for a moment before nodding.

Suddenly, William remembered something and spoke with a frown.

"Vivi, can you check my body to see if there is something wrong with it?"

Vivian’s expression changed when she heard him, and she immediately stood up.

"What’s wrong? Did something happen when you went out this time?"

William pulled her to sit down beside him and spoke calmly.

"It’s nothing like that. I just checked my Aether Affinity and found that it was only at the lowest level of Perfect Grade. Considering that I now possess an Origin Grade Bloodline and my entire body was reconstructed during the assimilation process, even if it’s not Transcendent Grade, I should at least possess a top-level Perfect Affinity. But its level is way lower than that."

"Aether Affinity..." Vivian frowned at his words and placed her hand over his chest.

But he didn’t try to resist and waited calmly.

After a minute, Vivian pulled back her hand and shook her head.

"There is nothing wrong with your body..." She said before adding with a thoughtful look, "Although a high-grade Bloodline grants extraordinary talent, it doesn’t actually mean it also increases your Affinity. Maybe, when your body was reconstructed, it focused more on physical enhancement than Aether Affinity."

"Is that so..." William nodded, but for some reason, he had a feeling that it wasn’t the reason behind his low Affinity.

’Well, Perfect Grade Affinity is already far stronger than my previous Affinity, so it’s not like I have lost anything.’

He shook his head and stopped thinking about it.

To change the subject, he leaned back slightly and asked Vivian.

"Have you got the thing I asked you for?"

Vivian nodded and took out a small bottle filled with blood from her storage ring.

"Blood Essence of a Peak Star Commander-level Gale Tiger." She handed the bottle of blood to him.

"The Body Forging Technique you are practicing is not of a high level. If you want, I can visit the Klaus Empire and find a better one for you."

William shook his head at Vivian’s words.

"You don’t have to trouble yourself with such matters..." He spoke as he stared at the bottle.

"You can just ask your people to keep an eye out for a Body Forging Technique. If something appears, you can try to get it, but there is no need for you to go to the Klaus Empire."

"Body Forging Techniques rarely appear in the Eastern Empire..." Vivian said as she once again lay down, resting her head on his thigh.

"Even the Stellar Family only possesses a basic Body Forging Technique that allows them to strengthen their bodies to the human limit before they turn sixteen years old. Once they start cultivating, it’s practically useless."

William nodded, as he was very familiar with the Stellar Family’s basic Body Forging Technique.

After all, he had assimilated this technique into his own cultivation technique in the original timeline and had practiced it in this timeline before he became a Star Warrior.

Even Samuel was practicing this basic Body Forging Technique.

William put away the bottle of Blood Essence, as he was not in a hurry to use it right now.

"The commotion you caused in the cafeteria today... You practically stepped on the dignity of those noble students. I think they will try to get back at you soon in some way."

William raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"You already know about that?"

Vivian chuckled and looked into his eyes while still lying down.

"If I don’t keep track of what you do, how am I supposed to make sure you don’t get hacked to death by someone behind my back?"

William’s mouth twitched at Vivian’s words, and he shook his head.

"Don’t worry. Unless those third- and fourth-year students make a move against me themselves, there is nothing they can do to me."

"It’s just a pity..." Vivian shook her head and sighed.

"My Mind Suggestion is different from your Heart Devourer ability, and powerful people can easily see through it. If not, I would have just used Mind Suggestion on those people, and they would have become obedient without causing any problems."

"A pity indeed..." William also nodded at her words.

After dinner, they strolled through the garden and talked about trivial matters.

As they were walking, Vivian suddenly stopped and looked toward the mansion’s entrance.

"What’s wrong?" William asked when he saw her stopping.

"Your friend is here." As she spoke, they saw a carriage stop at the entrance, and Liam walked out of it.
