Chapter 2535: Energy Blasts
The team moved to the next target after some rest.
Just like before Sam marked the target and set up a large barrier with over a mile radius and slowly shrunk it. The beast was trapped just like before and its movements were restricted. However, this time, the first move was not actually made by one of the people on the team.
Tamas who had the formation disc in his hands threw it into the barrier.
It went through and landed in front of the beast.
The disc gave out a dark glow before the previously extracted shadow came out of it and bit into the creature.
Night Ghost and Tamas felt a bit more pressure.
They are coordinating to control the undead.
Once the fight began, Sam started activating the suits of the team members one by one. With the undead directly tangled with the target, there were a lot more openings and the creature couldn’t fight back.
The first fight took almost half an hour. The second fight was ten minutes faster at least.
Once again, after it was taken down, the same death energy barrier appeared. Tamas and Night Ghost assisted the formation to create the shadow undead of this new target. However, this time after attaching the formation disc on the undead creature, the rest of the team also wore bracelets.
This is to distribute the mental burden that falls to control this undead creature.
This is also one of the recent inventions.
Now that he has access to higher tier creatures, Sam wanted to work out some ways to weaponize them. Of course, there is obviously the taming through the chessboard. But beast taming is not exactly suitable through the chessboard. Particularly, when the creatures are as unevolved as the dinosaurs they are currently dealing with.
Usually, almost any creature that steps into the Divine Plane Consummation should have complete sentience with the ability to speak out.
No matter how lowly its bloodline is or how its brain could be underdeveloped.
But these dinosaurs didn’t have that. Even the targets that managers killed, they didn’t have that sentience.
And the taming process in the chessboard often happens by reinforcing the emotional and mental states and manipulating that person into submission.
If he tried it with the beasts, it would take a lot more effort and there is a chance when beasts are this dumb, they could be completely fried mentally without a chance for him to actually use them.
They are fine if they are actually weaker than him. But when they are stronger its harder to accomplish this.

Controlling an undead is a simple concept. Undead have a very simple mechanism for control. The mental strength or rather the soul strength of the controller should be higher than the instinctual chaotic strength of an undead creature.
Since the level of undead is higher, Sam figured out a way to divide the burden and now, the mental strength of a bunch of cultivators can be used to balance out the instincts of the undead.
Now with the two undead, the next target was finished in less than 10 minutes. And they gathered the third undead.
But that was the limit. Night Ghost and Tamas have affinity with the death element and they are very highly skilled necromancers. Their souls are trained for this. Not the others. So, the third one was the limit to ensure their usual functions wouldn’t be slowed down.
But the three were enough.
The fourth target was taken down in less than five minutes. Anyway, if they find a better target that could be much more versatile or lethal, they could just always switch.
All in all, the progress of the friends’ side is very good.
Meanwhile, the progress on the managers’ side is not that bad either.
Since Sam left them to their own devices, they all gathered and racked their brains to come up with a plan.
Since their breakthrough to middle stage, it shouldn’t be a big deal for them to deal with the late stage creatures, but they realized how difficult it is to deal with the creatures in this world. They are just way too unnaturally strong compared to any beasts they had dealt with.
So, they had to think of ways. Particularly, the group that only had two members.
After much deliberation, the two strongest Icarus and Ivar were lopped into that group and the rest were split into even three each.
Ivar and Icarus went after their first target and they equipped with their gauntlets right from the start.
This land croc had its glowing scales on its neck reaching all the way up to its head, leading to the mouth.
Unlike the other team, they can’t do the formation and trapping. This creature of higher realm can easily catch them.
When it saw the two approaching from two sides, it already got vigilant.
Icarus held his axe and rushed in for the first attack. A distant, long range, energy attack conjured by his axe strike
*BANG*
To his surprise, the land croc turned around and swung its tail. It glowed white with energy and it manifested its own attack blocking the axe strike.
Icarus lunged forward with a punch to take it down.
But before he could land it, he saw something.
The scales on the creature’s body glowed brightly. And that started at the bottom on its neck until it spread to the mouth.
Inside, its mouth, a ball of energy conjured up and...
*BOOM*
An energy blast, directed straight at Icarus. He dodged it, and it just went past him. The devastation it brought was nothing short of disastrous.
The forest for about a mile had a single straight line and even a beast in its transcendent stage was destroyed because it happened to be in its path and couldn’t react in time.
Icarus and Ivar exchanged a glance and looked at the creature with their mouths wide open.
