Chapter 1664: Let's Meet Another Day

Charlotte, just like her brother Benjamin, sensed an ominous feeling when she saw Thomas and Alice walk in together, but with everyone present, she couldn’t say anything.

Isla’s overly enthusiastic attitude made Alice a little uncomfortable, but she managed to keep up appearances, not letting anyone see her unease.

Under Isla’s warm invitation, Alice sat on the sofa. Isla had intentionally seated her next to Benjamin, but Alice skillfully avoided it and sat next to Charlotte instead.

Thomas and Benjamin were having a casual conversation about business matters. Though they seemed to be chatting cheerfully, there was an unspoken emotion stirring within both of them.

Isla felt isolated; the two guys were talking business, and the two girls were chatting casually, leaving her, the old lady, excluded. She wanted to join in but didn’t know how.

“Charlotte! Can you see if the doctor is here yet? It’s already eight forty.”

Isla looked at her phone for the time and urged Charlotte to go find the doctor to sign the discharge papers.

Detecting some dissatisfaction in her mother’s urging, Charlotte quickly ended the conversation with Alice and got up to find the doctor.

Alice didn’t want to be tangled up with Isla, so she got up and followed Charlotte, accompanying her to handle the discharge procedures.

Soon, the discharge procedures were all completed.

When the two returned to the room, Alexander had also arrived. He paused for a moment when he saw Alice walk in with Charlotte, but then he understood.

“The procedures are done, let’s go.”

Charlotte, like a commanding general, waved with the discharge papers, ordering everyone in the room to move out with her.

Alice had long wanted to leave this place; the atmosphere here was too pressing. As soon as Charlotte finished speaking, Alice was the first to walk out of the room.

She stood at the door, waiting for the others to come out, and followed them downstairs.

“Uncle! Aunt! I won’t be going to the house with you.” Alice had already decided before coming that after getting Benjamin out of the hospital, she would leave and not follow them to the Shaw Family home.

Isla started to persuade Alice to stay, but before she could even finish the word “you,” Alexander unexpectedly took over, making her glare in frustration, although he didn’t even look her way.

Alice was surprised; she didn’t expect Alexander to cooperate with her like that, but despite her surprise, she didn’t forget to say goodbye to the others.

“Thomas! Leave with Alice, we’ve got your brother covered here.” Alexander didn’t plan to let Alice leave alone, turning to Thomas and issuing a dismissal.

Thomas really wanted to leave with Alice, but how could he leave so recklessly?
