Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1661: How Did I Never Realize This Mother-Daughter Pair Clings to Me So Much
Ever since that day they came back to the Fisher Family villa, Alice Turner had moved in with Thomas Fisher, and that was entirely Alice’s idea and decision. As a wife-obsessed husband, Thomas had no choice but to agree.
With his son and daughter-in-law staying home, Cedric Fisher was overjoyed, feeling like the house was finally becoming lively and warm again.
Autumn York had felt very awkward at first, but as time slowly passed, she gradually got used to Alice’s presence, and the awkwardness in her heart unknowingly faded away.
Alice really knew how to win over her mother-in-law, and it wasn’t that fake, put-on kind of flattery—she gave her genuine feelings and sincerity.
Before she got married, she often brought work home to finish, but now she didn’t do that anymore.
She left all her work at the office; once she got home she only enjoyed family life, eating with her in-laws and her husband, then after dinner walking with her mother-in-law, and once she was done keeping her mother-in-law company, she still had to keep her husband company in bed.
She did feel a bit tired, but every day was full and happy, and her face was always lit up with a blissful smile.
Alice was busy every day with her husband’s family, and Sophia Wood was starting to get a little jealous, but she didn’t take the initiative to call Alice to go and "disturb" her life.
She knew her eldest daughter had just married her son-in-law, and there were still many things their family needed to work out together.
She hoped her eldest daughter could integrate into that family as soon as possible, and try to have a child or two early; that way, her eldest daughter’s life would be perfect.
Benjamin Shaw’s health recovered very well. After a month in the hospital, he was discharged. In fact, he could have gone home a few days earlier; he just couldn’t quite bear to leave.
In the hospital he could still see Alice from time to time. Even though she came with his fourth brother every time, just being able to see her already made him content. Once he went home, he figured he’d never get that kind of privilege again.
Early that morning, Isla Lane called Alice to tell her that Benjamin was being discharged today. She didn’t spell out her real intention directly, but Alice understood perfectly.
Even if the other party stated her purpose outright, Alice would still play coy and pretend to be confused, only replying blandly, "Got it."
After hanging up with Alice, Isla was so angry her face turned green. Seeing her complexion become especially ugly, Charlotte Shaw walked over from the side. "What’s wrong, Mom? Alice isn’t coming to pick Benjamin up from the hospital?"
With her mom’s face looking that bad, it could only mean that outcome.
"She didn’t say. I talked to her for ages and she just replied with one sentence: ’Got it.’" Isla was honestly furious.
These days, Alice and Thomas often showed up at the hospital together, and Autumn always had this laissez-faire attitude. Isla had been stewing in silent frustration for a while, and now, faced with this situation, all her pent-up displeasure suddenly blew up.
Charlotte had already heard about all this from Isla’s constant complaints, but right now she didn’t overthink it; she only assumed her mom was that angry because of Alice’s lukewarm attitude.
"Mom, don’t get mad. I’ll call Alice right now and have her come to the hospital."
While soothing Isla, Charlotte took her phone out of her bag, found Alice’s number, and dialed right away.
At the same time, Alice was just about to head out with Thomas, to go to the hospital and pick Benjamin up.
"How did I never notice before that this mother and daughter cling to me so much?" Looking at the flashing number and name on the screen, Alice couldn’t help griping to Thomas.
