Chapter 1649: I Just Went to See That Man

No one, not Alice Turner nor the Shaw Family, would have ever dreamed of Anthony’s plans and actions. Everyone was just going about their usual business, unaware that something significant was quietly being orchestrated, with Anthony as the mastermind.

During her lunch break, Alice decided to sacrifice her eating time to visit Benjamin Shaw in the hospital.

"Sis! We’re so in sync, let’s go, I’m treating you to a great meal." Just as Alice stepped out of the office door, she ran into Anthony who came to call for her.

Anthony was in high spirits because Eleanor Gower had agreed to come to Flame City. His entire demeanor appeared particularly upbeat.

"Go have your fancy meal yourself, I’m heading to the hospital." Alice was solely focused on getting to the hospital quickly to see Benjamin, so that Isla Lane would stop bugging her with calls. She didn’t notice Anthony’s unusually enthusiastic mood at all.

Hearing Alice mention going to the hospital, Anthony suddenly became agitated and reached out to grab Alice, "Sis! What are you doing going to the hospital? Aren’t they annoying enough already?"

"I haven’t visited Benjamin for two days, I need to check on him." If she didn’t go, his mother might keep calling or even show up at her door.

Alice pulled away the hand gripping her arm and strode towards the elevator.

Seeing this, Anthony immediately followed, attempting to grab Alice again, but he missed as she stepped into the elevator.

As she went in, he quickly followed with one long stride.

Anthony wanted to persuade Alice not to go again, but there were too many people in the elevator at that moment. He pursed his lips and swallowed back the words that were at the tip of his tongue.

Once the elevator reached the first floor, Anthony followed Alice out of the elevator. When the surrounding people had dispersed further away, he spoke again: "Sis! If you keep visiting Benjamin, your husband will get jealous."

"I’m just going to see that man, I have no intention of doing anything with him, what’s there to be jealous of? He’s not as petty as you make him out to be." Alice firmly asserted as she continued walking briskly toward the building’s exit.

Watching her walk away quickly, Anthony shook his head helplessly and then jogged to catch up, "I’ll go with you."

Alice glanced at Anthony who caught up, but didn’t stop him from tagging along because even if she did, it wouldn’t work; he wouldn’t listen.

She said nothing, implicitly allowing him to accompany her to the hospital to visit Benjamin Shaw.

The two of them hailed a taxi by the roadside and headed to the hospital.

Over forty minutes later, the taxi dropped them off at their destination.

"Sis! Isn’t that your husband’s car?"

As they stepped out of the car, Anthony spotted Thomas Fisher’s car and pointed it out to Alice.

Following the direction of his finger, Alice indeed saw Thomas’s car and started walking toward him.

Beep!

Thomas, who was parking, also noticed the two people walking toward him and honked to signal that he saw them.

"Why are you here too?"

The first thing Thomas asked as he got out of the car, casting a somewhat ambiguous expression at Alice, making it hard for her to discern his mood.

Alice didn’t get a chance to open her mouth before Anthony chimed in before her: "I haven’t visited my ex-brother-in-law for a few days, but I felt awkward coming alone, so I dragged my sis with me during break."
