The other side of the phone suddenly went silent, Autumn York thought Thomas Fisher was angry and ignoring her, but thankfully he didn’t hang up.

She was about to say something when suddenly Alice Turner’s voice came through the phone, "Mom! It’s me, your daughter-in-law Alice, we’re coming home to stay tonight, you better prepare some food for us. I’m not picky, anything will do."

Even if Autumn hadn’t said those words to Thomas just now, Alice was already planning to stay at the Fisher Family’s villa tonight; she just hadn’t gotten around to telling Thomas yet. She wanted to let him know after work in the afternoon.

Hearing Alice’s voice suddenly, Autumn was a little surprised, listening blankly as she said a whole bunch of things, "You and Thomas are coming home to stay tonight? Really?"

Despite her surprise, she couldn’t help but feel some undisguisable joy and excitement inside.

Through the phone, Alice could sense Autumn’s excitement and happiness, "Mom! Of course it’s true, you wouldn’t be unwelcoming to your daughter-in-law, would you?"

To make sure the person on the other end of the phone acknowledged her identity, she repeatedly mentioned "your daughter-in-law."

"Welcome, I wouldn’t dare not welcome you."

After Autumn awkwardly replied, regardless of whether Alice had more to say, she reluctantly hung up the phone.

Beep!

Hearing the beep sound, Alice knew Autumn had hung up. She moved the phone away from her ear and realized Thomas was staring at her without blinking.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Do you think you married a particularly virtuous wife?" Her words were purely in jest, without a hint of self-flattery.

"Yes, I think marrying you is one of the luckiest things in my life." Thomas wasn’t joking at all, his wrist pulled her into his arms.

Initially, Alice thought Thomas was joking, but seeing his serious face, she knew he meant it, he was genuinely serious.

"Say that to me more often, I love hearing it." It’s not true that she doesn’t love hearing it; she’s not that pretentious, wrapping her arms around his lean waist.

"As you command, dear wife!"

Thomas looked down at the woman in his arms, a charming smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

At this moment, the elevator doors opened.

Alice withdrew her arms from around Thomas, but she didn’t let go of his hand on her waist; she let him guide her into the elevator.

It was the peak work hour, the elevator was already crowded with people, and once inside, they stood properly beside the elevator doors.

Their high attractiveness drew the attention of others, with young women’s eyes glued to Thomas, infatuated, warmly lingering.

Alice sharply noticed those women’s gazes, discreetly glanced at the love-struck women, and called Thomas sweetly, "Honey! Come pick me up after work, we should go home together."

She didn’t need to explicitly say it, she knew he would come to pick her up, but faced with women eyeing her husband, she felt the need to assert her sovereignty.

This was Alice’s second time calling him husband, and in such a doting tone at that, Thomas felt a delightful tickle in his heart, like a cat scratching it. Instinctively, he tightened his arm, holding her closer, "Okay."
